GOD, WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS...
*The
Giants and their ludicrous broadcasters' "
On Assignment" edict; what a pain in the ass, yeah, I'll keep on them because no one has the balls to call them out. The latest participant,
Duane Kuiper, who took a sabbatical from the
Washington trip (who does that?) and thus created a most embarrassing broadcast circus Sunday.
Javier Lopez and
Jon Miller worked the TV side and left
Dave Flemming solo which isn't so bad but if I'm paying Giants' rights fees, I'm frankly pissed off.
|
The Giants' 'On-Assignment' brigade with Vin Scully |
Let's just say it straight: This "
on assignment" crap got old the week after it was enacted. It' s weak, as
KRUK would say. There's nobody in baseball that does this yet the Giants org. thinks its OK, and why? Because instead of just allotting certain broadcasters a few days off now and then, they allow this BS and think it's cute.
POINT: no other major league baseball team does this.
Vin Scully broadcast almost all the
Dodgers' games till the end and only took off occasional days. He's in his early 90's.
Ken Korach of the
A's rarely takes days off and his lengthy absence a few years ago was due to a medical issue. But the Giants guys get a pass and spew forth the "on assignment" BS to a fan base that acquiesces and puts up with it. Again,
WEAK!
*TV anchors that are not
Bay Area natives who do faux cheers just because they feel they have to; what a pain in the ass to watch and tomorrow (Tuesday) we'll see plenty of that as almost all stations will televise the
Warriors' victory parade from
Downtown Oakland. It's not so bad when the good fakers know how to fake it, especially the ones who wouldn't know
Draymond Green from
Dick Green. The painful part is watching giggly, female, newbies who crap all over the screen with their fake glee, how embarrassing.
|
The Foodie Chap |
*The continuing abomination that is called "
Foodie Chap" that infects
KPIX and
KCBS.
What a pain in the ass, what a blustery pile of unimaginative
dorkism by this
Piers Morgan wannabee. So instead of watching simple and straightforward food news and reviews with a twist, PIX thinks this bloated bore is interesting? Yeah, just like two root canals in one day.
|
Mike Gallagher |
*The Trump ass-kisser on
860 AM (
The Answer) from 6-9AM, the horrible, awful, and overall clown named
Mike Gallagher, what a royal pain in the ass. It's not just the on-air ass-kissing Gallagher's daily
Trump orgasms its his repeated interrupting callers who are not crazy and would only like to make a point but bloated Gallagher is more interested in securing another Oval office visit and Trump love decal.
|
Mike Nicco |
*Is it just me or is
Mike Nicco a
certified pain in the ass? Nicco was just mildly irritating when he appeared on the
KGO-TV morning news; bad enough, his forecasts are always wrong; worse yet, he's now
MUGGING the camera like a teenager taking his first selfie from the Senior prom. Nicco is supremely insufferable in a group that is so pompous and bad it makes the old "
Up with People" group, divine charm.
|
"Chef" Ryan Scott |
*
Chef Ryan Scott: there can't be a law that says it's unfair to rip this untalented hack, pain in the ass, jerkoff too many times. He's the
WORST of the worst. An abomination of self-congratulatory vermin with all the authenticity of caviar bought at a local Walmart.
KGO thinks by putting this faker on the weekend it will bury him so he can wallow with his
FAKE callers but he's still a major, unhinged boor --and his on-air gushing is the worst piece of radio garbage since Brad Kava was doing the overnight --Scott is horrid, someone should tell the boss.
|
Amy G |
*
Amy G: what a
pain in the ass! A dim-witted bulb with about as much passion as a week-old bag of garlic fries. We're supposed to be soft on Amy because she's a woman and is only carrying out
Larry Baer's booster club missives;
NO. I won't. The worst thing about Amy G is the fact the Giants' broadcast hierarchy capitulation on this nitwit who would be laughed at in Boise. She's embarrassing. She's cringeworthy. She's
DETESTED by guess who the most?
