*Sandhya Patel; KGO-TV/ABC7: Right off the top, she's both smart and informative, best of all, gets right to the point and gives viewers most up-to-date information with no silly side talk, disingenuous chatter and useless weather-geek speck like so many others. Patel was a late study for me and I always put her on the back burner. But she's made leaps and bounds the last few years and has shined during her lengthy apps on KGO's newscast during the North Bay firestorms --cuts right to the chase. Patel too was one of only a few who accurately said winds weren't necessarily going to whip up Thursday but the weekend would be another story.
*I've always liked KPIX's sturdy, Paul Deanno, who delivers a straight-talk, no-nonsense weather report; crisp, intelligent, and devoid of any phony verbal mush.
Deanno's weather DNA has been especially solid during this week when actual weather forecast was most needed. Another thing: many people assume those who talk a lot during their weather forecast are interesting. Deanno doesn't stretch his time and he is entertaining and interesting. Go figure.
CNN saw in her what you did Rich. Thankfully for the circle 7 viewers, she didn't jump ship. Paul too does a nice job getting to the point. A shame Robbie didn't follow his lead. She could have been an icon, not!!!!
ReplyDeleteSandhya is probably my favorite weather guesser, for all the reason you stated Rich.
ReplyDeleteI have a mini crush on Lisa Argen, seems like the kind of gal you could have a drink and a toke with.
Boy are you wrong on LA!
DeleteAgree, 10:13. As always Kerr is an idiot.
DeletePaulson would have been on the top of this list just last week. So he's a little tired and made an arguably "cold" comment and he's persona non grata? His weather updates are STILL very informative and straight to the point without the "OMG" over dramatics you get with others wetting themselves over a change in our usually boring weather.
ReplyDeleteSandyha is a people person who does a constant stream of twitter updates.
ReplyDeleteI never see any from Deano. I guess KPIX isn't much of a tweet station.
Watched Paul Deanno for the first time this week and was very impressed. No nonsense reporting and no rambling on and on like Bill Martin tends to do.
ReplyDeleteSandhya is the best overall weather anchor as you wrote Rich. I follow her on Twitter and her post are informative, too, If not for Spencer, Sandhya would be the lead at ABC7. Deanno and Jeff Raneri are satisfactory, but Bill Martin is not. X
ReplyDeleteThey were both very good, as well as the weatherman on KTVU.
