Ronn Owens and Nancy Pelosi on KGO Radio; Ouch; KRON Should Have Been in Berkeley; KPIX Reporters: 'Fresno Chamber of Commerce' Staff; Separated at Birth: Ethan Bearman and Josh Groban; Dennis Richmond Analysis; 415 Media Tuesday Rundown

Image result for San Francisco street names Oh My God: I've heard disjointed interviews and then I heard Ronn Owens broadcast malpractice on KGO Radio this (Tuesday) morning with SF House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi.

Two things: The Democrats are in trouble if Pelosi is still considered cachet ...and two, sorry, but Ronnnnnn sounds like crap. Maybe the manicures have become too intense.

Image result for Nancy PelosiIn other words, what a pathetic interview; more like a 15-min bore with the usual endless commercials that were more interesting than the interview. Pelosi sounds like crap too but at least she's got a better gig, for now.

*Ronnnnnnnnn has definitely settled into the abyss; arrives 30 minutes before air time and leaves fast and furious a minute after noon.

Sad.

Image result for ethan bearman kgo*On that busy Friday night last week when hell descended on Texas; Trump pardoned Sheriff Joe and a top aide resigned...KGO's sickening Ethan Bear!man was talking to his yenta sidekick; she, of the most annoying voice in the history of the world; the gruesome twosome were discussing French fries in France, I swear to God and KGO PD, Mike Anthony should be sentenced to ten years at Folsom.

*Speaking of Bearman: separated at birth: Josh Groban.

*Thursday promises to be a very busy night at Broadway/Battery media hangout, Grumpy's...when it's the end of the month at Cumulus, lots of people get scared and thus, hammered ...with a capital H

Image result for KPIX building*The current crop of KPIX reporters looks like the staff of the Fresno Chamber of Commerce.

*It doesn't matter what kind of news there is out there; KRON has built its already shaky latest branding on being the "Bay Area's News Station" Then, KRON should have been reporting last Sunday from the studio and a reporter in Berkeley at the hullabaloo --they have no excuse now because corporate has poured a few bucks into the ragtag independent; instead KRON was broadcasting infomercials; a money grab.

They will always be the albatross until further notice. Don't hold your breath.

*Hey, birdbrains: Uh, duh, KNBR is a sports station; and a lousy one at that but that's a different topic; the yahoo schmuck in the morning brought up Houston and tried to inject a sports angle into an ongoing tragedy of mass suffering --it's downright horrific now.

Image result for Happy faceDon't tell me it was perfectly fine for the pathetic Southern Marin moron to ask such a stupid, thoroughly INAPPROPRIATE question that HAD NO PLACE. You're ALL SO WRONG, it's not even close. I'm right. You guys are CLUELESS. But have a happy day.

*KCBS: used to be run like a news station. Now it sounds like an entertainment station injecting humor into non-humor moments.

Maybe the KGO infestation is taking a toll. I'm not saying KCBS sounds bad just that its news repertoire has been diluted --and that's too bad.

*Yeah, Dennis Richmond looked a little rough but he's earned the right to look a little rough.

Richmond should be admired for being able to last more than forty years in a business that is not so forgiving; where conflict is an everyday occurrence and ego seems to get in the way of common sense and logic.

Dennis was a pro and always put out his very best when the light went on; he was not the most gracious man and had a habit of coming off as both arrogant and dismissive.

Plus, he had off-camera issues and became even more distant and guarded almost to the point of boorishness.

If Owens, Pelosi and Willie Brown got together, the way their hands shake, we could have a check-signing contest.

  2. I just watched the Dennis Richmond interview from last week. Yeah, he looked a bit rough (after so many surgeries, I would too!), but gosh it was great to see him on the air again, even for a moment. He is really missed!!

