To Neda Iranpour: An Apology

To Neda Iranpour of KPIX, I owe you an apology.

I was unaware of the medical condition involving your voice.

Dumb me.

I'm very sorry.

Image result for neda iranpour kpixI was lazy and only skimmed your bio and never bothered to read it near the end, which would have explained it all and avoided all these inferences and comments for which I feel responsible for and for which, again, I profoundly apologize.

  1. Nice apology, Rich. Way to step up and admit a mistake, and show sincere remorse for said.

  5. This may come off as sounding mean, but her job is to communicate using her voice. If she can’t do that well because of this condition, why is she on the air? You wouldn’t hire a news anchor with Tourette’s Syndrome or a sports anchor whose dyslexia is so bad that he can’t add up a box score. So I don’t get why she’s on the air. It’s not like stations get points with the FCC for hiring the disabled like they do for having minorities on the payroll.

(Wouldn’t it be funny to have an anchor with Tourette’s Syndrome, unexpectedly cussing while reading stories—-people would tune in just to see that!)

  6. I thought more or less the same thing. Not that she needs any from this viewer, but my apologies too.

  7. I couldn't care less about her voice Rich. She comes across as a person who seems to enjoy what she does, and more importantly, she isn't ROBBIE!!!!! Thank God.

  8. She has a distinct voice and many people have asked her where it came from. Doctors have diagnosed her with having nodules on her voice box since she was young. She’s been to speech therapy several times to try and “heal” the rasp, but it’s sticking around.

  9. She sounds like Kirstie Alley and Rachael Ray combined. I turned off the radio when she is on KCBS reporting weather.

  10. Iranpour uses her raspy voice to get "over" or get "popular" with a certain viewership. Some think her voice is sexy..she knows it...she uses it. Nothing new here.

  11. whatever the "medical condition" is with her voice it surely does not explain her absolutely HORRIBLE choice of on-air wardrobe - tight, revealing, accentuating -- who is she dressing for at 5 in the morning ??? Come on Neda...figure out how to look like a professional broadcaster vs your "gettin' ready for an evening out" look
