GEORGE NOORY and his enormously popular "
Coast-to-Coast" radio show is coming back to
Bay Area radio beginning tonight (Monday) I have learned, exclusively --Noory's show will be on
KGO Radio ...don't have the exact time but I'm guessing at or around
10 PM local time.
The show will run from 1-5 AM for now on tape delay.
415 Media has an
Exclusive Interview with Mr. Noory; check back later today for this piece and more details on the show.
Too weird and nonsensical for me. Aliens, time travel etc...Is he serious or pulling a fast one on those regular listeners? Might as well live in The Twilight Zone.
ReplyDeleteArt Bell appeared as an apparition in my living room about this, and all he said was "Asshole".
DeleteJohn Bachelor is a good man.
DeleteCumulus received another delisting warning this AM. This doesn't look good.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking they're probably going to have to start selling stations in order to stay afloat. KGO maybe?
DeleteGreat show, good man. It's about damn time.
ReplyDeleteI'm BACK! I'm back inside again. I'M BACK!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very bad news. I work retail at the Stanford Mall, and live in Concord, I often work to 9:30 so driving home I catch the last of Pat Thurston, and then John Batchelor comes on. I lean more left than right, although Pat at times is too liberal for me, but I usually find the John Batchelor show informative and interesting and definitely intelligent, although I don't often agree with the point of view presented. What's more George Noori is on 650 and 1530, both Sacramento stations, that my car radio can pick up on my way home. That leaves only Red Eye on 560, like the Batchleor show they are right wing, but not interesting, they seem shallow and very self righteous, blames everything on liberals. It is too bad that many stations that we can get in the Bay Area carry the same programming, thus narrowing the choices for us listeners.
ReplyDeleteI hope your retail job at Stanford earns you a good enough living to justify your long commute. Have you considered transferring to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek?
DeleteThanks for your concern, I don't totally rely on my Macy's salary, I have other income. I use to work for Macy's at Broadway Plaza for about a year. I have been at Stanford for 7 years,I use to live in Redwood City, the rents on the Peninsula got too expensive, and since I use to live over here and have friends here, I decided to move back. I have put in papers for a transfer several times, but nothing happens. Also if you get transferred they might not match your wages, saying cost of living is less in Contra Costa county. Anyway I might retire soon or move on to my previous career as an insurance agent. A little off the subject, but appreciate your concern, and it is an issue many are faced with in this expensive real estate market, being it buying or renting.
DeleteGeorge Noory isn't on 650. It's Joe Pags midnight to 3 and Jim Bohannon 3-6 AM.
DeleteHe use to be one, but I haven't checked in a long time, since I have no interest in his show. Still comes down to few interesting choices at that time. Wish KGO would make an intelligent decision and put John Rothman on. I think I have heard this Joe Pags a few times, if I have he could not hold my attention.
DeleteSo I guess we're done with John Batchelor for a while.
ReplyDeleteGeorge is a little boring, but his guests are usually quite interesting. I look forward to hearing from Linda Moulton Howe on strange events like the unexplained bee deaths in Colony Collapse Disorder , Whitney Streiber's Alien visitors as seen from his bedroom window, unedited reports about the real number of children and young adults who 'become lost' in our national parks and documented cases of Spontaneous Combustion, where a person is seen to burst into flames for no apparent reason.
He could never replace Ray. There is nothing like waking up at 2AM and hearing Ray take some guy to school about an issue.
ReplyDeleteRay with the George Takei voice. I'm still not convinced he wasn't...
Deletewhen there is a captivating guest like Linda Moulton Howe I can abide the self congratulatory host who seems to think that he is greater than Art Bell. he's a boring guy who opens the show with his Walter Winchell impression delivering 'news' that we heard 2 days ago. he has financial interests in some of the 'guests' that he accommodates in recurring infomercial like appearances.
ReplyDeleteit is incumbent upon most guests to kiss his touches or otherwise build the host's self image as a great broadcaster and humanitarian. he then often steps on their responses to his stale questions because he is not listening to them. he rarely lets the guest off the hook without leading the guest to offer opinions on how bad things can get and how soon it could get that way.let's all synchronize our watches to the next projected doom's day. what doom is awaiting us in 2012?
opps! sorry! this must be another rerun...
I did not realize the Bay Area was without a C2C affiliate for at least a year! After 910 changed from talk to to ESPN Deportes last summer, it dropped C2C.
ReplyDeleteIt was a similar situation as "The Savage Nation" briefly in 2003 then 2009-12: Bay Area listeners could pick up those shows on Sacramento AM stations - Savage on 650 and C2C on 1530 - instead of SF stations.
