Notarangelo Leaving KPIX; Last Show Sunday; Veteran Anchor Says 'It's Time To Go'; Source: Goodrich To Handle Weekends For May Book

Ann Notarangelo/CBS
Been a rough few days for Bay Area women TV anchors and reporters.

First, KTVU's Melanie Woodrow is sent packing and now comes word that Ann Notarangelo is leaving KPIX. Her last show is Sunday per her Facebook goodbye.

Notarangelo has been anchoring weekend duty on PIX for the past 14 years. She's occasionally anchored during the week but her mainstay has been Saturday and Sunday Night.

According to my PIX spy, word has it that Juliette Goodrich, the station's "Go-to fill-in" for all shifts will be called in to handle weekends for the May book.

By all indications from inside 855 Battery, the decision to split was Notarangelo's alone but another source told me she (Notarangelo) wanted more presence during the week and that wasn't imminent. Plus, with the hiring of Veronica De La Cruz, Notarangelo saw the handwriting on the wall and was tired of weekend anchoring. In other words, yes, it was the right time to go.

  1. The website for Ann Notarangelo says that her spouse works as a news photographer for CBS5. I wonder if both spouses are leaving for another city or if Notarangelo has found or is just looking for an opening in a nearby area like, Sacramento, Fresno, Monterey. Or is she going to make a local surprise landing?

    1. What was that I heard recently about a new 4pm 'cast on 2?

  2. Good riddance. Another nasty reporter GONE. Women have ruined the TV news biz. A good step forward.

    3. She must have rejected you at some point in the past and you couldn't get over it, eh?

    4. Rejected? No thanks grandma. And if you really knew her you'd know she's one of thy meanest, nastiest and most vindictive trolls in the business. Please go home ladies no more puppy videos.

    5. 12:54,

      Really? Got stories?

  3. There's not much chemistry between Veronica Dela Cruz and Ken Bastida as I said before. Its that age thing. Ken was seemingly fine with Dana King..then KPIX sent him away for years to make her do the news alone. I never got that.
VDLC and KB are like the anti James Garner and Mariette Hartley. Nobody could possibly in this world mistake the KPIX anchors as a happy couple. Or just couple. Maybe a couple of strangers....
Ann? Remember the Mendoza Line in baseball? Maybe with KPIX she hit the Susan Blake line. What has always been for woman,is now worse.

  4. With Goodrich anchoring, I'll continue to watch their news on the weekends.

  5. Ditto moi; Juliette is cool beans

I never was a fan of Notarangelo, but she was adequate (and seemed - finally, recently - able to cut back on those little peeps and squeaks that found their way into her delivery.)

Now, moving forward to the Disney girl: maybe Ann and hubby will take Liz with them?

  6. For KPIX to let quality talent like Lawrence Karnow and now Ann Notarangelo go and instead keep mediocrities like Roberta Gonzales, Liz Cook, VDLC and their atrocious 10pm Night Beat newscast turns me completely off-I now only watch KGO & KTVU for my daily news fix.

  7. Ann is the only reason to watch the weekend news on this channel - Juliette is now forced to share the air with Brian Hackney who could not be more full of hiimself and always has been - that's where they should make a change.

  8. You know,I do believe that Juliette started at 5 as one of those summer special news series long ago about hiring college interns to do news right out of college- or maybe even before. She stuck.
Now? all we hear about is interns doing the news.

She is my favorite to watch on KPIX.

  10. Ann is a real class act. More reasons not to watch KPIX. KTVU has a much better news crew anyway. (even thought Fox blows)

  11. I see a trend. Notorangelo. Leigh Glasser. Jackie Bennet. Diane Dwyer. + more...
See? the Susan Blake line. Still beautiful as they age,but too old to advance another notch. The writing on the wall.
    Huh? You know I'm right.
