KRON will have state-of-the-art new digs at 900 Front Street come the middle of next month.
Everything looks nice.
The new set up above is a refreshing change from the staid old 1001 Van Ness studios --the Embarcadero home is choice real estate for current KRONvicts.
From Tommy's Joynt to Grumpy's.

I wonder how many KRONvicts will get pink slips to pay for the move.
ReplyDeleteThere may be a number of KRONvicts that deserve a pardon.
ReplyDeleteI forgot, do we expect it to be a joint news operation with sharing of some/all on-air talent and reporters? Kind of a KGO/KOFY with a little KRON talent (if you excuse the expression) thrown in?
18+ years in the Bay Area and no change in audio bed whatever you people call it. NEED NEW JINGLES -- intros to/outros from commercial breaks, etc.
ReplyDeleteThat parking lot in one of the linked pictures will be the new home of a 175 room hotel and new location of Teatro Zinzanni I think.
ReplyDeleteDidn't the KGO digs used to be at 900 Front??
ReplyDeleteThey still are. Kron and KGO are sharing the same building.
DeleteThey still are as far as I know. The two of them are "sharing." Wait till each starts merging departments with the other and laying off people to pay for all this new technology. "Can we share writers? Producers? Videographers? Editors?" They already share the helicopter. (Will Pero share Darya?)
DeleteYes, those are the old KGO digs. Looks like the main studio is where the old newsroom was. The doors to reception are right behind that wall. Probably have converted the old studios to control rooms, but I can't figure out where they put the writers/producers workstations.
ReplyDeleteDarya will be broadcasting there we'll into her 50s. Wait, that's next.year.
ReplyDeleteOn KRON at 645: Incredible!!!...Pam Moore broke into tears during a break when the Giants fell behind 7-0..Radnich on his spot noticed she wasn't paying attention to him read.so he said to her "That's because you were crying about the Giants"..and of course you think- he's razzing..she couldn't have cried. A minute later Jackie shaking her head told Moore " You ran off the set during the break in tears"..and Moore gave her the dead eye..Jackie said too much.
ReplyDeleteI knew it..I wrote weeks ago Moore has to have issues to let Radnich push her around to the point he would tell her she was second tier to the great Pete Wilson. That's like breaking her down as Raddy wants it.
Whew! I almost missed that incredible drama. Tears!
One more about KRON...Tonight, Pero had Viki Liviakis do a remote- get this- using her cell phone as a camera!..HOW CHEAP CAN YOU GET KRON?..jeezuz,it wasn't even in HD..It was 1999 cellphone quality. Crise sake, It was a selfie news report- no exaggeration. If it had been HD? you could have counted her nose hairs that's how close her face was to the phone lens.
ReplyDeletewhew- I call it a day...
Can KTVU squeeze any more "news" out of these post-game broadcasts??
ReplyDeleteThat's the old "View from the Bay" and 7Live" studio. For what it's worth.
ReplyDeleteAaron Pero is a self-centered, egotistial nincompoop who needs to be sent packing. The guy thinks his own farts don't smell. But Pero is merely a symptom of a bad moves made by a clueless station that has been in the wilderness since losing their NBC affiliate. I can't believe Radnich still hangs on there, but I guess he's got nowhere else to go. No other station wants to deal with his contract or his ego. He's lucky to still be working, as he doesn't know sports anymore, never shows up to a game ("no one cares!" and his worn-out Las Vegas lounge act is old and tired and boring. Pero is a supreme clown though, and from what I hear first-hand from people who have to take orders from this fool, it's not a good scene over there!
ReplyDeleteNew Digs aren't going to change that!
KGO television is still there. KGO radio moved out when the Cumulus clouds rolled in.
ReplyDeleteGrumpy's has nothing on Tommy's Joynt. That's a downgrade for the KRON staff.
It's a much better neighborhood at 900 Front. I hope the Kronnies enjoy their new home!
ReplyDeleteBarry
Rich said it right. Pero must have a small something. Well, actually we've seen it in the changing room for the workout room in the old building. . and yeah, well, never thought I would say it, but poor Darya.