  3. Who is that Indian fella in the bottom picture?

  4. Hmmmm. Dennis Richmond is now an old guy and looks it. There is nothing evil about that and you praise him for his decades of successful teleprompter reading. Why do you attack the appearance of Cheryl Jennings, who also labored in t.v. news and anchoring for decades? The men get a pass for looking like the geezers they are and the women don't. That's not right. In fact, it's bullshit.

  5. Rich, where is the criticism of Larry Baer, the Giants announcers, and the KNBR morning show? My day is not complete without that nonsense!

  6. KRON 4 IS the Bay Area News Station!!! That said, they ONLY just broadcast from 4am - 10am, then from 5 pm - 7pm and finally from 8pm to 11pm.

This OVER 11 hours of broadcasting per weekday. They did cover the Berkeley "hullabaloo" as well as the Harvey storm in Texas....only not in PRIME TIME like the other local and national stations. What a joke!

    1. Yeah, but the news is repeated over and over again, the stories are simplistic and offer no hard journalist depth, the writing is terrible, and there are multiple errors be it spelling, grammar, graphics or technical in each newscast.

      THIS!
You've succinctly outlined the reasons why no one should expect anything more from KRON.

  8. KNBR morning dude - Bert with the fat head - was again exposed as the dufus that he is. Not to mention the Marin sweater around the neck. Masculine.

  9. Some of these stations remind me of the single news guy on that television show WRKP in Cinncinati.

    1. They have more "half people" than any other station. I call them the "barricade dwellers," always hiding behind their barricades, afraid to come out.

On the other side of the coin, Heather Holmes displayed "perfectly" during an interview she gave on the 4pm News.

A picture is worth a thousand words. If it has a picture of a beautiful woman with great legs, it's priceless.

Intelligent attractive women displayed properly, a winning combination...ask Fox!

  11. Oh boy- Radnich just garbled everything on his 6:45. He got names wrong -Derick Stafford instead of Matt, scores wrong, innings wrong. Actually more then I can remember. He spent more time saying "Uh,excuse me that's..."
What gets me- it was right there on the teleprompter and scrolled on the TV. See, its like he just walked in 5 minutes earlier and winged it. Or did.

    3. I see,you don't say it didn't happen!..just your boy Radnich needs some fake "help".
Its just about everyday now,he gets teams, scores, days, all wrong. Like he cant be bothered to read or take advice.

    4. You need to seek professional help for your Radnich obsession. Why do you continue to watch someone who bothers you so much??

    5. 1215- Take your own advice. Stop posting or reading me. Is Raddy your buddie? No? Then shut up.
      Only for you 1215-

SPEAKING OF RADNICH...last night he called himself "KING" and announced something about being on every KRON show they have. No reason why he's doing the Guinness world record type thing. Or even if he meant it.
"King". King of all thats wrong with the sports media. Figures too, like Trump no.824, Radnich goes to superlatives all the time. Its a wonder he didn't claim he's a "FABULOUS KING". Gary likes to say "fabulous" all the time...

    6. Stan@656pm: 5 minutes? Radnich gets a 3-minute countdown prior to his segments over the station intercom. They've gone down to 30 seconds to air most days. We just know never to use the elevator when the countdown occurs.

  12. Rich-as a Fellow Left of Center Bay Area Democrat I absolutely agreement with your frank assessment of Nancy Pelosi. Dianne Feinstein who is 84-years-old already has plans to run for
re-election as Senior US Senator from CA next year. She just had a big re-election fundraiser at Epic Restaurant in SF last week co-emceed by 83-year-old Willie Brown along with 84-year-old John Burton. Pelosi is 77-years-old & is a virtual shoo-in to run once again for her US congressional Seat From SF that
she won back in 1987. CA Governor Jerry Brown is 79-years-old & would definitely run again for CA State Governor in 2018 but due to term limits Jerry Brown is ineligible to run again. At
least soon to be 77-year-old Barbara Boxer decided enough is enough & did not run for re-election in 2016 as US Junior Senator from CA paving the way for Kamala Harris to be
our new US Junior Senator from CA. Basically the facts I raised are self-explanatory--Pelosi, Feinstein & the other Old
Democrats(the exception finally being Boxer) have been so addicted to political power that they are extremely reluctant to allow younger Democrats to take over their imperial reigns.
BTW Rich-you're also absolutely spot-on about soon to be 72-year old Ronnnnn Owens who definitely sounds like lifeless crap. Keep up the great work Rich!

