KPIX is Still Sucking and CBS Black Rock is Bitching About It (Again)

Image result for Ken Bastida Veronica De La Cruz KPIX415 MEDIA EXCLUSIVE:

CBS NET INTERNAL: "SF isn't performing well", (again)

A KEY Black Rock O and O suit "disgusted" with Bay Area CBS "productivity." Or maybe lack of.

The guys who smoke big cigars and observe the network's stations across the nation have zeroed in on KPIX and its stagnant air talent and "gross" performance in May '19 Sweeps.

PIX had a disastrous showing particularly early evening. (To be fair, no other Bay Area station did that well, but that's no excuse at Black Rock)

Most disturbing for PIX: Its top anchors (like Ken Bastida and Veronica De La Cruz) anchor over declining numbers amid soaring salaries that could be the center of future CBS News cuts --$100 million at least.

I'll be watching for you.

  1. Almost everyone at that station sucks. Except for Goodrich and Hackney and one or two others, it looks like Bakersfield.

  2. Why can't CBS get rid of Single Mommy (Veronica De La Cruz)?
Looking at that picture posted is sick

  3. Veronica is very satisfactory when paired with Liz. Ken should consider retirement. He looks and sounds burned out. The reporters are mostly by dreadful and Vern Glenn is awful.

  5. If Black Rock is disgusted, why won't they do something by the time fall arrives? Proof happened over the weekend, though not with the Beautifully Talented Jules. When Katie Nielsen flubbed Tony Thurmond's name, that was very cringeworthy. Thankful that the network TV season is over (except for the remaining Elementary episodes left to air), when a reporter can't pronounce a State School Superintendent's name, and the man used to work at school funding-impaired Richmond/West Contra Costa for years, that's when you know a local Bay station's newscasts are increasingly disappointing. Right now, KGO-TV has the best (despite pedestrian GM & ND), then KTVU (10 O'Clock News may still be No. 1, but the Firm's prints are all over the rest of the newsroom through anxiety/panic/paranoia), then KNTV (despite their disrespect for veteran anchor Jessica Aguirre, leaving her twisting in the wind), then KPIX (with brief summer programming and reruns, PIX's number will drop more due to the network's less powerful segueways), and last (& very least, except for Liviakis & Moore), KRON. The gap between management and news personalities seems to get wider and wider every single year, especially this entire decade.

  6. KGO News just played the same (Free) PSA about kids and nicotine and that Amy Schumer Xfinity ad at every commercial break from 4p-5p. Tell me they are not in bad shape...At least KPIX has a few different advertisers.

  7. I'll tell you what's cringeworthy on KPIX, those sexual harassment public service announcements. I can believe men are that clueless, met a couple myself, but seeing it acted out like that is retch inducing.

  8. Goodrich and Hackney (Rich I know you don't much like him) for weeknights with Deanno. Deanno anchors solo at 7. I guess O'Donnell can stay. Ken Bastida gets hired to do Stan Bunger's shift at KCBS and Allen Martin goes back to KSBW in Salinas / Monterey, where he can join its wax-works anchor lineup.
