Armstrong and Getty Are Really Forrest Gump Double-Sized

I FINALLY GOT IT DOWN; Those alleged radio guys, "Armstrong and Getty" (on KGO here, 6-10 AM) are Forrest Gump, more like 2 Forrest Gumps. A double whammy. You read me and I've always said these yahoos represent a clown duo of midwestern vanilla; a Branson, Missouri sense of humor beloved by those with no pulse. Another words: people who like Forrest Gump. Simpletons. Melba toast. Salt, no pepper. Wonder bread.

That's the least harmful residue of Armstrong and Getty. They're artificial, sub-human zombies. Manufactured cackles; phony laughs; fake chemistry; duplicitous jerks who like to say their politically middle-of-road. Sure, excuse me while I giggle which is real and genuine as opposed to the Branson fakes. Trump apologists and supporters but try like hell to come off as MOR --yeah, my ass!

Why do KGO Radio suits still carry these bozos? They're NOT "live and local"; they broadcast from some small outpost studio in Sacramento. They are syndicated throughout the West which only means there's ZERO creativity in AM Radio on the West Coast. Maybe they have pictures.

Or maybe Trump operatives spying on all of us individuals with at least a quarter brain alive.

May the force be with you.

  1. It is unfair to compare the predictably vulgar duo with the Forest Gump character. Forrest Gump was innocent, pure of heart and stumbled upon some major truths of life.

  2. I'd rather listen to Forest Gump. Dumber and Dumbest are on at 5am for a reason. Not enough reason for me to listen. Why they get 4 hours on KGO is beyond me, syndicated or not. They should move Chip Franklin to carry on with them. He'd fit right in and that would make the Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest show EVER!

  3. Nobody listens to KGO so who cares??

  4. Leave Armstrong & Getty alone. They are the Cat's Meow, far as I'm concerned. There is no law saying that you, Rich, have to enjoy every talent speaking into a microphone. A&G simply are not your taste in humor. And that's okay.

It's hard to explain what's good about them except to say that they're fun, knowledgeable, can spin a good yarn and I can imagine sharing lunch with them at a White Castle restaurant on High St. in Columbus Ohio. Two blocks from OSU. It's where I used to live.

  5. Yes these 2 hacks are hideous caricatures. Phonies of the first order. The funny part is, do they even believe in their BS? That they are in a major market like SF and on a once prominent station like KGO is testament to the disgrace and ineptitude of the fellow fools who run cumulus. That company can't burn down fast enough.

    1. I think these guys, and Rush Limpjaw before them, are "true believers" in the same way that devoutly religious people believe in god without tangible proof: don't let facts get in the way, just frame them in a context that supports your pre-formed hypothesis. Or deny said facts if they cannot be reconciled at all. That's basically what they do, every day.

  6. There is a certain segment of our society that has rejected knowledge, science, experts, professionals - I guess I can understand that on a "they can all rot in hell" kind of way. But that doesn't explain why you would listen to people who seem to brag about how little they know or think. Though I am guessing it is an audience advertisers would LOVE!.

    1. Indeed, these people are known as progressive liberals, and for them logic, common sense, even the basic reality of a given situation are things they cannot grasp.

    2. Why bring the Democratic party into this? Cut those uneducated fools some slack, they can't help themselves.

    3. Lmao. Project much, silly Cons? You guys support the dumbest prez EVER!! Have you seen his tweets, hear him speak? I'll take Obama Clinton, Carter, JFK over Dump, both Bush's and Reagan any day with combined SAT scores, college grades and even a game of Trivial Pursuit.

  7. These guys are amusing for a morning show. What is a better morning radio show in the Bay Area? Dr Don Rose isn’t around anymore.

Better to be a progressive Democrat...than a KKKonservative KKKristian foKKKs news-luvin' republiKKKan. Hey, 6:20 & 6:47--when's the next MAGA Cross Burning?

  10. I think Armstrong and Getty are the best thing about KGO 810. Also John Batchlor, the rest of their shows are garbage and should be cancelled. Too much liberal bull shit for me.

    1. Wow, you have pretty low standards thinking A&G and John B. are good shows. Btw, the liberal bullshit is just exposing the truth about this corrupt, lying prez. Go to 560 or 860 for Contard radio. You'll burn off your few remaining brain cells.

  11. Then just turn the dial to 560 or 860 and you will get conservative bull shit. Why deprive those of us who like John Rothmann and Pat Thurston of our listening pleasure. I actually like John Batchlor at times, and also listen to A&G, even though l'm mostly liberal I don't mind a different point of view.

  12. People from either "side" lobbing oh so clever insults (zzzzzz) on line are showing how they may well be part of the problem, also.

What purpose does doing so serve, other than a 30 second boost of adrenaline that you "showed them?"

"I am just telling them the truth!" I can hear it now.

  13. I wrote the comments at2:42. You have a point. In reading Richard's blog for several years, I get tired of conservatives complaining about "liberal" radio, when clearly most of talk radio is conservative, just to name a few: Savage, Rush, Hannity, Dennis Prager, Larry Elder. I actually listen to some conservative hosts, I especially like Tom Sullivan he is national, but use to be local from Sacramento, he is on 1530 AM Sacramento, I don't think John Batchlor is awful, he has some intelligent people on David Drucker, who is not as enamored of Trump as Batchlor, but seem more balanced, I find also Gordon Chang to have some good and factual information on China, North Korea and that whole area. Both Drucker and Chang are reporter's so they tend to be more balanced than talk show hosts.

  14. I'm probably to the left of everybody on KGO and agree with almost none of their politics, but I like their show. I would agree that their defenses of Trump are wearing thin and they would never twist themselves into pretzels to rationalize such behavior of someone with a D after their name, but that's their bias and I accept it. I think they've got good comedic timing, are good interviewers, and have compelling stories when they aren't talking politics.

It's almost as if...humor and taste are subjective.

  15. I'm a liberal Democrat and I like Armstrong and Getty. It's good to hear what the other side thinks and A & G do it the best with their excellent humor. And I get tired of the non-stop, anti-Trump rhetoric that the other hosts engage in.
Ultimately it's the ratings that matter, does anyone know how A & G are doing in their morning slot.

  16. I kind of agree with the last 2 comments, Armstrong and Getty is ok for a morning show, I don't think they are as bad as Rich makes them out to be, and there isn't much else on at that hour, Sussmann and Katie on 560 and Mike Gallagher on 860, I guess Stephanie Miller is on 910, but although liberal I never warmed up to her. I live in Concord and use to live in Benicia and I could listen to Armstrong and Getty on 650 Sacramento, so as far as I'm concerned, we don't really need them on a San Francisco station.

  17. Oh boy, a worthless socialist (redundant, I know) doesn't like a show that has intelligent discussion. I'm shocked!

    ReplyDelete
  18. And who are you aiming your comment at? I wrote the comments at 10:28 pm. Although somewhat liberal I'm neither a socialist nor wortless, since although past retirement age l still work full time. I do like intelligent radio, which is why l like John Rotmann (liberal) Tom Sullivan (conservative). It is possible to like some conservative hosts, but not all.
