415 Media Exclusive; Paranoia Intensifies at KTVU; Kelley's Illegal Fence Irks Oakland; Siege Mentality at Fox 2 With HR Boss Nohr Prime Instigator with GM's Blessing

Related image I'VE REPORTED about the paranoia that permeates KTVU , the Fox2 O and O ...where management has taken employee privacy rights to the ultimate test.

There's internal security operations that are perfectly legit; in every media building in the country, surveillance cameras are commonplace and quite the norm. At KTVU, there's 54! cameras in and around the office. That's crazy.

Paranoia.

Now, 415 Media has learned through independent sources, that this paranoia has reached epic proportions. How much? KTVU's mysterious GM, Gregg Kelley, installed an illegal fence outside the back of the KTVU building in Jack London Square along the Oakland estuary. Kelley wanted to prevent path walkers from approaching the building. As if, what? Was he thinking they'd be stealing secret Fox documents?

Good lord.

Kelley had a problem because the city of Oakland had the fence removed because fences are not allowed near the path and several pieces were removed to open it up in compliance.

Kelley didn't stop there and was undeterred --415 Media has learned that Kelley ordered that the carded employee entrance gate be physically moved from the side of the fence to the rear directly under Kelley's office. This was done on purpose so that Kelley would monitor employee movement from his desk. In fact, the angle was tested enough times so that Kelley wouldn't have to turn his head to watch people entering and leaving.

Did I say paranoia?

So now and intentionally planned, there is no way to leave the KTVU building without directly going under HR Boss, Chris Nohr, in the front and Kelley's window in the back. Station workers now try to leave through the camera-monitored news vehicle as often as possible but they (Kelley and Nohr) have limited card access to that too.

Did I mention paranoia?

**My information on this (and some other stories) comes from KTVU sources who provided the information and asked for anonymity because the information is sensitive.

KTVU, I'm told, specifically Kelley and Nohr, are so annoyed of the leaks that they have begun an internal search to find out who leaked it. Managers have been asking around and, according to one station source, Kelley and Nohr have looked at certain employee phone records to see who's leaking station info.

No need for that, I'll tell you guys. But don't tell anyone else: it's Gumby.

  1. Headline: "Fox Owns KTVU". Old time KTVU types who can't abide by the Fox ways (please note the FOX logo on your checks)should feel free to "further pursue their careers elsewhere". I'm not a hard ass, but I'm guessing that FOX didn't give a damn about the old KTVU culture, they just wanted the broadcast rights. It was Cox Communications which sold station to Fox and with that, the culture...if folks want to be pissed off vent in the direction of Cox.

    2. I'm confused?? What kind of "penis" is a Cox. Does the capital "C" mean it's a big one? What's it look like?

  2. That's not entirely accurate. 21CF refused to renew affiliation, leaving Cox the option to trade stations or have two unaffiliated stations in a climate of tanking TV ad revenues. Serious hardball, Cox had little choice.

  3. Thank goodness for satellite TV. You have a choice. You don't have to watch Fox Paranoia 2.

  4. There is so much wrong with KTVU and so many people mad at KTVU that Kelley probably just wants to keep his employees safe. LOL

  5. IIRC, 21CF had talks with KRON before Cox sold them the place.

  6. It's obvious. When they're not busy raiding a foot locker the brainwashed liberal snowflakes are breaking windows, looting, and setting buildings on fire. All in the name of "progress". Too much security is never a bad thing.

  8. I am sure the folks at KTVU will be glad to hear the HR person is basically a corporate snitch. What a lovely place to work LMFAO!

  9. I'm confident that the HR person can balance the employee advocate role with looking out for corporate interest. Advocating for the employees starts with their being their for the hours they are scheduled to work and not abusing breaks. As 1:47 above says, the old KTVU culture is gone and I bet Fox does this (security cameras, a close watch on who comes and goes, etc.) at all their sites. The concern should be is Fox 2 out of step with Fox overall, not how Fox 2 compares to the old KTVU.

  10. The job of HR is to protect the company from it's human resources. That has always been the case. Chris Nohr is just doing her job. Villainizing her is misguided, she takes orders from the higher ups.
