KGO Looking for Shumann Replacement on the Weekend Sports Desk; Bach Long Odds; Quan a Consideration; Applebaum on Short List

MINDI BACH: fine and capable anchor but not ready for a fulltime gig at KGO; which is why there's virtually no chance she'll be replacing Mike Shumann, even on the weekend.

I like Mindi a lot but to be blunt, she's kind of bland. Sort of overly benign. Cutesy to the max which isn't all so bad but I never liked wonder bread.

I hear rumors that they (KGO) are looking at KTVU's Jason Applebaum; Rick Quan has also been mentioned and like Bach, has done fill-in work at Channel 7.

    I look forward watching her on weekends. She is qualify to do weekend news with Eric.

    I say give Mindy a shot. She may improve their ratings. Rick Quan semms like a nice guy, but doesn't have the jock factor in his corner. When picking teams as kids ... we'll take the girl and you take Rick.
