  1. Thanks for bringing us this news, Rich; I'm sorry to hear about it. As John Wilkes Booth once said, "Hey Abe, look over there!"

  2. Cheaper, better, faster is what NASA said too. Then, the Challenger blew up. We all knew a Rupert Murdoch station would go down that road.

    2. Sorry, I'm "Anon at 2:40" and I didn't post the above. I just logged on and saw all this. I still don't get why it's so great, but thanks.

  4. This has been going on pretty much since December with Fox. A lot of people have been "sacked" as Rich put it. The graphics department is gone. People who leave on their own are not replaced. KTVU is shell of what it was a year ago at least with regards to staff. The list of those who've been relieved of their duties or left is easily in the 20s if not higher. Now there's your story.

  5. All the FOX 2 graphics now come from the "Graphics Hub" located at WTVT in Tampa. Centralized graphics have been the norm for station groups for years. Media General (KRON) has been doing so for quite some time.

The most shocking thing this week is the understanding that FOX-2 WILL be finding a way to move studios across the bay.

    1. Why would they move? If they're looking to cut costs, moving to $an Franci$co certainly isn't going to fit into that plan. Moving a TV station is not cheap, quick or easy. It's possible they may open up a bureau in SF, but there's no reason to move the entire operation.