  13. If well-respected singer Josh Groban were to look at the lookalike comparison above, he would be completely mortified, especially after finding out who the doofus is that looks like him. That and Owens' ailment sounding worse and worse, and you have a station that really doesn't care about its region at all.

I don't seeing the remaining CA political elders going anywhere until the Hairpiece is removed one way or another. So it could be as long as another half-decade of Feinstein & Pelosi.

KRON is still scared of Pero & the Bentley, and nothing will change until upper management has the guts to remove one or both.

Fresno is more respected than you might think, Rich. They don't have an inferior complex with the Bay Area, but they sure do with Sacramento thanks to their mutual Highway 99 politics.

KNBR-wise, we need more Lockstep Larry bashing, and maybe a meal or online one-on-one between Lieberman & Dill to hear his opinion about the current state of his beloved station, especially in the mornings and reminiscing about doing the ads himself more often than others.

Brandwynne (who briefly worked with McElhatton at PIX), Simpson (became a KSFO personality), and Griffith all felt Richmond's detail-oriented self-pressure-packed wrath. Corral simply wanted to move to LA and act, and of course, Haener is seeing Somerville entering his second decade as her co-anchor. No matter the personality controversies, I still believe that FOX and its News Channel owes an eternal debt to ol' Dennis. Don't know how respected NYC, LA, DFW, Houston (thoughts and prayers to them), and other more allegiant local FOX news anchors were and are, but Dennis Richmond set the blue print for all other FOX affiliates to follow. Unfortunately, respect and dignity are likely non-existent, and FOX continues to make a mockery of 'Fair & Balanced'. Unlike Richmond, who didn't suffer any fools, FOX continues to embraces too many fools at their stable. Such foolish people and their egos plus multiple back surgeries and the changing climate among TV affiliates make for a more rough Dennis Richmond. He has earned his retirement.

  14. Dennis has to be in his mid-70s. Great to see him on TV again; the 10 pm news on 2 was the only news I watched for years because of him and Elaine Corral. Now days everything is a diseased mess with everyone screaming about breaking news this and that. The phrase has no meaning really anymore. 2 is also a shadow of itself unfortunately.

KRON is just something else. I don't think they have the people to pull off extended coverage like the other guys do around the clock. From the little bits and pieces I have seen, they seem to invest resources in their primetime coverage with everything else just filling up the time.

  16. Gosh I haven't listened to KGO in so long its not even funny. I really cant see wasting my time or energy on something as boring as b-list comidians and a morning guy that sounds like death warmed over. Then there's the whole idea that some out of state mega company came in and sliced to ribbons that once great station and terminated some of the best on air talent in the country. Cumulus.....KGO piss off !!!

  17. You some national? Chuck Todd just insulted Casey Hunt on MSNBC. She ended her show with a half smile "Here's Chuck Todd with MTP dailey". He came back "Thanks hon, nice job!"..She shook she was so mad.
Woo- telling a woman anchor a condescending "Thanks hon"? That's something Radnich hasn't even done.

  18. as far as i know, pelosi is the only speaker who has kept her gig after losing as big as she has. i know she is good at raising money....but if candidates lose, what is the point? and she sounds old....the dems need a speaker to excite the base
the world could be ending and kgo would still be doing silly happy talk and fodder for a sunday morning during drive time

  19. I wish ABC7 would give Ama Daetz an early and VERY long maternity leave. She reads the news as if she receives her emotional cues from the TelePrompTer. Though not nearly in the same league as Caroline Johnson, Kristen Sze has worked hard for the spot and would be a welcome relief from Daetz wooden delivery.
