  2. Another topnotch job by KTVU's editing crew. Sunday's 10PM news coverage of a fatal car crash gave viewers an unnecessarily close look at the driver's extracted and tarped body, the torn-apart car, and the head of a dead teenager still stuck in the right front seat.

I only hope his loved ones weren't tuned in.

    1. 9:24 AM,,,,That (unvarnished gore) is how the news is shown on the Mexican TV stations. Nothing is held back in reference to violence.
The old newspaper motto applies here; If It Bleeds, It Leads". Maybe the local news is reshaping itself to suit the new demographic. How did you know the teen's head was in there, did a reporter really come out and say that verbatim? I can't imagine that the head would knowingly be shown on camera. That;s straight up ghoulish!

    4. If you ever want to see real footage of events, which is often more telling than the words that are stated, check out almost any other news broadcast other than that of the US. We are sheltered from reality.

  5. Staff was cut back in 2001.....what you are seeing now is "writers" and "producers" filling in gaps with desktop editing. But Cox has a good looking bottom line, and that's all that matters.

  6. I was surprised when I was in Southern California. They show much more graphic footage from crash scenes and shootings. Also there seems to be a couple high speed chases on SOCAL Highways a week.
