  2. RIP Pat!! A true mainstay to SF Bay Area media for years!! You will be truly missed, Sir!! Not unlike a certain KGO daytime talk host that sold out his fellow radio brethren in 2011. He can't get off the air soon enough for me. You get the hell out of here!! You Go To Hell!!

  4. RIP, Pat. I still remember Charlie and Humphrey. Better than any kids' shows on TV today, that's for sure.

    1. Yeah, we were lucky in that respect. For all of the great technologies and "luxuries" that kids have access to today, I am glad I grew up when I did.

  6. I also remember his hosting the local portion of the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for many years

  7. Back when men were men. Not these hipster liberals that bruise easily and rub moisturizer on their hands.

  10. I'm 52, yet it seems like yesterday that I was watching Charlie & Humphrey. Such a clean and innocent show compared to today's garbage. Thanks for the memories, Mr. McCormick.

  11. There was something genuine about him. It's easy to pick out that he wasn't uncomfortable in front of the camera and he was a warm and a kind man. I'm glad to have grown up with the PSAs he did that reinforced good citizenship, caring and kindness. Wish there were more people like him in front of the camera and in the world.

  15. ...and now for something completely different...SFGate now reports that Mr McCormick is very much alive...as Twain said, "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." I hope this report is true.

  16. BOY, AM I RELIEVED!! I and my two best friends had the pleasure of appearing with Pat and Humphrey on KGO TV in 1961 when we were in fifth grade. Pat was the absolute coolest and nicest television personality you could ever imagine -- and I always hoped I could meet him again someday.

Assuming Pat is still with us, this desire will now be elevated to the top of my list of priorities...
