FRIDAY PM WIRE...
Ray Taliaferro has been noticeably absent of conversation with friends the past few months to the point where some of his associates are worried. We hope brother Ray is OK and have put in a phone call our self.
*We barely noticed it, shame on us: It was four years ago Tuesday that KGO became kgo.
Ronnnnnnnn Owens celebrated by taking a selphie with KGO's newest PD. He likes to do that with frequency.
*I haven't turned on Roberta Gonzales --she makes it impossible to compliment via not knowing how to read the room. In particular, when out of an update from CBS Radio on the latest in San Bernardino, she continued to act giddy and doofusey. It was not the right time. Hell, you don't have to be a genius to figure that out.
*Diane Tuazon split KRON and headed back to Las Vegas to care for her ailing dad.
*Michelle Apon, also late of KRON is headed to Sacramento for a weather gig.

I have to commend Mr. Michael Zwerling's ing for his stellar interview of Ray Taliaferro from a few months ago. How nice it was to hear his voice again! And as for Ol' Krusty Lowenstein, Shekel Ass...ASS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just heard from Ray. He said if you want to contact him, he's got another line open on the board now. Hahahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope ray is alright...he or someone close to ray is still accepting Facebook adds. Maybe he's just concentrating on his book.
ReplyDeleteI miss Ray SO much. Love you, Ray!
ReplyDelete4 years ago, Cumulus stock closed at $3.10 a share.
ReplyDeleteThey cut costs and introduced centralized management into KGO. Management from that talent warehouse of Atlanta, Georgia.
Now, the stock is struggling to survive delisting at ~ 30 cents a share.
This will go down as one of the greatest media wrecking balls of all time.
Fuck Cumulus.
Fuck Atlanta.
Fuck the FCC.
And you can also fuck the Clintons for gutting the FCC. Want more of the same? Vote for Hillary Rodham...
Delete@5:11 You must have missed the memo. Everything is Obama's fault now. You have to wait until next year to resume blaming the Clinton's.
DeleteI will also offer my best to Ray. I used to listen to him back in my high school days, and disagreed with everything he said, but listened to every word because he was so compelling.
ReplyDeleteThis. Who could forget the passionate pleas to call "1-800-810 CURE"
DeleteI miss Ray. His show was often over the top but sure beats the alternative: John Batchelor, the cure for insomnia. And that Red Eye radio crap on 910 is like the Limbaugh and Hannity show.
ReplyDeleteNone of that is as bad as that Alan Colmes or Rachel Maddow crap. It's like toilet paper for the airwaves.
DeleteYou mean you don't find John Batchelor's show on such topics like the Election of 1896 or the migratory patterns of birds fascinating???
DeleteHey 9:16am--Alan Colmes is great. He gets a ton of right-wingers who call in and they sound like a bunch of Billy Bob's...ignorant, racist hics. Dumb as dirt and Alan just hammers them. I thought at first it was all a big joke but those are actual callers.
DeleteBTW, Rachel doesn't have a radio show anymore but has MSNBC's highest rated TV show.
I enjoy Roberta, but sometimes show goes on an automatic sing-song rant and her cadences are all messed up. Then she's confusing and hard to listen to.
ReplyDeleteIf brains were gas, Roberta wouldn't have enough gas to ride a mini bike around the inside of a lifesaver
ReplyDeleteBut... air is a gas, and on that front, she could go cross country w/o filling up...
DeleteWhat is it with KRON running off all their weather skirts?
ReplyDeleteMany KRONvicts can't afford to work there.
DeleteRay...he of the George Takei voice. Oh myyyy.
ReplyDeleteI will never watch KGO TV news again now that Cheryl Jennings is gone. Shame on KGO management! Let men stay until they die, no no for women. Jennings is a woman of class and a fine human being. I am sorry to see her pushed as
ReplyDeleteThey have a new news director and programmer at kgo. Will they start boosting air talent? Rumor mill is that the reporter Rob who left ealier this year could be set for a major comeback. Hear anything?
