They were first.
I was so riveted by KCBS's coverage I didn't bother to turn on my TV but caught enough coverage later to see what was taking place.
It was an unusual night for KNTV as both Hurd and Mathai went on the air around 1 AM to cover the 4-alarm fire in the Oakland hills; when that was brought under control, they were quickly back on the air within an hour with London Breed announcing the Lee passing and stayed on a good hour and did a tremendous job under the quick circumstances.
Meanwhile, KRON4 was airing infomercials for erectyle dysfunction. What about Reggie Boy on ABC7? He gets his tight little ass in at 0200, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteIf Raj was white, he'd be kicked to the curb long ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but there's no journalistic expertise required to report that someone has had a heart attack and died.
ReplyDeleteThe best coverage in San Francisco comes from a station in San Jose.
ReplyDeleteYou have said it before, being first does not matter. Getting it right and doing a good job does.
ReplyDeleteYou should also commend KCBS for broadcasting the ENTIRE Celebration of Ed Lee's Life at City Hall yesterday. It was wonderful and sad to hear, but without interruptions, only background mention of the next speaker's name, they did a real public service and a real tribute to Mayor Lee.
