MAKE NO BONES: Kevin Frandsen, the hand-picked, ex-jock designated wuss and spokesperson for the Larry Baer 25 is pretty awful, pretty shitty --it's the usual standard jock talk that KNBR wants instead of Ray Woodson who was bounced because he had the gall to make decent money and rip the Giants.
Enter Frandsen, who is perfectly crappola--straight out of the booster club and only slightly better than a cow in heat. Frandsen is a robot controlled by Larry Baer and the newest KNBR PD, a guy with a pet tarantula in his office who once tried to impress a comely intern by taking her to the Subway shop across the street. He bought her a six-inch sub and had to go back to his car to get cash to cover the orange soda. In other words, he's a cheap SOB that answers to the famous TWITTMAYER --what a pathetic circus. Frauds, all of them. Welcome to the Jockocracy, 2017 at KNBR/Cumulus.
Hey Kevin, some advice if you want to keep your job - don't EVER say anything negative about the Giants, i.e. make sure you lie a lot...
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to him the last couple weeks. He may not be as erudite as Woodson, but he checks off more of the sportstalk boxes. And he's fairly knowledgeable other than baseball, which surprised me. I'm willing to give him a chance.
ReplyDeleteI said something negative once about the Giants, and it was a zip shit and a fuck you charlie for me. Who knew.
ReplyDeleteFrandsen and Covay together - - giggling empty numbskulls - - laugh like hyenas at each other's brain dead jokes and exchange perfectly SAFE TAKES (in terms of not offending Giants' brass). There is no nuance, no shading, no irony. There is absolutely no insight or new information imparted. It's - by far - the worst Giants post game situation ever! Worse than Michael Urban and FP and that's sayin something!
ReplyDeleteThats not Frandsen and Covay you're thinking of. It's Covay and Hopper whoever that has been all week.
DeleteDrew Hoffer is the adult in the room.
DeleteIn other words, it's a nyuk nyuk nyuk fest. BTW, FP is currently the lead analyst - yep, lead analyst - for the Washington Nationals. Only the G-Men's Blue nemesis has a better National League record than the Nats. Yep, FP is having the last cloud clown laugh.
DeleteI miss Ray. I found his demeanor and self deprecation very pleasant, especially for the time slot. Hope he shows up somewhere on the dial.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear Woodson doing the Warriors post-game show on 95.7. I would actually flip the station after a Warriors game to listen to Ray.
DeleteI don't care how bad Frandsen is, because I won't be listening.
The problem is that his demeanor put most of the audience to sleep. Also he never said anything that most of the listeners didn't already know.
DeleteWe'll see, even though I think Woodson would be better in the currently vacant 10-Noon timeslot on 95.7. I think his show is better suited for a daytime, late morning early afternoon audience. After games you have crazier/rowdier/somewhat drunk callers, so it would be better to have a younger or more passionate host for postgame shows in my opinion. It turns out a lot of people liked Woodson on Sportsphone, and he did a good job there, but I think his type of show is better for an earlier timeslot.
DeleteTownsend and Steinmetz weren't bad for Warriors postgame on 95.7 the past couple of years. I would stick with them doing Warriors postgame for now, even though Townsend is stronger talking baseball.
Does Knbr have a PD? Really?
ReplyDeleteCovay seems to be the replacement on Sportsphone with Hoffer this week. He inserted himself way too much into Woodson's show as it was. Now having his screechy, scratchy, whiny adolescent voice babbling non stop all the time is intolerable- only surpassed in inanity by what actually comes out of that mouth. Hoffer might as well be a ghost for all his lack of presence.
No idea how Frandsen got into this position. There's no discernible talent there, just a guy who, for some reason, wants to talk on the radio. So as an ex player someone at Knbr gives him the job. Brilliant.
