Before and during the presidential campaign, Donald Trump was a frequent guest on the Michael Savage Show --interviews like this one were almost routine and Savage regularly touted his show to listeners as Trump's exclusive radio outpost.
Of course the election came and Trump scored an electoral landslide; and Savage has repeatedly proclaimed his show had a lot to do with it.
And it did.
Trump has curiously not done the Savage show since the election and the bombastic, SF-based talk-show host and author is furious --and has said as much, ripping Trump and his advisors with regularity --"He has betrayed my millions of listeners, the very people that voted for him, " said Savage recently on the air. (Heard locally on KSFO Noon-3 PM)
More than likely, Trump's people were non-too-thrilled over Savage's criticism of some of the President-elect's cabinet choices. At least that's the word on the street. Looks like Savage isn't alone in that department.
Trump himself invited Savage to the inauguration --and now Savage has said he will not be going back to Washington for the event.
Stay tuned for the latest, this whole thing could get interesting.

HA! WHAT A SHOCK! TRUMP LIED TO SOMEONE!
ReplyDeleteGet used to it!
Dr Savage knows what's best for America. We should all bask in his Glory, for it is Dr Savage who shall set us free. Oe Amazing Grace...
DeleteTrump. A liar and schemer and thin skinned. Expect four years of that. From small stuff like this to...war and apartheid politics.
ReplyDeleteStan, you gotta get over your obsession with skin.
DeleteLOL 3:51 ! Funny...but true.
DeleteTrump uses people and then discards them. Look at his past wives. Or more recently look at how he used Chris Christie, Ben Carson and Newt Gingrich. Trump used Savage. Now that he doesn't need Savage any more, he kicks him to the curb. You'd think Savage, who constantly tells his audience how intelligent he is, would have figured that out before getting into bed with Trump.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand? Why doesn't Savage man up and go to the inauguration and tell Trump right to his face?
ReplyDeleteEh,has anybody seen Trump in public? Scary..scary, scary, scary. The silence screams.
No, that screaming is just the voices in your head.
Delete"...'scuse me while I kiss the sky."
DeleteTwo-timing Trump has made a pigeon out of another prominent loyalist. Consistent with the pattern, and another Nixon-like trait that Trump the Terrible possess. But Nixon actually had considerable political experience when he was elected President. In his new job, Trump is just a charlatan. Sadly, the charade is already getting ugly.
ReplyDeleteThe only good part of the Trump Presidency will be watching his followers get irate when he fails to keep any of his ridiculous promises.
ReplyDeleteGood for Jackie Sissel. A hard-working guy who is making the smart move to jump off the ship before it's completely sunk.
Savage also got kicked to the curb by one of his major affiliates, WMAL in DC.
ReplyDeleteHe's not upset about the lack of appearance on the show, he's upset about the cabinet choices. He wants molotov cocktail throwing iconoclasts. But Paul Ryan and Mike Pence are actually running the government so team party loyalists are SOL
ReplyDeleteLook at all of the sore losers, how cute.
ReplyDeleteNot so cute was watching Testy Trump's latest Twitter tantrum, over the trivial recount issue. It was similar to the one he threw after Megyn Kelly asked some fairly tough questions during a debate.
DeleteAgain this week, Newt Gingrich was beside himself while trying to explain how our man-child President-Elect needs to be more restrained and mature during his internet playtime. Bill O'Reilly made a brief implication on the subject. Karl Rove went into more detail regarding Tempestuous Trump's impulsivity and overall poor judgement while Tweeting. They all offered some fatherly advice to the 70-year-old soon to be leader of the free world. Some have suggested that our new POTUS may need to be grounded from the internet, as activities like Tweeting may be a little too big-boy for him.
I wonder how the hothead with the bad hair is going to react when he is bombarded by REAL presidential shit. Detractors and supporters have their voiced concerns on that matter. When those critical things happen, and they are going to happen, this apprentice politician cannot light up like a pinball machine and fly off the handle.
Savage is only as important as he makes himself out to be. In other words, a legend in his own mind. Trump is very busy now and Savage wants special treatment? Stop your whining Savage. The Ronnnnnn man had the same attitude when Obamma wouldn't grant an interview and was butt hurt as well. Get over it. You guys are radio jocks, nothing more, no importance in the big picture.
ReplyDeleteNo Ronn didn't exactly have the same attitude, he mentioned several times that Obama had PROMISED an interview if he was elected President, I heard that show. Ronn didn't rant and rave, he never attacked Obama personally, only his positions. Was Ronn a little pissed or at least disappointed, yes. Did Trump actually promise Savage he would continue to come on his show if elected? Everything changes the moment you are President elect, perhaps Savage is too controversial for Trump to be too closely associated with him, now that he has to worry about everyone, just not his base. Problem with Savage, he thinks because he has a highly rated show, majority of the country think like he does.
