  1. Hi Rich, what can we do to get Bob Fitzgerald fired, at least on Warriors games...I can't stand his pompous ass and I bet Jim Barnett feels the same...your thoughts?

    1. Bob Fitzgerald is universally detested by a whole lot of people because of smarminess; his arrogance; his fake laugh and giggles and his smugness. If it makes you feel lousy, join the club... My best advice is to not listen or watch when FITZ turns his mike on. A firing would be very unlikely at this point unless Fitz were to say something bizarre and he's not that stupid.

    2. I have to turn off the sound at times. Too much Bob is too much. BTW, I tweeted to Barnett after the death of my idol Connie Hawkins last month. He never answered- but yesterday he brought up Hawkins and his ability pick up a B-Ball with one hand. EVERY teen in the land tried that then. And failed.
      So,I was heard.

    3. BF, the short fatman is horrible. Worse than Ernie and Bert. Fake laughs. Nothing is that funny. Rod was great when he came here from Texas 20 years ago and was on 1050. Not sure how he puts up with this midget.

    1. Probably those with the lowest seniority but I'm not aware of such cost-cutting --at least in the foreseeable future.

  3. Do you think Matt Lauer will ever return to television?

  4. I DO.

We were talking about this the other day and I thought Lauer would return (after a year or so) on a third-tier cable network and would resurface ...he did some stupid things, granted, but it's not as if he killed someone. A network? No, but like I said, think cable. He'll be back.

    1. Rich, do you think the media will ever give us definitions for "assault, grope, violate, harass, misconduct", and cetera.

Which is just a love pat and which is serious?

For instance, back in the olden days playing stink-finger was pretty popular. Would that get a guy in trouble today?

    2. Welcome to the world of social media. This activity has been going on for years and years. It's only now because of Twitter and Facebook and TMZ that it's all coming out. I'm not condoning what's taken place I'm just illustrating that in another time all this bad behavior by primarily men was not only happening but the norm too.

I don't think it's the media's job to define misconduct --I think it's pretty self-evident what's ok and what's not ok, in any time period.

    3. Actually social media and TMZ have been around for a decade. It's "all coming out now" because of Rose McGowan, period.

    4. So, you are saying that because it was "the norm" women were supposed to put up with that infantile, self-serving behavior? Why do men think their junk is so wonderful women need to see it and worship it whether they want to or not? Sick.

    5. Rose McGowan knew what she was getting into. Isn't it ironic that these new "social justice warriors" are actresses (Rose) and athletes (Colin) that only now have a problem when their roles dry up (Rose) and they just plain suck and can't win anymore (Colin)? How convenient.

    6. "The Media" does not give us definitions of unacceptable behaviors, US Labor laws and court cases have provided these definitions. Ignorance of the law is no defense.

  5. Is MZ at KSCO ok? I've sent him a couple of emails, looking for a radio host gig, $ 200K +/-, 15 hours a week. He never responds.

    1. Don't sell yourself short...I'm sure MZ thinks you should be better compensated therefore he's insulted at your lowballing yourself. Be a little more generous to yourself.

    2. Right on Rich, I appreciate your honesty.

    3. Seriously, Rich is it easy to land a six figure plus deal in the Bay Area?

    4. @3:29pm: If you have to ask, then you ain't worth it. No.

  6. Not a media question, but this is bothering me. Legality of the man's presence in the USA aside, how is accidentally firing a weapon and killing someone NOT involuntary manslaughter? What is the definition of involuntary manslaughter? Thanks.

  7. At 7pm should I watch KGO TV news on KOFY, or KTVU TV news on KICU?

  9. The 7 PM KGO TV news on KOFY is a replay of the 6 PM airing on KGO 7. The KICU broadcast is live.

  10. Now that Cumulus is bankrupt, isn't it time for the FCC to force them to sell all their licenses at steep discount to LOCAL owners in each market? Restore true competition (in programming and sales) to the radio marketplace.

    1. @6:05pm: You really don't get how the FCC works, do you? They enforce LAWS (sorta, these days), not force corporations to sell off properties. Cumulus MIGHT sell off some stations to ease their debt load, but most likely sell their ownership to another company who will take on their debt. Iheart is their next biggest competitor, but they owe too much as well.
