THE KNBR/CUMULUS CLEANSE has one, possibly two, more would-be victims on its hit list ...After Ray Woodson (who was modestly paid) and a few morsels (Ted Ramey, OK, slightly more a couple of cookies) there's a slash and dash.
No, it appears the morning vomit fest known as "Murph and Mac" are safe (they re-upped last year) but nothing surprises me anymore with Cumulus. No such thing too as "guaranteed contracts."
Think someone you would assume "there's no way they'd can him." Just a hunch. Remember, Cumulus is about to declare BK.
*Tolbert is safe.
*John Lund is a jerk and asswipe but probably safe.
*Fitz and Brooks: Sponsored programming even though no one listens.
Had Murph and Mac on the car radio last week. Made it through 3 minutes before I cried "uncle" and changed stations.

DeleteDare I say it Rich...Gary!!!! HE makes a ton of money wY and ma's or most of the time. On top of that, he is starting to get long in the tooth. Everybody knows that Larry carries the show as it is. I realuze it probably wont happen, but you never know.

DeleteRod Brooks of Fitz & Brooks incredibly has been with KNBR for 20 years now as a sports talk show host starting with KNBR 1050 in August 1997. Brooks has been the only African-American sports talk show host ever on KNBR 680. In terms of racial diversity it would be potentially a really bad look for KNBR to can Brooks even though both Fitz & Brooks are simply horrendous. In addition last

ReplyDeleteOne very obvious name is off the list. He can take his tired old schtick back to KRON 4...or if he had enough brains, he could go out by the Farrallons and do a pirate broadcast. Nobody would listen, except for the sea gulls. It's that way now, so no big transition for him.
