The White Anglo KNBR Sports Hosts from 10-1 PM Took Predictable Stands on Colin Kaepernick

Image result for KNBR Gary and Larry It was fairly predictable.

The White Anglo hosts KNBR--criticized Colin Kaepernick for his stance; perfectly their right, along with Kaepernick.

It's their reasons that especially sucked--predictable and jingoistic to the core.

The Radnich fellow said because Kaepernick collects a check from the 49ers he should keep his mouth shut. So because he collects a check he loses his First Amendment rights? Radnich is as ignorant as they come but this one takes the cake. Radnich believes because he's married to a Black woman it gives him cachet on matters of this subject.

Ali took checks.

Moron.

His doofus co-host went jingoistic big time: "You salute the flag to respect ideals."  Huh? He went further. "If I were the 49ers, I'd cut his ass." Spoken like a true White Anglo who grew up in the Sunset.

Moron 2.

I don't agree with Kaepernick but I support his right to say it. He will lose millions and endorsements and he's clearly OK with that. Most of you can't stand Kap and I understand. To some degree.

I do not understand ignorant white Anglo sports hosts who don't know real life. It's old-school.

  1. I don't agree with the specific action, but I do support his right to take an action since we have the first amendment guaranteeing all of us that right. It is time to put being PC aside but speak authentically, with candor but being considerate of others with the words and speech we choose.

  2. This will blow over just like Chris Jackson/Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf when he turned around during the National Anthem because he was Muslim. I think Kaepernick understands the ramifications, whether you agree or don't. He'll probably be in Denver or Dallas next week anyway.

  3. Within 30 minutes of his return,he announced "Latino's would support Kaepernick". No,they don't. They died in WW1,WW2,Vietnam,Gulf wars..
It didn't take long before stupid poured out of him. He never takes a vacation from that.

    1. Agreed. There is a huge amount of racism in the Latino community towards African-Americans. In fact, the suburbs of LA that were so popular in the 80's as being the breeding ground of black gangs and some of the most iconic rap acts are now predominently Latino with lots of gang warfare between Blacks and Latinos.

    2. I had a Latino friend who died during the Vietnam war. After an all night patrol out over the South China sea, upon landing the next morning in the Philippines with a crew of 12, we ran off the runway, the nose gear assembly was torn off the plane, 3 of the four props hit the ground, the #2 prop broke off the engine and came into the plane where this fine American Latino was sitting, slicing him up like a cow going through a slaughter house.

Frank, our Radioman had told me more than once he was looking forward to getting home to his new wife and starting a family, they never did find all of his body parts.

Don't ask me how I feel about Colin Kaepernick.

    4. A lot of Black people have died in every war going back to the Revolutionary War. Plenty died in Vietnam. My family has fought in nearly every war in this country including the Revolutionary war. Kaepernick can stand or sit. It's his right. A lot of Black vets may disagree with him but they respect him. They remember the discrimination they experienced in the military.

    5. 2:26....7,273 Blacks were killed in the Vietnam war. Number of White people killed in that war, 50,478.

I spent four years on active duty during the Vietnam war, flew many missions. I can never recall any discrimination directed toward anyone.

    6. Yes I heard the same stupid remark come out of the mouth of Mr Radnich.
Gary since when do you speak for all minorities in America?
Perhaps your next lecture will be on maintaining Fidelity in a Marriage.

    7. 4:53...the total number of US service members killed in the Vietnam conflict is around 58,200 or so (it varies by a score or so depending on the source). Math time...50,478+7,273 = 57,751. 58,200-57,751 = 449.

So you're saying that excluding the Anglo and Afro casualties, there were only 449 casualties from ALL OTHER ethnicities (Hispanic, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, etc) during Vietnam? I'd suggest the Hispanic count alone went well into the thousands...

Check your privilege, then check your math...

      Delete
    8. 4:53...The numbers killed are all over the place. Not to mention the 225 Indians who were killed, that is not the point. I always hear about America sending all the blacks to Vietnam to die, they were discriminated against, the numbers prove the point.

My post was in response to the statement, "They remember the discrimination they experienced in the Military." Someone give me an example of all this discrimination in the Military. More than anything, the Military experience "help" more black people than discriminated against them. I have met many successful black people and most of them served in the Military.

