415 Media Top 5 Bay Area TV Weather Anchors

MY TOP 5...

2. Paul Deanno: KPIX : As good as it gets, Deanno delivers a superb, crisp, straight-forward forecast packed with non-gimmick ammo and does so ever so smooth. Every day. Weather minutiae is boring but Deanno makes even the most mundane factoid interesting.

3. Steve Paulson: KTVU: I have cooled (no pun) lately on the Channel 2 morning weatherman but Paulson is consistent; consistently good. Plus, his ability to show a sense of humor, early in the morning, gets extra credit. Paulson knows his stuff too. Always helpful.

4. Lisa Argen: KGO: I wish KGO would get this no-nonsense at a more primer time but then again, Sunday morning is nice. Argen delivers first-rate forecasts and does so without any pretentiousness and ego --she's also quite fabulous to watch and listen. I do.

Simply stated, Karnow is a very good, smooth, information maniac with a knack for accurate forecasts and a penchant for detail. Good stuff, and boy can KRON use that --among other things.

  1. Dave Spahr at KRON is better than all of these hacks. And half the age of half of them.

    2. Dave Spahr should be the morning weather anchor at KRON, then have James Fletcher take Danon's position full time.

  2. Great choices. Now, how about a dregs list, I vote the dreck of the dreckiest, new weather person at PIX, good 'ole Ned. She's bleached and bland, breathless, gasping to keep up with the teleprompter. Yeah, gotta rack, but, clothes? She looked like a skunk in that black dress with a wide white stripe top to bottom.

  3. The Lisa Argen photo looks like Attack of the 50-Foot Woman...

  4. No argument here, Patel is a pro, she has a nice way of making the weather sound good.
Rich, watching Lisa Argen on Sunday is a great way to wake up, my lovely bride really likes her delivery.

  5. Yeah,Sandya's great. But so is Rob Mayeda at KNTV with lots of original weather charts and stats.
What gets me when they cant even get the current weather right..like KRON. Or,when they skip from Oakland to San Jose..like KRON.
Or, when KRON is being KRON.
