WHEN THE WARRIORS SWEEP TONIGHT (Oh, just call me an optimist or not) we'll probably learn either
Kevin Durant or
Steph Curry is
MVP (another hunch, or not.) Game 4 is on
KGO (
ABC7) which has its own MVP's a sort of
1 and 1A, primary evening anchor
Dan Ashley and fellow MVP,
Michael Finney, two of the very most popular personalities on not only
Circle7 but
Bay Area TV News in particular.
I'VE consistently applauded Ashley and his quarter century tenure at
900 Front --he's not only solid but well-liked too by his peers and industry insiders. I've never heard a bad word spoken about Ashley and that's a rarity in this business. Pretty amazing to me and I'm a cynic.
Ashley is a
Channel 7 constant. A
constant face and steady voice behind the desk; moreover, he's reliable, approachable, and rock steady on the air, which is a valuable asset at
ABC7 let alone everywhere else. In fact, I constantly get feedback on the street and those who ask, "
Is Ashley that nice?," almost as if they can't believe that this guy could be so cool. Yes, he's that cool and nice, what a concept in today's fractured world.
MICHAEL FINNEY is not only a valuable asset; he too is a very likable guy and one of the most recognizable figures in the Bay Area. The ace
Consumer Editor and his staff have helped hundreds if not thousands of folks who got scammed or were victims of fraud --many of those, senior citizens and people who had nowhere to go and reached out to Finney and his massive staff and were rewarded with almost instant action and victory. It's the real deal and then some.
Finney and Ashley pack a
solid 1-2 punch --call 'em the Durant and Curry of
Channel 7 and the faces of Circle7. I'm all in.

WATCHING THE WARRIORS is not only watching great basketball but entertaining action as well which is why
NBA ratings are at an all time high for this series despite its lopsidedness --even in defeat, Mega-Multi Superstar,
Lebron James and his greatness and drama have brought an extra element to the series and thus one of the many millions of reasons why
ABC paid the
NBA prime coin to air the games and why
Channel 7 will make a mint even if there's only 4 games.