    9. After reading the 4:53 post which mentioned Hispanic, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, etc., I have never heard of any of these people complaining about being oppressed or discriminated against, just the Blacks, why is that?

      Delete
    10. @12:47...hmmmm, maybe it's because Black people are the most oppressed group in America. Also, those other minority groups have the ability to blend in and assimilate due to skin complexion. What an ignorant question to ask.

What is sickening to me is the jingoistic rah-rah attitudes of know-nothings that are reminiscent of the Vietnam War supporters " Go die for your Country and Flag- dammit- DIE ! " and guess what ? The protesters were right.

    2. In his comments to the press, he said he's encountered some situations himself, but never said he felt oppressed. He said he's standing up for people of color killed by police. I listened to Gary and Larry to and from lunch and they were just as Rich described. Everything Gary said he brought back to his ol' standby, "family," and Larry was saying Kaep should've thought "team" first, before his stance. It was like a friggin' overdramatic needle skipping on a record.

    3. If the Niners do want to ship out Kaep, it has to come from Baalke and not the head coach. Kelly was criticized by some of his black Eagles players for how they were treated compared to white players.

    4. The thing that bothers me is the deafness of some people. Kaepernick is upset about black people being shot by police. You can agree or disagree with his position on the state of the police in society, and you can disagree with his method of protest.

However, what I see is, "Kaepernick hates white people, yet he was raised by white parents" and other screenshots of his family.

Talk about TOTALLY missing the point.

  15. It's important to get this discussion started Rich and I'm glad you're using this forum to do so. I don't agree at all with what Larry said. He has his strong beliefs which are sadly rooted in the deep history of this country, much of which was founded on the backs of slaves. Over 200 years of existence of that 'peculiar institution' and then 100 more years of inequality until the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1965 can't be overlooked. Yes, it's been 51 years since then, but we still have problems with race in this country.

Look at the nonsense and the kind of people Donald Trump is involved with and we can see that we're not that far removed. Sure, the argument can be made, that if you have two parents who work hard, are reasonably successful, and take care of their kids, the chances are that there are going to be fewer problems.

Yet how many Americans today, (whites included) come from broken homes? It's not all about 'family values' and "taking advantage of the freedoms we have."

It if were that cut and dried, there wouldn't be this kind of a problem. There's lot more to it than that. You have a long history here that is a part of our culture, our national 'DNA.'

Racism is a sickness that lives like a cancer in ALL of us, black and white and brown and yellow and red. Most living in today's 21st century have been born at a time when it isn't as obvious as it was in an earlier generation. But it hasn't gone away. To think that it has is folly.

Kaepernick is just one young athlete who is speaking his mind, because he has a forum to do so, and a right to do it. Doesn't matter whether anyone thinks he's right or wrong. Doesn't matter whether you or I or anyone thinks it's "INAPPROPRIATE!" It'

s the American way that is guaranteed by the Constitution. Donald Trump and his acolytes have the same right to use invective and insults to make their points.

Is Kaepernick 'wrong' to speak his mind? Well, we have a presidential candidate who seems to say 'outrageous' things every day. It's the American way, isn't it?

  16. Anonymous at 12:53pm hit it right on the head. In fact, I am surprised nobody else mentioned that point earlier, in that this dude, Kapernick, [sp?] is paid millions of dollars to play a game, mind you, and he thinks he is oppressed? If he can find a better country, he should go there asap. He can afford to live anywhere he wants. Let him buy an island somewhere and make his own rules there. He will soon see that even with the problems there are in the USA today, it is still the best country in the world, even with people like Kapernick in it.

  17. Kap will be history in a week or so. The 49ers will cut him and no other team in the league will pick him up. He'll blow through his salary in a couple of years and he'll be washed up by his mid-30s. We'll never hear from him again. I could care less what his opinion is on any issue. And a preseason football sidelines protest will be forgotten in just a few days from now. Bye, Kap.

  18. So Raddy's reasoning is that Kap should stand for the anthem because he's getting a check from the 49ers, and should do what the team says. But when management told Raddy to apologize to Catherine Heenan, he refused to do so. But Raddy's also taking a check. I smell a double standard.

