Is There Something I'm Missing About KTVU's Heather Holmes?

Of all the mail I get about local TV media anchors, KTVU's Heather Holmes gets a lot of attention.

I mean, a lot.

Frankly, I've never understood the whole Heather phenomena --I think she's OK on air but nothing really special actually to me and I don't mean this as a knock, but she comes across as sort of impersonal --just my opinion.

She's a capable newsreader but I don't see anything standing out although I guess she must look like something even though it hasn't registered my way.

Obviously, you all disagree.

And please, don't be snotty.

  1. I totally agree, Rich. I watched her last night. It's obvious she's had some work done on her face.

    2. You've noticed how goofy he looks now, haven't you?

    3. I also agree with Rich on this one.

    4. She keeps changing her hair color to take the focus off she had some work done.

She is catty dull and boring.

      pass

    5. Catty is the perfect word to describe Heather Simpson Holmes.

  2. Obviously, she's very attractive as most TV anchors, but I agree that she lacks a lot of charisma. She's competent, but I agree she doesn't really have a whole lot extra in the personality department, although there are glimmers every once in awhile.

  3. Never heard of her :)

  4. I have no idea what people see in this woman either. She looks sort of like a Simpsons character with a long narrow head/face, her eyes are funky, she doesn't have a great figure, and frankly, she comes across as a poser bitch onscreen.

Just at KTVU there are several more attractive women, from Julie and Gasia to Ally Rasmus, Cara Liu (hope she's doing well), and others. Other channels also have more attractive women on screen for them.

Heather Holmes? Maybe on KBBL in Springfield, Simpsonia...

  5. KTVU has a stable of fine women. Claudine Wong is tops. All of the newscasters at channel two do a great job, women and men.

    2. CW, annoying voice.

  6. I hope that they move Tara Moriarty into an anchor spot when Fox takes over. She would be great. Heather needs to go!

  7. Heather IS a competent, no-frills news reader and that is what makes her exceptional. No bolt-ons like Ms. Folsom, no hair flipping like Miss Schertz - she's the real deal. As far as how she looks, she looks like a real woman and not some overly made up pre-op. Plus we know she'll swallow snot so she seems like a fun gal. Sometimes basics like being able to read trump other more "exotic" qualities.

  8. I don't disagree, but I feel that way about a lot of other news anchors you get all hard for too. Most of them are just haircuts that read the teleprompter. When are all your horny males going to realize that? (The females I talk to already do.)

    1. We do realize it. We just don't care (by definition.)

  9. Heather Holmes seems like she likes a good party now and then. Sometimes you can tell by what she's wearing that she either just came from a party or she's rushing off to one after she gets off the air. A lot of female anchors are pretty ho-hum wardrobe-wise day after day (think Tori Campbell) but sometimes I can tell that Heather is wearing her dancing shoes. Party On Baby!

  10. I think she's very hot. Seen photos of her at community events: hot bod.

It's one thing to be naturally "hot." It's another to work at it. No need to force sultry gazes. Just read the freakin' news.

  11. I guess we are stuck with Ama Daetz on Circle 7 with Dan Ashley - and worse - Katie Marzullo on the weekends - she is ok as a reporter - but NOT as an anchor - they ought to let the new weather guy on the weekends read the news - he at least has personality.

  12. I think Haner is the one with the problem. She seems to flash her phony saccharine smile more for her own benefit than the viewers. I find it condescending.

Things would be different if I were in charge. I'd get ex cnn'er Sophia Choi from wherever she's hiding. No smiles from her...just the facts in a simmering, sultry way.

    1. Sophia's at WSB-TV in Atlanta. 2's soon to be former sister station, anchoring weekend mornings. Such a huge fan of hers and she's very down to earth to people.

  13. I caught Vicki Liviakis on KRON-4 this weekend. Pass the drool bucket! She is gorgeous, smart and cool.

  14. It might be the lighting of the photo, but her chin cleft is missing...

Too much highlighter around the eyes. Or maybe it's the tanning bed goggles. Either way, a raccoon easily comes to mind.

      Not a bad looking MILF.

      She is short so pass.

  16. I didn't notice how good looking she is until she stepped away from the desk. She should cut her hair length to match her face a little better, and lose the 1950s outfits.

  17. Re. Holmes, that picture looks a lot better than what I see on channel 2. She's competent, is prepared, does live reports too...but is nothing special. I guess she's from Texas...which maybe explains things. At times, she can appear to be a fish out of water here.

  18. What a stunningly beautiful young woman Heather is! The guy who ends up with her with going to be one lucky dude!

  19. Heather popped into a dream of mine once which is odd because I haven't watched Ch2 for years. She was wearing a bikini (purrrrrr) but the alarm clock went off before things got interesting. If I had Rich's ego I'd say "Her loss".
