Savage: 'I've Been Sabotaged'; Cumulus Pulls SF-Based Talker Off WABC in NY

Image result for Michael Savage Michael Savage was halfway into his Monday Syndicated Show (heard in the Bay Area on KSFO) when his staff informed him Savage was taken off the air in NY on WABC.

Savage was furious --on the air no less. Savage speculated it may have been "an inside job."

He opened the program talking about tonight's (Monday) first presidential debate --with a theme: "The fix is in."

He later insinuated that fix may have been Hillary Clinton operatives pressuring Cumulus to mute Savage's NY station.

Oh, Savage supports Donald Trump.

Either way, Savage wasn't happy about the NY radio blackout and said there'd be repercussions.

"I've been sabotaged--what happened with me today on the air are by forces bigger than you and me, " said Savage.

  1. I was listening to Savage today as this all unfolded. To say he was pissed is an understatement!!! He was shafted by those who earn a living of of his popularity. Like him.or not hes what people want..as evidenced by his numbers and several N.Y. times best selling books. Love ya Savage, give them hell...

    10. Get over yourselves. This is about the dicks who run cumulus. The same goons who destroyed KGO radio. Is it any surprise they would do this to Doctor Weiner? It should be interesting tomorrow. He said if they do this again he will walk off the air. Apparently they placed two other hosts on his place who were boasting of a "coup" of Savage. He was furious!

  2. The New York money and media elite are her crowd, make no mistake.

They're concerned. CNN is reporting that Hillary hasn't been to Ohio in almost a month. Ohio has called the victor in each race since 1964 so if this is September and she's throwing in the towel there, it's the whole race. She's gonna finish because that's politics and what she does affects the down ballot but I can also tell you Portman is said to be up anywhere between 13.5 and 21 points against challenger Strickland. THAT is why the Hillary crowd is getting nervous. It's not just about the top of the ticket, looks increasingly to be a savaging (no pun intended) of their entire party, of everything they stand for.

Do you know who gave us this? Eight years of Obama. There is absolutely no doubt of that in my mind.

    1. No he was replaced by a couple of guys that have very poor ratings. This was not revenue or logically driven. It was politically motivated.

  4. I'm amazed that Savage wasn't told about it ahead of time, since WABC is a major affiliate, but it looks like they had Curtis and Kuby (local hosts) on today doing a remote from Hofstra University, site of tonight's debate.

Side question: Is a "colon cap" the same thing as a "butt plug"?

I figured clock was off waited a few minutes & switched back. The preceding show hosts still on & they said it was because they were doing a live remote from Hofstra. I thought that was odd because it was odd because it was 6 hrs before the debate & it would essentially a continuation of their show. Went back to music.

Being retired and having no life that "thing" is about the most exciting thing that has happened to me today!

The road to the White house for Trump started in 1994 when Savage was given a microphone and some airways. Hillary knows it and if she gets elected say goodbye to Savage and your guns and probably your Country!

Upon closer inspection using my magnifier, it looks like the "thing" is Hillary and she is stomping on Mike's latest book.

So I guess Trump was correct calling Hillary crooked. I had a high security clearance and if I handled classified stuff the way Hillary has, I would have received my own special room in a Federal prison somewhere in America!

  21. Someone just made me aware of this and of course there's a forum for it.

None of you know Savage-Wiener. I know Savage-Wiener. Rich knows him mildly. I refer to him as Salvage because in employing him, Cumulus has been trying to Salvage ad dollars for the better part of 3 years.

First off, yes, Cumulus would pull him because he's a problem for them with advertisers. You listen to his show? Name me a national brand on his show. Can you blame them?

Second, if you think Cumulus execs in NY pulled his show over something to do with Hillary then you are nothing short of a fucking jackass. Which, of course, if you believe that you're probably voting for Trump, so it's really just a reminder of your status.

Third, Salvage does not have great ratings ANYWHERE. Check them. He used to yell about #1 in Digital. Except that's because his competitors were all on SO MANY MORE STATIONS. The diehards tuned in.

This is simply Cumulus not taking a risk; nothing more.

I applaud Salvage for perpetuating the nonsense that the "fix is in." He's great at creating a sense of himself versus the man, but in truth, it's the man who has kept him on the air all these years. In radio, the man is a right-leaning sales guy who largely agrees with Salvage. Unfortunately, that same man also destroyed the radio business by copy-catting these hosts across the entire industry, leaving debt in the wake.

So...great story...etc...etc. But this is nothing more than Cumulus trying to avoid losing more advertisers, which Savage has only helped them do.

Howard is my idol, next to Zappa.

Make this about me all you like. Doesn't bother me one bit. Thing is though, only one person in this forum really knows Salvage, and I'm not that person.

The guy is the biggest low life I've ever come across. He cheats people, is hated by his own family, and literally has zero friends.

Is he good at his job? Absolutely. For 15-20 minutes of the 70-100 minutes he does live radio he can be very entertaining. But he has no advertisers that matter, and his demographics are horrendous.

We used to have to move "any younger callers to the top."

Love me, hate me, I don't care. If you know me, you know I don't bullshit. Unlike Salvage.

Post from Curtis and Kuby's (local WABC hosts) Facebook page:

"On Monday Curtis and Kuby broadcast from 12-5pm on the campus of Hofstra University before the debate at 9pm. For a full week we had been talking on-air about how we would be doing the extra two hours because our radio station WABC was positioned all day at the debate site. There were no objections and clearly this was just taking place on WABC as it has from time to time in the past. While doing the broadcast apparently Michael Savage created the idea that some conspiracy had unfolded to take him off the air nationally. According to him somehow his parent company Westwood One was involved with this and more specifically WABC. It turns out that none of that was true. The technical glitch was on his end in the broadcasting cycle. I noticed yesterday he did not address that, but I suggest that an apology is in order based on his over the top reaction to something that had already been planned and put into motion with out any objections. And to suggest that his parent company had yanked him off the air made no sense from a broadcasting point of view. As you can see from the attached article the truth of the matter is now apparent to all. So please instead of complaining go back to listening to Michael Savage from 3-5pm and enjoy the many hours of talk programming here at WABC."