KSRO 1350 Santa Rosa broadcasts C2C live from 10pm-2am then replays the show 2-5am.
DeleteCrapola!
ReplyDeleteJohn Batchelor rocked for those of us into deeeep policy issues and old tyme war stories. It was my N.Korea fix with Gordon Chang and Prof Cohen.
You can hear C2C on a jillion AM stations each night.
No Bueno!
By Cohen are you referring to THE Stephen Cohen? Is he a frequent guest on Batchelor? I enjoy the bejesus out of Cohen whenever I've heard his analysis vis a vis Russia.
DeleteCorrect. The guy that lived in Russia.
DeleteBatchelor's show is superb. ... Most of his guests are great.
DeleteJohn Batchelor has a great podcast that is his radio show out of WABC in New York City. They usually show up downloaded after 10:00 pm pacific time. I NEVER miss them. His show is always interesting.
DeleteI bet Rush is just around the corner for KGO.....
ReplyDeleteJust a educated guess.
KSFO gets all the loony talk 24/7...KGO isn't quite there yet.
DeleteMSNBC gets the looney talk on television, KQED and the female KGO hosts in the evening here on the airwaves.
DeleteAnd Fox News has looney talk 24/7, especially that prime time lineup. BTW, BillO's taking a 2 week vacation. Doubt if he'll be back.
DeleteKSRO has a pretty decent night signal in Marin (of course) but also in the East Bay, the city, and down the peninsula a little ways.
ReplyDeleteKSRO is also the AM North Bay home of the Warriors!
ReplyDeleteWell, one boring show replacing another boring show. Can KGO get anything right now? I'd settle for John and Jeff over bigfoot talk any day. I want local, that's why I want Armstrong & Armstrong (or is it Getty & Getty?)canned. Give me mediocre news for 5 hours over these dipshits.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't any Bigfeet. In order to have a Bigfoot you need a colony of Bigfeet, to produce that Bigfoot. A mother and father, plus their mother and father, etc, etc.
DeleteMy entire life I have heard about UFO sightings, all over the World. I would have thought by "now" someone/something would have landed and said, "Take me to your leader." Not once!!
The more mainstream thinking in regards to Bigfoot or Bigfeet as you put it is that they are interdimensional. That's why it's tough to find them. The world and universe has far more things we don't understand than those that we do.
DeleteSounds like we might still get John Batchelor from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. I'm the one commuting from Palo Alto to Concord most night during the week after 9 p.m. so I'm relying on the radio to keep my entertained and informed, and sometimes awake after a long day. By one 1 a.m. I'm asleep, having said that I still think it is bad news to have George Noori on KGO, I don't get his program, and he can be heard on other stations in the area. Still comes down to less choice for the audience, kind of like with many companies merging, we are on their mercy. Art Bell use to be on KSFO and Barbara Simpson (any idea how she is doing, anyone?) often filled in for him. I use to listen to Barbara on KSFO on week end, not really a fan of her politics, but still listened. Of course when she filled in for Art Bell, we still had the old KGO with Gene Burns to 10 p.m. then John Rothman and then Ray. I guess it too much to think KGO would put John on from 10 to 1 like he use to be. He has lots of fans (including myself and Rich) judging from the calls he gets when he is on.
ReplyDeletethe fix may be in for C2C to uproot Batchelor in the 10 o'clock. best remedy for all concerned? flip Batchelor to KSFO in place of that Glen Beck clown.
ReplyDeleteI AM SO DISAPPOINTED!! John (Ambien) Batchelor is still on at 10.
ReplyDeleteI was so looking forward to hearing my pals on Coast to Coast before bed. Now I hear it won't be on until ONE 'O CLOCK IN THE GODDAMN MORNING!!!! From my view, nothing has changed at all.
C2C from 1 am to 5 am? That means boring Batchelor will still be droning on from 10 pm to 1 am. BORING. I listen to C2C on a radio KFI in Los Angeles in real time. It puts me to sleep. Sometimes I even catch Jennifer Jones Lee who comes on at 5 am.
ReplyDeleteWho cares? He's the pied piper of tin-foil hats everywhere. No wonder our country is circling the drain -- people listen to this quack and swallow every sci-fi fiction he vomits up.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing on coast2coast bar none was John B Wells. I stopped listening when they cut him loose.
ReplyDeleteDave Coursey tells me John B Wells was also the one time voice of KRLD in Dallas, the so called "Voice of God".
