NBC Bay Area/Nguyen In Hot Water Over San Jose Presentation High Sexual Misconduct Allegations; Nguyen Solicits Comments From Teen Girls at School on Social Media; 415 Media Wednesday Report

NBC Bay Area's "We Investigate" Unit and its lead reporter, Vicky Nguyen, have come under sharp criticism for their incredibly irresponsible reporting on a story centering on allegations of sexual misconduct (from 20 years ago) involving a teacher and student at San Jose's private, all-girls Presentation High School

The story outlined here in the SJ Mercury News  in a more obvious objective manner of reporting than Nguyen's roughshod hit piece to gain notoriety for her TV station and ratings.  It's one thing to go at it aggressively and pursue the truth; it's another to damn the proper procedures and become hellbent on an agenda. Nguyen's tactics are troublesome at best and quite disturbing at worst.

From the Merc

"The Presentation High School teachers were placed on paid administrative leave after two students and a former student came forward earlier in the week with information regarding two separate, more recent situations — at least one of which was serious enough to warrant a call to police."

The staff at Presentation took immediate action by placing the suspected teachers on leave and conducting an internal investigation of the charges -- I'm not in any way defending the school but I am also pointing out their proper manner of getting to the bottom of the truth, at least for now.

Nguyen and the Investigative Unit present an hysterical, unfair, "you're guilty" thrust at the school without FIRST, checking the facts, however inconvenient to their story's aim.

It isn't fair.

Furthermore, Nguyen's unprofessional conduct soliciting comments from teenage girls at the school without their parents consent is both outrageous and unbecoming. Think of the consequences had a male reporter attempted to talk to teenage girls in person or reached out to them on social media seeking "off-the-record" conversations like Nguyen had done. The action would be considered predatory, they would lose their job and be shamed forever.

    1. Doug Moore would've reported it with his characteristic coolness. He was one cool cat.

  2. We Investigate is really we can't compete with the one man army named Dan Noyes. KTVU even kicked our ass on the Ghost Ship exclusive. NBC Bay Area is in freefall upper management i.e. Keeshan and puppet Androuny are clueless.

  4. These Asian reporters think they can get away with everything just because they were the goody two shoes in school. Always thinking they're better than everybody by getting 4.0 and higher grade point average and by taking all the well high paying jobs. I hope this ethnic gets fired!

    1. Judging from your out-of-nowhere rant about "these Asian reporters" and their scholastic and economic success, it sure sounds like you are the one with the problem, not them.

    2. Oh. it's them damn Asians again! How dare they be so smart and so hard working? They make all of us slackers and oafs look bad.

    3. Yeah, 3:54pm! How dare anyone "get[] 4.0 and higher grade point average" & "tak[e] all the well high paying jobs" [sic]! Achievement is so selfish! Especially by a woman, who should be staying barefoot & pregnant -- who does she think she is?

    4. Hey look, 3 people in a row that didn't get the obvious sarcasm of the initial poster. To add to the stereotype, I've always been told they're book smart but severely lack common sense....

Asians are far from perfect just like everyone else. And have some of the funniest prejudices against other Asian races.

  5. Nothing wrong with what Nguyen did. I've had a few reporters for my hometown weekly message me asking if they could speak to me.

  6. That's a bit harsh and on-called for speech. This has nothing to do with one's ethnicity so stop it!!

  8. Radnich a few minutes ago told Pam Moore that "If she knew what I did for her with management she would be kissing my read end right now". Live on KRON.
Hinting- besides the obvious disrespect- that he makes her career.
She just smiled and told him he's feeling too big for his britches.
    He's Donald Radnich.

11 months into his job...and you're hanging your hat on THIS as The Orange Orangutan's major accomplishment?

Wow..he really IS making America great again!

    3. Nice to see your outrage- that KRON'S Radnich again verbally assaults a female anchor on air..and nothing is done about it. He even made it sound like extortion- That if not for him,she would not have a job at KRON. Even though she's been there 20 years+, so take it or not,I CAN DO WHAT I WANT TO YOU.
Cathy Heenan could have ended that assholes career last year. But,I'm sure that Radnich groveled to her- OFF AIR. Never- not him- apologize on air as he is the bay area Donald Trump.
I don't see how Pam Moore can speak to any woman's group knowing she regularly abused by Gary Radnich and just takes it. I guess that's some form of PTSD eaction after years of laughing off his abuse.

    4. IIRC, Pam Moore's been at KRON longer than Radnich, so this doesn't make sense...

  11. One more thing. Pam Moore did say that "You've been hanging with upper management and feeling big for your britches".
I take that as the white good old boy management at NEXSTAR approves of Radnich verbal abuse? Its what she implied.
It really sounded like NEXSTAR is all for harassment of woman by its male anchors- sports directors. She said it live on TV.

    1. Well,Pam Moore is missing from today's newscasts after yesterday being told by Gary Radnich she "Should be kissing my rear end" He also was giving her the stink eye as he said it. So,no it was no compliment.
Radnich? KRON has him out of the news set. I missed what the excuse is or was.
With so much going on today, what kind of man tells a female anchor to kiss his rear end? Oh,yeah, the one that told her before she "Is only the fourth best anchor in the bay area" and of course the time when he pulled out a dollar out of his pocket after a story on pole strippers and gave it to Moore as in a she- should- start- taking- it- off for him "joke".
      That kind of guy.

  12. Held accountable for something "20 years ago." Why weren't they held accountable 20 years ago??

Eric ABC7 better watch out. The picture of him leaning over and touching Ms. Lim's shoulder with his shoulder, he might be held accountable for sexual harassment 20 years from now!

The next chapter of sexual harassment coming down the pike, male eye placement. "Stop the picture, you see that his eyes are looking directly at her breasts," call the police, get a lawyer, how awful. That is visual sexual harassment...just terrible!

I have often wondered if Meriwether Lewis or Clark had molested or sexually harassed Sacajawea during their journey (1804 to 1806) from St. Louis to the Pacific coast and back to St. Louis. Someone should investigate. If they did their bones should be dug up and held accountable!!!

    2. 5:11...Don't have a job. The Feds gave me $35,000 last year for not doing anything. They also gave me enough money to pay my home loan off.

You have to learn how to play the system, the money is there, you have to figure out how to get it. It's not easy, but it is doable!

      Are you a wage slave?
