WORD on The Street has it that Mike Mibach, will co-anchor the new 4 PM KTVU News beginning next month with recent hire, Keba Arnold. Nothing is 100% certain but I'm told a formal announcement is coming soon.
Mibach is the current co-anchor on Mornings On Two Weekend with Claudine Wong. It's not known now if Fox2 has a replacement in mind for Mibach's gig, assuming he'll be leaving MO2.

After all these years, I still have not warmed up to Mike Mibach. Still think his style is a little on the arrogant side. But the person who I still do not like is Eric Rasmussen. I also do not like how Noelle Walker reports her stories. Stop and go tone. Just can't stand it!!!
ReplyDeleteUm, okay! Thanks for sharing.
DeleteYou're nuts. Noelle's a hottie!
DeleteI was not judging on her looks. I was judging how she reports the stories. Very annoying. Oh why I do not like Eric Rasmussen. Also arrogant.
DeleteI know her and she's very nice.
DeleteI'm thinking Brian Flores to be MO2 Weekends
ReplyDeleteMike Mibach is a bit to sports jock for my taste. Unless he is behind the desk, he looks very uncomfortable shooting segments sitting on the sofa or standing up chatting with others. It's disquieting.
ReplyDeleteMibach is a bit stiff with Claudine Wong. When Allie Rasmuss fills in ..the show is more flowing. Same old story..the WM gets promoted...the woman who have more years, stay behind.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that Claudine Wong not only got KTVU to get rid of the couch- I'm sure nobody else complained- she made the chairs this week disappear.
She doesn't want to be seen on TV...
I'm glad the WM was promoted. We have enough CP in the BA. We met our quota years ago.
DeleteYay! Am happy with either Mibach or Ken Wayne on afternoon/evening weekday news. Don't understand what the complaints are about Mibach. He always seems relaxed and professional to me. KTVU needs to lose fake, forced, horrible happy talk. KTVU didn't win awards and enjoy high ratings for babbling nonsense and emoting.
ReplyDeleteThey are now owned by Satan...I mean Fox. They demand happy talk. Believe me, the talent is none too happy about it. And Julie should get an award for the most inane chat after a reporter signs off.
DeleteRich, I absolutely love and adore the fact that your favorite troll is allowed to say inflammatory, racist, derogatory and divisive comments daily while our comments are moderated or deleted, daily. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteIt appears that you are, too.
DeleteDitto. I think Mike Mibach is a great choice for 4pm, though I still wonder... does ANYONE watch local news anymore?
ReplyDeleteSuch dismal ratings in this market. a 4-share is winning. So, so, so sad, but a sign of the times.
Anyone listen to Pat this evening? Started to talk about the Duggars, went to break came back with a song called "Cry Little Sister" as the bumper music, heard her murmur something like "we're not going to go there/talk about this" and did a 180 and started talking about a wacko dentist. Was she reined in by the higher ups?
ReplyDeleteHousewives with shows, oh the humanity.
DeleteThey have all summer to look for the replacement for MO2wkd They will try reporters who want to anchor, maybe some per-diems.
ReplyDeleteFOX has the formula, and they like to tweak it often.
Unlike all the other BA stations, FOX does not use outside news consultants. for it's O&O's.
Who? Is it possible to have a negative Q score?
ReplyDeleteThis is the fundamental problem with Bay Area media in 2015. The programming and the people are irrelevant to the vast, vast majority of the population, outside media people.