DeleteWhen are people going to quite calling Trump the president-elect? He isn't the president-elect, until the electoral college finishes voting and their final vote tally MAKES him the president elect! Right now, he's simply the winner of the November 8th election. With three state recounts in progress, not even his final tally of electoral-college electors is known.
DeleteThat is just semantics, but of course your are technically correct. My point was to point out the difference between Ronn's reaction and Savage's, and even if Trump is just President elect in waiting, my point is still the same, he is acting like President elect, which means he is very busy, and Savage is probably not on the top of his list.
DeleteDel,
DeleteThe press, and numerous other people, have designated him the President-Elect because Abominable Donald will easily have enough votes in the Electoral College. As 9:12 wrote, you're technically correct, it's not "official." With regard to the recount, though, there really isn't much hope that the results are going to be drastically different from the tally on election week. Being stuck with soon-to-be President Apprentice is a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people, especially in the Northeast and on the West Coast.
Donald just wants to remind Mike "Hey, Bud, thanks for your advice and support, but guess what? You don't own me. I'll call you when I can call you. Capice?" Norway and Sweden were also bent out of shape b/c Donald was 'tardy' returning their calls to congratulate him on the big win.
ReplyDeleteI equate Savage supporting Trump with the Jews who helped the Germans in the concentration camps, or the Vichy French. That a Nazi used a Jew and then stabbed him in the back is no surprise at all.
ReplyDeleteExactly...
DeleteWhy do you keep giving kudos to this egomaniacal ass-wipe Savage? He's a dysfunctional, out of control jerk-off who thinks his own farts don't smell. He is also unfortunately typical of the kind of 'talk-show' host (if you want to call him that), that these lame-brained consultants hire for jobs these days. No wonder our country voted for Trump. With people like Savage brainwashing these pea-brained nit wits in middle America, this country has sadly gone to the dogs!
ReplyDeleteThat's what put him in the Radio Hall of Fame and made him a multi-millionaire. How about you, been clipping any coupons lately.
DeleteYears ago Trump persuaded Don Imus to host a charity event in Atlantic City.
ReplyDeleteBut then to save money Trump booked Imus into a cheap hotel, not his fancy one.
Imus found out about it and hit the roof, and Trump was forced to call in and change the reservation on the air.
Mike clearly doesn't carry the same clout as Imus.
Savage fears that if he isn't upset at someone/something, then no one will listen to his show. It's just that in many markets that is making little difference.
ReplyDeleteDoes Savage seriously think Trump cares about him? LMAO, too funny. BTW, has Savage reported on the fact that the swamp is not only not being drained, but is being restocked with new, more corrupt, more dangerous critters?
ReplyDeleteWhen you're up to your ass in alligators, it's hard to remember that your original objective was to drain the swamp.
DeleteFor a self-proclaimed non-politician, Trump sure does seem to know how the political game is played: Promise to drain the swamp and then give them downtown Alviso, at high tide, during a week of torrential rain.
Only Savage could make a story about not doing something.
ReplyDeleteFunny how the national media has completely ignored Savage in all of its Trump stories, while giving Laura Ingraham a lot of exposure.
Shame on you for normalizing a hater like Savage. There is nothing to admire about such a man. Now we have another full-fledged hater on his way to the White House, another "entertainer" who will soon be busy taking our rights away.
ReplyDeleteSavage, like the other talkers, got ratings and Trump got exposure and Trump hasn't done any radio since his astonishing victory.
ReplyDeleteSavage is just being his usual whiny self.
Savage and Trump deserve each other. Both of them are sociopathic, racist swine. I was through with psycho Savage many years ago when he bad-mouthed WW2's legendary Tuskegee Airmen during an anti-black tirade on KSFO.
ReplyDeleteAnd what about Savage's love affair with pedophile poet Alan Ginsberg? Stanford U's library has copies of their lurid correspondence, but gutless Lieberman won't post comments about it.
The only respectable hosts that hate radio sewer ever had were Jim Eason and Geoff Metcalf. Going through the Middle East wars without Geoff's expert military commentary was a huge loss for KSFO's listeners.
You are off your left wing rocker. Your spurious rhetoric reveals your bias. "Hate sewer"? The hate seething from the unhinged orifices of the left wingers is the only real hate. Sewer? How about the profanity and terrorist threats flying from the foaming mouths of people like Madonna and Ashley Judd?
DeleteTrump just got the job. He hasn't had the time to do post election radio interviews.Nor should he do any. His radio spots were for the purpose of helping him get elected. That was the whole point. Now he has the job. He will be busy from here on out working. (And trying to get the BBQ stains out of the white house dining room). This may seem shocking to you brain dead robotic liberals. He's going to be doing his job. This will be a great change from our last golfer, beer drinking, hoops playing neophyte. A simple thank you is all Savage needs and an invitation to the inauguration was just that. You left wing dumb bunnies can spend the next four years stirring up fake controversies and eating your steady diet of sour grapes, crow and humble pie.