WOMEN! WOMEN GIANTS' FANS! They can't stand her. They change the channel when her mug comes on camera. She's an affront to professional broadcasting and her appeal, if any, is to the people that were born with a quarter brain and watch "
Dukes of Hazzard" reruns --Amy G was mildly bad when the Giants won their World Series titles. Now that they have petered out, there's
NO EXCUSE she stays on the broadcasts. You know what? Amy G should be placed on permanent "On Assignment."
|
Ahmed Fareed |
*
Ahmed Fareed is so annoying, so unfunny, so fake and distorted what genius at
NBC Sports Bay Area thought it was wise to place this obnoxious lightweight on the air? What a pain in the ass! His delivery is fraught with malapropism-it is. He mumbles so much drivel that you might as well be watching the Giants' "
Outsiders"--wait a minute, compared to Fareed, they're
Pulitzer material. Have I seen worse on this horrible channel? Yes, but this lump takes the cake.
|
Greg Papa |
*
Greg Papa: major
pain in ass both on TV
and radio. Greg long ago jumped the shark and now thinks his crap doesn't stink the truth is, Papa developed a huge ego and decided to become an obnoxious dick who habitually interrupts and speaks over
Kelli Johnson --not a good look and Papa thinks he's some kind of
Bob Costas. Greg needs to sit down and drink some milk and cookies otherwise
Mark Davis will kick his ass and I'll applaud.
*
Tim Kawakami:
MAJOR PAIN IN ASS,
Block This, Asshole!
OK, full disclosure, yes, I'm particularly cranky about this abysmal jerk who tries to intimidate through fear but whose actions will eventually catch up to him. Kawakami is an overrated writer who nothing more than a Warriors' in-house booster. His current gig will last about 8 more months before the money runs out and Timmo will once again be back at the Merc writing plaudits about his good friend,
Don Trump. Yeah, TK voted for Trump which is all you need to know about this squalid filth of a man.
|
Tim Kawakami: Blocker HOF |
Greg Papa is a smarmy shithead. So glad that he no longer does the Giants pre and postgame shows.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the Giants, they will NEVER be a truly world-class organization until they can Amy G and stop this stupid On Assignment crap.
The Giants will never be a world class organization if they can't do simple arithmetic. A competing team just several miles away is more of a threat in that location than if they had relocated 50 miles south. How is a one-hour drive away, or an even longer trip by rail considered Giants territory when AT&T Park is just a short BART ride away for Oakland and the greater east bay?
DeleteStupid, stupid, stupid.
Amy G?
DeleteI'd hit it.
Vern Glenn is not on this list of insufferable mugging, melodramatic sportscasters?
ReplyDeleteBest question I've seen asked here yet!
DeleteVern Glenn learned all those Annoying on-air Mannerisms/Shenanigans from working at KRON Channel 4 as weekend sports anchor for over 20 years under Gary "The Bloated One" Radnich's Horrible Spell. When Glenn left KRON around 5 years ago to work for KPIX 5 he made the decision to totally emulate on-air every one of Radnich's worst qualities as a sportscaster. Like Awful KTVU weekday morning anchor Dave Clark, Glenn has the Right Melanin to still remain on the air.
DeleteVern Glenn won an Emmy for Best On-Camera Talent Sports Anchor/Reporter. Check out https://emmysf.tv/files/2018/06/Emmy18RecPR.pdf.
DeleteGlenn didn't get his shtick from Radnich, he got it from Dennis O'Donnell, who was their producer at KRON. Radnich is many things, but it's not his style to get cutesy by interjecting "Rai-duhs" and other crap like that when simply reading the copy.
DeleteJust try to watch is a PIX sportscast; it's painful because it's either going to be O'Donnell or Glenn doing the same crap.
So glad I have no use whatsoever for team sports or the jackasses that report on or discuss them. Clearly, those who don't think sports are an incredible waste of time and a disturbing means to put unfathomable amounts of money into the hands of irresponsible thugs are getting what the media think they deserve.
ReplyDeleteWhy is so hard to understand that when Giants broadcasters are away from work they are described as being "on assignment?"
ReplyDeleteWhy is anyone offended by that?
Rich is highly sensitive and easily offended.
DeleteYeah, I don't get why he's so offended either. I think it's a running joke among the broadcasters to say that they're "on assignment". As for comparing them to Vin Scully and his amazing tenure and work ethic, it's really not fair. Vin is a once in a lifetime broadcaster and no one knows and respects that more than the Giants crew. With Krukow's medical condition and the fact that three out of four of the main crew in their mid sixties I think they are taking more time off to test out the new guys and see what they have for the future.
