Saturday 415 Media Looker: KGO-TV Weekend Weatherwoman Lisa Argen

We couldn't agree more with all her faithful followers: Lisa Argen is the real deal. The KGO-TV weekend weatherwoman has worked her way up from the ladder to become one of the most solid anchors in town.

Argen is no-nonsense and pleasant; a concise forecast with little gimmicks and professional delivery. No unnecessary giggling and gushy demeanor, just the manner in which you like and a pretty figure to boot.

We like that.

I like the episode of Star Trek where Captain Pike was stuck in a chair & he can only answer "yes or no" in blips until the cats peed on him, then he ran right into the candy shop & blew up. Then the butthead people wiped their asses on their forehead with toilet paper, then ran off. It's true!!!

  2. Nothing but a bunch of Haus Fraus in the weather dept in the BA.

  3. LIsa's cool.

I remember she used to always wear a lot of leather outfits. Made me wonder what she was trying to say with her wardrobe.

I imagine she's grateful to be on the KGO side of the complex, as a former KRONvict I bet she feels relief that she's out of that zoo. But I'm sure KGO has it's own set of fences...

  4. I agree. Tony the Tiger would say, "She's grrrrreat." Pretty figure, that's an understatement. She has a "heavenly body." Fox (cable) has an entire squadron of hot, beautiful and intelligent women who have a dress code that puts them in the number #1 slot year after year. Her dress code is too conservative, needs to be updated. Fox knows how to display their gorgeous women and KGO doesn't have a clue. When you have someone like Lisa, back the camera up so her entire "heavenly body" comes into view! There is a "wow" factor in the weather and it's not lightning or thunder...it's Lisa Argen.

    1. @4:49 Really?! "...knows how to display their gorgeous women..."

      How are the men "displayed"?

    2. Not nearly as nicely as the women.

  5. How old is she? Are her and Roberta the oldest weather girls in the Bay Area?

  6. I've posted before that I remember when Lisa Argen was first hired in the Bay Area by KRON. She was painful to watch, stammered a lot, lots of pauses, and she was pregnant, too! I'm glad they stuck with her back then, and I'm happy for her success today.

  7. Hey Rich! Did you notice the long goodbye for Cheryl Jennings? It was as if she quit or had died. Gushing tweets and long news stories about her "new role". You could see in her eyes that she's not happy. But she's on the not so long ride to oblivion at 7. A few stories here and there and then a short news release about her leaving in a year or so. She's always been a lifer who was in denial. She thought if she agreed to do everything and anything to keep her job, she would be safe. But, even in the tv news bubble(9 out of 10 viewers don't watch and few under 40 even cares about it, and most millennials don't own a tv or land line phone), it was obvious that numerous cosmetic interventions won't going to save her a job forever.

  8. I see that KGO weather people have started a Storm Impact Scale, 1 to 5. The incoming storm for today is rated at #1. I have started a Lisa Argen Impact Scale and todays rating is a solid #5. Told you she has a "heavenly body." Hey KGO management...Lisa needs a shift change from 2 days a week to 5 days a week!!

  9. Somebody has to tell her that SAN JOSE is the LARGEST CITY in the bay area and she would do well to give the temp and pay a little more attention to it.

  10. I think Argen is kinda strange looking, myself, but she does deliver the weather without any gimmicks. She's the anti-Gonzalez that way. Today, Gonzalez told viewers that getting a rain gauge and thermometer would be a great Xmas present because then you could become one of her local weather watchers she uses for her forecasts. Yeah, right.

  11. The only two people I like at KGO these days are lovely Lisa and traffic fill in Sue Hall. Sue is a real trooper with her radio gigs and back stopping KGO. I'd keep the new weather guy and toss Nico; I don't know why Spencer is still there - I had the impression he was to be weather and an afternoon local talk show which failed long ago..
