Fox is planning an "internal review" of its KTVU O and O, 415 Media has learned. The scope of the review isn't known but a group of "high top" network officials, including a NY -based senior exec is scheduling a Bay Area trip within the next few weeks for an "operational audit" of KTVU and its day-to-day business.
The meeting will be attended over a few days and will involve both managers and the Fox execs, according to a local broadcast source.
No word on whether staff will be briefed.
Gees, I just wonder what's on the agenda.
*Developing...
I can just imagine how Kelley and the other KTVU honchos are going to explain Dave Clark to the FOX news execs.
ReplyDeleteJust an excuse to come to the Bay Area.
DeleteThe result will be the Fox execs reaffirming the great work done by HR and the GM. Bet me?
ReplyDeleteNope, because I'm sure you're right.
DeleteI wont either. Because you're right. And they are right. Successful companies others are envious of.
DeleteTheir verdict after the review: "We need to put in more cameras. We still can't see into the last stall in the women's bathroom."
ReplyDeleteFox runs successful companies. Everything will be fine.
ReplyDeleteWould you rather it turn into a KRON or Monkey News? Thats what I thought.
It already IS KRON. Or worse. Actually if KRON got rid of Pero and his ho they’d be relatively ok.
DeleteMore work, less pay, more work, less pay......
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Fox headquarters folks will bring a $ 25 gift certificate and a fruit cake for each employee in lieu of raises for 2018?
ReplyDeleteAgree 100% with 9:12 AM.
ReplyDeleteAgree with 9:12 AM as well. Big companies like Fox hire only the best of lawyers. They don't run afoul of the law very often. I'd surmise that before even before the cameras where installed KTVU sought legal guidance. All that being said I'm not so sure what the big deal with the cameras as long as you bust your ass. You can call the boss an f_cking prick on social media, between employees at break time and the law protects you. Work as hard as, or harder than in the "supposed" glory days of KTVU and you'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteThey don't need to run it by legal. Legal can just stall and drag the case out. The plaintiffs run out of money, Fox has infinitely deep pockets. That's how 95% of cases against big entities are won, actual law be damned.
DeleteCorrect 10:17! That why it's so important to either comply or leave.
DeleteCameras are one thing, but a completely absent boss? At the #1 station in the Bay Area... out at 3p? Talk about coasting -- I guess that's the benefit of being the furthest general manager from New York. (3p? Isn't that 6p in New York... when his bosses leave for the day? What a coinkydink!) It's good to be king! Shouldn't be too hard to check on that.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who thinks it funny that the guy watching his employees and making sure they are working... is the one most guilty of not working?
I’ve had many bosses like that. Most of them, actually.
DeleteRich - You should offer gift cards to employees who send in timestamped photos of his empty parking space during the day! That would be an awesome photo gallery! Put together a time-lapse and send it to the FOX folks.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know how FOX lawyers have fared when dealing with Vacar.
ReplyDeleteEven if they paid him a year's severance, it's all "below the line" accounting wise. Replace him with someone making half as much and all is well.
DeleteDon't know what is worse...KTVU or KRON? Personalities are keaving left and right...now comes the latest Britt Shipp going back to WCAU TV in Philly...
ReplyDeleteRaddy is scared shippless of her. hope she kicks his ass before she leaves!
DeleteAnd in other news...we observe today the sad anniversary of the loss of beloved KGO Newstalk Radio 81.
ReplyDeleteRecall the thousands coming together online in support of one another and the throngs that rallied outside Front St...they will never be forgotten.
Nor will the words famously uttered by the lone remaining host, Mr Lowenstein, "This is a great move. This will make the station stronger. I think it is a wonderful move by Cumulus and Jason Barrett and all management."
Let's take a moment...to fall down in fits of hysteric laughter while wiping tears of indignant rage at those that perpetrated this raping of our airwaves.
