ONE OF THE REASONS I LISTEN to KCBS ...is to hear the great Dave Ross, the award-winning (although if you listen enough to Ross, he would lampoon it) Seattle-based syndicated commentator ...who can take 90 seconds of copy and turn it into radio joy.
Ross mixes politics, current events, pop culture and does a daily audio spin with clever word play befitting an Edward R. Murrow award recipient.
His politics skew left but big deal, Ross' punches touch both sides of the aisle; in fact, Ross is an equal opportunity knemmer; he's a rabble-rouser, shit disturber and that alone is worthy of notice in today's horrid political climate.
I thought Paul Harvey was radio commentary gold; Dave Ross is platinum status.
Dave Ross is a class act. I do miss Paul Harvey "Good Day"

ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Rich. Love his commentary so much I subscribe to his podcast so I can revisit antime. And re: his personal politics- he almost seems "independent". He gives good zingers to both makor parties.
ReplyDeleteHis (kind of) predecessor Charles Osgood is a kind of Everyman commentator, something for everybody. Dave Ross has bite and snap and his commentaries are for those sharp enough to get it.
ReplyDeleteGive me Charles Osgood any day over Dave Ross, who comes across as a partisan hack and no where near as eloquent as Charile.
