  1. Ah Yes, Gil Gross, the man who took over Gene Burns' slot thinking he's better which he isn't!! Or as Ben Netanyahu said, "Got any shekels?"

  4. The management of iHeart is under the opinion callers don't matter. They think the Mike and Mike in the Morning model ESPN created, which has been copied by Armstrong and Getty, is the way of the future. They are doing their best to copy this across all platforms. Of course, they have no ratings success anywhere and it will amount to nothing, but this is what they think TODAY. Then it won't work and they'll make up some other bullshit that doesn't work.

Talent is talent. They don't have any of it.

  5. is there a more BORING talk show host out there? How does he manage to stay on the air, by sponsoring his own air time?

  7. Perfect summary of Gross' show. The remainder of the show is Gil saying: "oooooh", "aaaaah" and extended pauses as he admires the sound of his own overrated pipes.

  8. Gd DAMN that TrueCar idiot!. Will no one rid me of this troublesome yelling woman?
Everytime I hear her, I turn the radio all the way down for a while. The same way I do when Armstrong & Getty play their overextended theme music pastiche.

  9. No Gil does not take calls anymore, he is a big bore, Rich is right on. Gil is a shadow of what he was on KGO, and even then he wasn't that great. Funny I use to like him when he would fill in for Ronn Owens about 10-12 years ago, or more. He has gone steadily down hill since then. too bad. Especially since there are few good hosts on anywhere.

  10. Now they have spencer hughes too!

This is arguably the worst radio lineup in bay area history.

Can anyone think of worse? Even in the smaller markets.

  11. Spencer and Gil are better than Cory and Joel. Drex Show is even better. How is that on the air?

  12. Hughes who is a true radio hack would sell his soul for this gig! Just his voice alone is a turn off. Where is John Rothman when we need him?

    1. Spencer is a really smart conservative. Very deep. Filled with brilliant ideas. A lot of former Program Directors hired him.

  13. I don't get all the continued Gil hatred. I think he's quite intelligent and interesting! But well, if one admires Michael Savage and basically ignores those "boring" people over at NPR...well, we simply have quite different tastes! To say the least!

  14. Gil is intelligent, interesting not so much anymore, to predictable, no calls, need I go on? I detest Michael Savage, to that theory does not hold up. Yes, Savage can be interesting and he is intelligent, but on the whole too negative, to much ranting and raving. I like NPR at times, although they are a little dry. to other above posts. I agee Drex, Joel and Cory, and don't forget Brian Sussmann is ALL boring radio. Compared to the abovie mentioned host's Ronn is way above them. Spencer Hughes I have a love hate relationship with. He is interesting when he talks about gay rights and marriage, infuriating when he talk about rent control and minimum wages, interesting when he does a fun subject like: what is your favorite car, who would you want to bring to the senior prom, if you could choose anyone dead and alive, (My choice Paul Newman and JFK, senior or junior) John Rothmann is sorely missed at an intelligent, polite, voice, but no cares, perhaps he is too intelligent for they program directors at 910?