  20. Kaepernick is exercising his right to free expression. It's legal. The people who have a problem with it are the ones who should leave and go live somewhere like Russia where free speech can land you in prison.

The people who are angry about this are angry that Black people live in this country at all. A couple seasons ago the same people were calling Kap a thug just like they called Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman and Cam Newton thugs. Like the person who posted here that they stopped watching NBA in the 1990's because of the black tattooed thugs.

This is YOUR problem. If Kap weren't doing this you'd be calling him out over something else. Like having a white mother or white adoptive parents or his Black father. You aren't even embarrassed by your own pathetic bigotry. Go back to defending your little darling Ryan Lochte who in a drunken haze vandalized property lied about it and embarrassed his country.

    1. There's a crapload of misinformation about and misimpressions of the first amendment in this discussion. Read the first amendment(see Bill of Rights) It merely says that Congress(government) will not silence you. Congress is not trying to silence or punish Colin Kaepernick I hear a lot of white guilt racism in some of the "conversations" about this. To imply that Americans who gladly sing the national anthem and who are offended by Mr. Kaepernick's antics, are somehow racists who don't care about the nation's race issues, is an argument without foundation. Mr kaepernick, his career on the decline, will now likely claim that it's all because he's half black. I think that is half-assed, at best.

      Delete
    2. 5:28 So what bothers you more. That Kap has an opinion or that he's half Black since white people keep bringing up his race. How is being half Black relevant to any of this discussion except to someone who has a huge bias against interracial relationships. Like I've been saying, the criticism of Kap says waaaay more about the critics than Kap.

  21. What gets me is he thinks he is so important that he sitting down is going to change He needs to get over himself. He is just not that important on or off the field. If he wants to change something maybe it should be his game or lack of it.

  22. I think a lot of people on here are missing the point. Kaep's not saying he's oppressed, but other people are. Is that so tough to understand? I'm sure he realizes the ramifications, while on the Niners, and in the league. While the Civil Rights Act was legislated in my lifetime (try to get your kids to understand that one, by the way), American society is still catching up in lots of ways re: equality, whether its by cops stopping people of color more than whites, which sometimes leads to unnecessary (and unarmed) shootings. We ask our athletes to stand up for causes and when they're not MLK Jr. or Frederick Douglass, then they get pilloried.

  24. Plain and simple: these two are the biggest jackoffs/assholes in the sports media scene. Well, actually there are three when you count Rudy Fitzgerald.

KNBR keeps losing credibility daily with that "crew" they have doing sports during the day. You've got the morning group masterbaters and the ever so insecure Fatto too.

    1. Better yet, fund a local police department's diversity training program, if he thinks that's the problem. I heard a cop being interviewed today who said, "I'd much rather help someone than hurt someone." I think that's the attitude of most cops, although there are exceptions. Kaepernick's now got to show he's helping or try to cooperate and not keep drawing a line in the sand if he really wants to make a difference.

Worst of all, he hosts a freakin' sports call-in show, but if someone calls in and tries to talk to him, in a manner that isn't joking, he interrupts, tells the person to lighten up, go hug your kids, it's just sports, etc.

Note to Gary: We all KNOW it's sports, we have lives. We listen (or some do, I gave up on you a long time ago) to you guys to have a little diversion from the other things in life.

  28. 3:31pm who says he's "white, from the country and my wife is an illegal immigrant who is way hot" illustrates my point about the nonsense of people who don't pay attention to anything but what they want to see.

He obviously doesn't like to read or even consider other people's opinions, but that's typical of some of the jerk-offs who have elected these GOP right wing ideologues that have helped to ruin our country.

America is no longer, "the greatest country in the world," because of people like this fool who uses profanity and objectifies his own wife: "illegal and way hot!" I wonder how she would feel about that if she heard him say that to her friends or the rest of his family?

Pretty sad stuff, that's for sure. His blatant ignorance is sadly one of the big reasons why a guy like Donald Trump is even in the conversation, let alone a leading Presidential candidate. I wonder if this turd even understands the history of his own country.

Probably not, because he's too busy drinking beer, driving a truck, and leering at other women. Sad case this fool, 3:31 pm. I'm glad you live out in the country Gomer, (thats actually an insult to Gomer Pyle, because he was actually NOT an asshole like you.
