CNN: Just What The Hell Happened?

What's going on at CNN? Do they not have no shame, (see above)?

Who's minding the store? Wait a minute. Maybe that's the problem to begin with.

CNN needs a colon cleanser ...a new beginning. A fresh start. The most objective observer on the planet would take a look at CNN and discover the obvious: the 24/7 cable news outlet has become a certifiable news albatross.

Don Lemon? Gimme a break.

Jake Tapper: Are you kidding me?

Anderson Cooper: You look sort of embarrassed. We understand.

I was under the impression CNN had been kidnapped by a bunch of 3rd-tier players rejected by the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. Wait a minute, they couldn't be any worse from the daily mush CNN dishes out to the viewing public.

And they wonder why the ratings are in the toilet?

BREAKING NEWS: "Dear Ted Turner, help! Please" Sincerely, The USS Zucker.

  1. Nothing like a national "on air" pissing contest all folded into a bubbling racist pie to make you wanna throw up...

  4. Garbage like this is the reason I cut the cable and went to antenna TV. MSNBC is even worse, do they still have the mind-numbing, endlessly repeating prison shows? I got tired of paying exorbitant rates for this kind of brain damage.

  5. Apparently those black people who riot based upon what they believe happened are not bright enough to recognize that it is not the cop on the street that's a danger to their young men, its the street without a cop. The FBI numbers for 2011 show an average of 15 black men a day were murdered (with police killings accounting for less than one person of any race per day). If anything, black people should be protesting the hateful and homicidal behavior of black people.

  8. Ever since Don Lemon said the missing Malaysian Airliner was swallowed into a "Black Hole" things have really deteriorated for Lemon. Instead of being an objective anchor/reporter he has now become an advocate interjecting himself and his beliefs especially with the Ferguson shooting first reassuring the Brown family that "he will always be there for them--just give me a call anytime you want" & now with that Fiasco of an interview with that ridiculously inane Rapper Wiz what's his name!! CNN needs to bring Bernard Shaw out of retirement & put the "Lemon" out of his misery!

  9. People like Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper & Karel (yes, I meant the inference) will devour a fresh plate of dog crap covered in hollandaise sauce & gleefully ask for seconds. Peanuts, anyone?

  10. Was that guy performing at the Shoreline Amphitheater last night?

  11. Fox News has its right-wing audience; MSNBC has its left-wing followers. CNN figured they would go for the non-ideological, apolitical tabloid hounds.

  12. Pretty cool conversation with a lot of passion between two African American gentlemen. I don't see a problem Rich. What's your beef anyway? Sometimes you have the strangest takes on things and I can't figure out why.

Perhaps you could illuminate people us with why you found the conversation between Don Lemon and Jake Tapper so offensive. I think it was pretty representative of the kind of passion that black people have for the alarming rate of violence being perpetrated on them by American cops.

I don't blame black men for being as upset as Jake Tapper currently is. It's stunning to me that it's taken America this long to see how much abuse there i has been from the cops, (both black and white, and some of the black cops are just as bad if not worse than the white ones), toward black men. But this has been going on for a long, long time. Do you realize that the Rodney King riots were 22 years ago? Has anything changed since then?

Something has to be done about this epidemic of police violence because it's completely gotten out of hand. From Rodney King to the more recent deaths of unfortunates such as Oscar Grant here in our own back yard, this situation is a deplorable one that we have here in the USA and it should never have been allowed to escalate to this level.

    1. Jake Tapper looks white to me! I strongly dislike Tapper and his side taking and over emotion reporting both in Ferguson and in the Israel/Gaza situation.

  13. CNN had way too much coverage of Ferguson and were really biased creating other media created stories such as when Jake Tapper, who I immensely dislike, made a big stink out of the "militarization" of Ferguson. This is the Jake Tapper who recently reamed an Israeli official during an interview clearly taking sides with Hamas. I don't mind Don Lemmon's coverage on Ferguson as he stayed professional IMO and Anderson is always good. There were so many other things going on in the world and day after day it was Ferguson. CNN needs to report the news, not create stories.

  14. The anchors who stated personal opinions as they were reporting have no credibility left. All the facts are still not in. Reporters are not experts in police response and should offer no opinion, only report what they observe; not interpret what they observe.

There should always be at least two views (pro and con) given, and often there are nuances and more than two views, and it's the job of a new organization to figure that out and to present it to viewers.

But, with CNN, we're dealing with INFOTAINMENT. It is entertainment/crisistainment posing as news to get viewers, to get clicks, etc., to enhance the monetization of news as a commodity. Thanks for noting it.

We don't know if the officer was justified or unjustified in the shooting. If the officer acted improperly, it will come out with all the investigations. He should then be punished justly. If he acted properly, then we may have riots when he either is not prosecuted or prosecuted and determined to have acted justly

All because we, as a nation, have continued to ignore very real problems in many urban areas of high unemployment, high crime, rampant gang problems, etc. The longer we, as a nation, ignore those issues, the more explosive will be the outcome.

One could even say that Ferguson is not so much about the young man who lost his life, but about a relief valve for the pent-up frustration of many in the African-American community.

An honest, frank and courageous dialogue is needed, but if I were a betting man, I'd bet on riots that will some day spread across this country as the desperation in these communities continues to spiral down, waiting for something to set off the explosion. Will it be Ferguson?

Wisdom, and true leadership from our first African-American president, would be to start that dialogue now, not after the mayhem.
