Neda Iranpour is now the KPIX fulltime morning and noon Weather anchor. She's been doing a lot of fill-in work and finally got the gig; Iranpour is lively and engaging if not a bit too happy on occasion but she's capable and intelligent.
If nothing else, maybe she could inspire Kenny Choi to show a pulse.
Iranpour, who has had stints in Sacto and San Diego will also do KCBS reports in the morning.
I realize that her voice isn't the greatest to listen to, but I'll take her over Robbie any day of the week. As for Kenny... a lost cause. It's who he is.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness it's not THAT bad! Can be kinda sexy sometimes.
DeleteWaaaaay better than Dion Lame over at KGO.
You're consistantly ripping on Kenny for being boring. However, I'll gladly take a bland, competent professional like Kenny over an obnoxious showboat every time.
ReplyDeleteBring on the Kenny army!!!!
DeleteShe seems to be adjusting well to the area, and in their newscasts. Congratulations, and good luck to Neda!
ReplyDeleteShe spent a number of years on Channel 2 in Reno and quite often sounded hoarse and hung over on the early morning newscast. Maybe a change of domicile to the Bay area and adding a few years maturity have helped with a positive spin.
ReplyDeleteReno is so close to hell you can see Sparks!
DeleteDuh!! that's not new!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot stand her voice when she say "hello" on the radio. They should put Elizabeth forgot her last name as a replacement. And, Neda should keep her hair dark representing herself than coloring it blonde to make herself more Caucasian.
ReplyDeleteHere's the key....turn the volume down when she comes on.
DeleteNeda sounds like Roberta Gonzales on the radio. I haven't watched her on TV.
ReplyDelete"And, Neda should keep her hair dark representing herself than coloring it blonde to make herself more Caucasian." Wow. Miss Clairol would go broke if all "Caucasians" kept their dark hair representing themselves instead of coloring it blonde.
ReplyDeleteNow, back to the issue. I don't mind her. I also don't get the hate for Kenny. If I wake up too early and turn on the TV while trying to fall back asleep, he is the perfect voice not to annoy me, and perhaps, put me back to sleep.
I like Neda too and I’m glad she got the gig. Tell me, 11:09PM, do you say the same thing about Pam Moore? Vicki Liviakis?
DeleteThe first time (scratch that, the first dozen times) I heard Neda on KCBS in the morning I thought Roberta had a cold or something. To me they don't sound that much different...
ReplyDeleteNot appealing to me. I'll stick with KRON or KTVU.
ReplyDeleteKTVU isn't bad to work at. There is just no passion within the building. There is so much news and so little staff that some days it's miracle that bigger mistakes aren't made. Upper management makes it clear were only nuts and bolts to them and not people. No holiday bonus or personal pats on the back. Management sends out blanket statement emails to staff. It's either - good work on ratings or please don't park in the empty parking lot unless your working. It's not a family at KTVU. People clock in, clock out, and then go home. There are only a few that really care and rest just go through the motions. However, this newsroom and station were much worse under Tom Raponi. Those were the most toxic years.
ReplyDeleteThanks 10:35...great insight from an insider....What do you think of your managers?
DeleteNo more Del Mar Yoga class for Neda...sad for me too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Neda.
She's horrible on KCBS. No personality. Sure, Roberta could be over-the-top, but she was so much more engaging.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy her voice, it's not soothing but a reminder for the anti-smoking campaign. I like her!!
ReplyDeleteI think she's gorgeous!
