What do you say to people who blindly believe Fox News and Trump, saying the accusations of sexual misconduct against him are a Clinton/Media conspiracy?
I mean, it's all right there in front of them in Trump's own words/actions over the last 30 years.
There's nothing to say to these people because they have hardened beliefs and have no room to believe otherwise.
The notion that these media companies "meet secretly" to "plot" is laughable --look at the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal --broke by the WASH POST --was that a "plot?"
The right-wing echo machine uses terms like "Mainstream" media but refrain when the MSM breaks stories to their liking.
No, those people aren't stupid just hellbent on believing in something that does not exist.
Rich won't post this comment because it proves his point wrong but I'll type it again, the Wash Post isn't the same Wash Post it was 20 years ago. See: Wikileaks this past week.
What's more interesting is when the Lewinsky affair happened conservatives wanted to impeach Clinton. Trump does far worse and they say, "He's not running for pope."
Psychiatrists have a term for this: cognitive dissonance.
Those were the conservatives of 18 years ago. You know, the losers. And it's fascinating that the libs that have no problem with Bill's provable (DNA on the dress) behavior are crapping themselves over unproven (and getting shakier by the minute) allegations against Trump.
But then, that's the game...Teddy Kennedy, Bill Clinton...liberal women will look the other way as long as they voted properly.
I suffer from the occasional bout of insomnia and so turn on the radio in the middle of the night. But no matter what station I turn to I hear the same public service commercials over and over again during the breaks. I can recite the add copy verbatim for each of these because I have suffered through them hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times. What happened to regular advertising of products on radio? How much revenue comes from these same public service spots? Prisoners of War could be driven to spill their guts if they had a steady diet of this stuff.
I assume you're referring to such ads as "Kars4Kids" and "Dinovite"--the truth is those ads are well-funded and bring in millions of dollars to radio stations so they will blare on and on and on as long as the $$ keep coming in.
Now that it has come out via Wikileaks that big media is in the pocket for Hillary Clinton..from the NY Times giving her veto power over which comments of hers to print or not print, the Washington Post working behind the scenes to have her elected and dig up dirt on the opposition and various other examples where we can see that journalists no longer report the facts but are hacks for the DNC...now that all of that has been exposed, how can we be certain that Rich Lieberman is not a paid shill for KNBR and hasn't been using reverse psychology on us these past few years with his constant ripping of the sports leader?
Hi Rich--I haven't seen KRON's steady Long-Time News GA reporter Jeff Bush on the air for over 6 months. Jeff was a fixture on KRON's late evening broadcasts. Is he taking a sabbatical or did he quietly left KRON? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work Rich! Cary SF
KPIX has flatlined after a so-so burst early summer; they're just surviving ...KGO is better than average...KTVU still #1 but their product is lousy and unremarkable.
There have been programs on KQED that I used to watch quite a bit, entertainment and political. I enjoy "This Week in Nor California" a newsy roundtable with various journalists. I also like Gwen Ifill on PBS. After that, a few Masterpiece Theatres and cooking shows. That's about all my KQED menu.
I know you don't like it, but I love 'Check, Please Bay Area'. Again I am REALLY surprised that you have not appeared on the show... You'd have to come better than Tommy's Joynt tho. There's still a lot to like on KQED tho.
Rich, please answer this question...How does Roberta keep her job???? For the life of me I just can't understand how KPIX would want to keep her. If I had a dime for every time she said..." I got to tell you." I'd be a millionaire. It's always about her and look at me.
She's still a popular draw with an important demo: the male 25-54 and she's still attractive --people like her, I find her rather annoying lately, but it's all subjective. At least she knows what the Golden Gate Bridge looks like.
Don't know if you have commented on Marty Lurie on KNBR. I find that he is increbibly knowledgeable, treats his callers with total respect (something lacking in all other KNBR hosts), and has a very loyal following. To me, he is the sports-version of Gene Burns (from KGO-days)
Agree about Marty. He was such a breath of fresh air, especially when he was new to KNBR in 2010. You can't replace seasoned, intelligent, thoughtful conversation.
I would put Roy Woodson in the Mary category as well - not only are they respective of the callers but of their studio folks as well operating the board and taking calls. With the Giant fast exit from the season and KNBR's commitment to ESPN's baseball post-season broadcasts -- I really missed Marty's annual wrap-up to the season. I like marty's interviews, his overall knowledge of the game and history and even the book reviews! A gem and I hope KNBR doesn't screw this up like most of their other programming decisions

ReplyDeleteI mean, it's all right there in front of them in Trump's own words/actions over the last 30 years.
Are people that stupid or is it blind loyalty?
There's nothing to say to these people because they have hardened beliefs and have no room to believe otherwise.

