Willie Brown and Super Bowl Mayhem on KCBS; Garcia-Cannon Saga is Fair Game; Friday Short

 BACK INTO ACTION --

While you (and me) were battling the Friday morning commute into the city, Willie Brown and his assorted friends on KCBS were cackling out loud over Da ex-mayor's Super Bowl plans.

Never mind the fact that half the city has been shut down; the vehicle purgatory is in full effect and you need loads of patience to navigate the Embarcadero --even if you take public transportation. I can only imagine what next week entails considering over a million folks will hit the streets of San Francisco and beyond.

*TWO high-profile TV anchors in a major market ...on an NBC station --and impending domestic violence charges on the docket.

That's a big story --I'm covering it and will be when it advances...even if the mainstream media ignores it. It's not a pretty picture and the subject matter is very intense. Can't believe the nabobs who want to bury their head in the sand and pretend we should all ignore and let the people have their privacy. Lovely concept, but not in today's world.

Public people, sorry, it's all fair game no matter the elements.

Agreed. Just no comments on the size of her rack, please.

  2. Boo hoo, two block segments of 6 streets are blocked. Avoid the area or go around it.

    1. Agreed...And whats up with everyone stressing over the fact that a few blocks are going to be be blocked off in the Financial District?!

Absolutely NO ONE is focusing on the fact that most of the major festivities are going to be held in the South Bay, and it a moving parking lot down there 24/7! Major Events: Both AFC, & NFC teams are flying into little San Jose International, Media Day at SAP Center, Both NFC & AFC Practices held in the South Bay, and the Super Bowl itself will be held in a region that is a Constant Traffic Jam! Wake up people, & take a look around...Smdh.

  3. Agreed that reporting it is fair game. However, I don't really think it's fair game to just keep mentioning sordid personal-life tidbits over and over again way after it (supposedly) happened when it has absolutely nothing to do with the current story being reported. You seem obsessed with mentioning Radnich's supposed infidelities (I have no way of knowing if it's true or not and frankly don't care.) randomly when it is completely irrelevant. Damn near all of us have skeletons of some kind in our closet, and while public people do put themselves in a position to have details of their lives exposed, I think it's unfair to abuse that ability by raging on and on about it for no apparent reason years after it (supposedly) happened.

  4. I don't laugh at plane crashes, but I do laugh at Natasha on the 11:00 AM news when she says, "the NTSB is investigating a deadaly plane crash in Sonoma County..."

  5. Willie Brown, shameless self-promoter who should be in jail...

  6. The only good thing about Willie is he is getting very long in the tooth. His pals are passing on right and left.

I think when Willie passes on it will be like a scene from one of those horror movies when the skies lighten up and those under his control are released. Many folks don't know Ed Lee and Prince Gavin's chief of staff at city was and is Willie's - So you may then understand where the control comes from in the puppets who followed Willie.

Me thinks Ed is in for a good Super Bowl licking which will be a major national embarrassment for him and SF.

    1. How so will "Ed Lee be in for a good Super Bowl licking, which will be a national embarrassment for him & SF?"

Remember Ed Lee did not bid for Super Bowl 50 to come to the Bay Area. No Cred Jed, CEO of the 49ers bid for the game to come to his venue down in Santa Clara! And since Jed York still insist on using the name San Francisco to sell, & market his team, (even though Santa Clara is a suburb of San Jose) San Francisco is stuck with being the Host City. So place blame where is "should be placed." We San Franciscans would be overjoyed if the current ownership of the 49ers would drop the SF from their team, imvho.

  7. Since when is shamless self-promotion a crime? On the other hand his role in getting that debacle of a bridge built...

  8. By the way, for all your big talk about how others are public people and are fair game, you're like most talk radio hosts. You control the microphone switch and the call selector, and you decide what ends up in your discus comments and what just evaporates into the night. And while you never seem to hesitate to approve comments which are sexist, racist, misogynistic or just plain stupid, the one thing you're hypersensitive to is a well-written, well-reasoned criticism of *you*. You are a f***ing coward.

  12. In all honesty, some members of The Fourth Estate behave as though they sit at the right hand of God himself. They are in the public eye and are fair game.

As for Willy Brown, what a disgrace. Hope they'll rename that bridge when he dies. As a native San Franciscan, I don't want to be reminded that he visited his brand of slime on the City.

  13. What sort of person calls another a coward anonymously?

  14. Rich, you are absolutely correct. You probably want a blog that interests the most people. You could write a story about spousal abuse of your next door neighbor, but that would interest very few people because not many other people know who they are. News people, on the other hand, are local celebrities. Thousand of people know who they are. Many people would be interested in such a story. Basically, when people become public figures they can expect to give up some aspects of their privacy. It just comes with the territory.