Delete10:47 AM - because it sounds incredibly stupid and is insulting to the viewer since it's said each time one of them has a "day off".
DeleteBaseball is a game that is played almost everyday. If your a professional baseball announcer it is part of your job to announce every game unless there is an illness or some other extenuating circumstance. There are hundreds of people that would gladly take your cushy job if you can't do it.
DeleteLarry Baer should get out of the baseball business...sell his part of the Giants to someone who cares. I think the poor guy is burned out..needs a vacation. Don't know anyone who has something good to say about Vern Glenn. What a pain in the ass.
ReplyDeleteThere's gotta be something in Kruk's, Kuip's and Miller's contract that allow them all these absences.
ReplyDeleteIIRC, Kruk doesn't travel east of Colorado anymore due to his medical condition.
DeleteAlso, the "on assignment" thing is a joke. Jon Miller discussed it on the air a few years ago. I don't know why it's such a big deal for them to take a road series off every now and then. Flemming certainly doesn't seem to mind picking up the slack. Doesn't he broadcast for a veritable alphabet soup of networks besides KNBR/CSN?
Vin Scully only called home games and those in Anaheim in his final seasons.
ReplyDeleteYeah, toward the very end he only did home games after almost 80 years ..but when he took days off it was understood he was taking a day off and it wasn't couched as "on assignment" BS.
Delete'On assignment' is a joke...a weak joke, but nothing more than that.
DeleteThey call their days off "on assignment", BFD!
DeleteGallagher does not rank in my top tier or even middle of the pack among the conservative talk radio set. I like Prager and Hewitt because they're sane and have academic chops that could bury me. I've said before that I like Bill Bennett for many of the same reasons but to my knowledge he isn't heard in this market.
ReplyDeleteIn Spports Broadcasting it's no longer ''Who's on First Base?'', it's Who's on Assignment??''.
ReplyDeleteThis PITA post had me 😆!
ReplyDeleteDraymond Green from Dick Green! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that Kawakami is a Hairpiece among sports columnists. Goodbye any writing respect I had!
And of course, Lockstep Larry is Lockstep Larry especially when it comes to inane Amy G.
yes baseball can be boring,'' 1-0 after 3 innings, we'll be right back''.Yawn...
ReplyDeleteTK looks like he got punched in the face too many times. Not surprising based on his small dick complex.
ReplyDeleteKawakami voted for Trump? That's all I need to know.
ReplyDeleteThe Foodie chap makes me want to punch my TV and screw Michaan's also.
ReplyDeleteFareed is a fair hair boy by the network. He's not going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteWait, how do you know Kawakami voted for Trump? I don't think he writes like he voted for Trump.
ReplyDeleteHoping Papa relocates to Las Vegas with the treacherous Davis never to be heard from again.
ReplyDeleteIs it at all possible, for Duane Kuiper, to make eye contact with the camera or even with Mike Krukow????
ReplyDeleteKawakami always supported the kneeling NFL players. I have a hard time believing he's a friend of The Donald.
ReplyDeleteryan scott sucking up to some upper crust sounding english lady by offering her his cookie recepies was the funniest thing i ever heard..he is a complete clueless doofus
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more about Mike Gallagher, just cannot listen to him. You know that many of issues he defends Trump on, had it been Obama he would have a totally different take. Mike Gallagher use to be 650 am Sacramento about 10 or more years ago, he did more of a lifestyle show in. All in all he is not very interesting and is an intellectual lightweight.
ReplyDeleteLe Bron and the fate of the NBA are more topics of discussion that Dubs Victory. Sports and Business and personality and Medias is now an adjunct to simply celebrating any teams Championships.
ReplyDeleteThe Foodie Chap, Liam MayClem was on Check Please Bay Area a few years ago and it was hilarious. One of the other diners on the show did not like his choice of restaurants. So the Foodie Chap got his ass chapped and not only pouted while this guy was talking he made sure to tear the other guys choice down when he had a chance. He was like a little kid that was sucking his thumb in the corner because someone didn't kiss his ass. Sounds a bit like Trump now that I think of it.
ReplyDeleteAmy G is the most useless, embarrassing, and untalented personality in sports.
ReplyDelete- female fan indeed