DeleteInsert Bill & Hillary Clinton in the place of Trump and the statement works exactly the same.
Rich, BOTH political parties play the blame game equally in the media. You're better than that.
DeleteUh, a lot more on the right. I think it's paranoia.

DeleteYou mean back when Trump was a Democrat?
DeleteYou mean, as opposed to when Hillary Clinton labelled the Monica Lewinsky story "part of a vast right-wing conspiracy"?
DeleteWhat's more interesting is when the Lewinsky affair happened conservatives wanted to impeach Clinton. Trump does far worse and they say, "He's not running for pope."

DeleteWell,do you know what size carseat your child needs?
DeleteHa ! Haven't heard that in YEARS since I no haven't listened to KNBR since Tony Bruno and Raddy had thier little 30 minutes of fun.
DeleteNow that it has come out via Wikileaks that big media is in the pocket for Hillary Clinton..from the NY Times giving her veto power over which comments of hers to print or not print, the Washington Post working behind the scenes to have her elected and dig up dirt on the opposition and various other examples where we can see that journalists no longer report the facts but are hacks for the DNC...now that all of that has been exposed, how can we be certain that Rich Lieberman is not a paid shill for KNBR and hasn't been using reverse psychology on us these past few years with his constant ripping of the sports leader?

ReplyDeleteNo, Jeff Bush is still out there, Cary.
DeleteDid Katie Marzullo relocate to the South Bay? Seems like all her stories are from San Jose, etc.
ReplyDeleteShe's a Gen. Assignment reporter --does a lot of SJ stories but isn't based in SF per se.
DeleteHow are the ratings for the refreshed KPIX and KGO morning shows?
ReplyDeleteKPIX has flatlined after a so-so burst early summer; they're just surviving ...KGO is better than average...KTVU still #1 but their product is lousy and unremarkable.
ReplyDeleteso the Donny and Marie show is working? that is stunning.
DeleteHas Roqui figured out where the pacific ocean is
ReplyDeleteI do believe they briefed her on that.
DeleteFYI, Roqui is the daughter of former UNLV/NBA All Star/Sacramento Kings Head Coach Reggie Theus..
DeleteLOL @ that "FYI", they only mention that EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. they complain about her in here.
DeleteMost times, I would see Betty Yu do just one live report per week. What do field reporters like her do during the rest of the week ?
ReplyDeleteWait for a fire on Market Street --something like that.
ReplyDeleteRoqui is still having some rocky days. She is, however, the hottest weather babe in the area. A LOL'er from Anonymous October 14, 2016 at 2:31 PM
ReplyDeletegetting rid of Kelly was unconscious ''protect the white males'' thing. for sure...
ReplyDeleteRich, what do you think of KQED programming? Have you ever tried to watch KQED? Is there a method to their madness or do they really have no clue?
ReplyDeleteThere have been programs on KQED that I used to watch quite a bit, entertainment and political. I enjoy "This Week in Nor California" a newsy roundtable with various journalists. I also like Gwen Ifill on PBS. After that, a few Masterpiece Theatres and cooking shows. That's about all my KQED menu.

DeleteYou really think Roqui Theus is easy on the eyes??? Robin Winston and Alexis Smith are head and shoulders above Roqui!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf we're talking straight looks, there's no one there you mentioned that is not easy on the eyes.
DeleteActually, Roqui Theus is about 6"1", so technically Roqui literally stands head and shoulders above Robin and Alexis...just sayin...
DeleteRich, please answer this question...How does Roberta keep her job???? For the life of me I just can't understand how KPIX would want to keep her. If I had a dime for every time she said..." I got to tell you." I'd be a millionaire. It's always about her and look at me.

DeleteDude...you need to get out more. I’m male and in that demo. Chuuuunky. Yuck !
DeleteRoqui finally knows what the Golden Gate Bridge looks like. It took awhile but she knows now.

Agree with 10:51am. Marty Laurie comes across the air as a complete gentlemen.
DeleteThe other angry white guys at KNBR should take note.

DeleteWho would you rather: Anne Makovec, Tara Moriarty, Leslie Sbrocco or Jessica Castro?
ReplyDeleteCome ON! Leslie Sbrocco - HANDS DOWN.
DeleteShe looks like she'd drink you under the table then have her way with you... Whata rack....
Another "two thumbs up" for Marty. Lots of Bay Area baseball stories, Giants, A's, PCL.
ReplyDeleteHe's the Herb Caen of KNBR, wish he was on more, and hope he continues for years to come.
Who's the Asian chick modeling the red dress?
ReplyDeleteI'm in L-O-V-E!
What's happened to Kiet Do, the reporter who covered San Jose on KPIX's morning show? Haven't seen him in awhile. I thought he did a good job.
