Back from a weekend. Hate this stupid time change which always screws up everybody's ritual. Back to the storm desk and ready for your questions and answers.

Anything goes as long as it doesn't get personal.

Be nice and show a little edge.

We'll begin answering your queries a little after 9 AM PT but you can begin firing away immediately.

  1. Who's responsible for typing the "ticker crawls" on newscasts -- especially on a local basis (hello KRON4)? Too many typos. Zero attention to detail. Is this a $10/hr intern thing?

    1. No, they actually pay people good money to do this.

But I agree with your assessment.

  2. Why do you waste blog space with so many comments from "Stan"?

There is obviously something seriously wrong with the guy and yet he is becoming an increasingly significant part of your blog. It cheapens your brand. Do you really want to associate yourself with Stan? Is that who you are?

Do you think anyone can take you seriously when you embrace an internet troll who has warn out his welcome every where else?

    1. I find Stan mildly amusing and somewhat entertaining.

And I'm not "wasting" blog space. He's entitled to comment. Sometimes he goes overboard and I'll omit his posts.

      Stan knows his limitations.

    2. You are destroying your credibility as a legitimate media critic if you find "Stan mildly amusing and somewhat entertaining,"

You must be aiming for the low IQ crowd, not serious, discerning observers. Guess that explains the trashy, female talent pinups.

    3. I don't think Stan does know his limitations. He comes across as a disturbed individual with serious delusions about his own importance and imaginary relationships with public personalities.

Other blogs have been forced to ignore his obsessive, crazy comments. You, on the other hand, appear to encourage him. That doesn't speak well for you or your blog.

    4. In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

  3. Just for everyone's edification, what in the hell is actually wrong with you?

    1. Well, for one, there's morons like you who think they're cute ...and the other is I'm starving right now, I think I'll go get a sandwich.

    2. Didn't your good buddy Michael Zwerling just say that you are "fat and unhealthy?" Maybe eating isn't the answer to all your problems.

  4. Rich: Raddy blew his cork at Kate today @ 1030am. He asked her to make copies of something and she declined. He actually wigged out and started ranting about Lee moving all the employees (not him) to Fresno.
Kate gave an analogy that if a Homeless guy asks for something to eat and she gives that guy a tuna sandwich and then the guy says "I don't do tuna" - this was for Raddy's sake....

During the Bonds audio presser Radu cut it short even tho it sounded like Krueger wanted to air the entire item....

    1. Thanks, Stan,

You hate Radnich and yet you stalk him compulsively so you can report back to 415 Media everything he says and does. That in itself is crazy enough but you are also so stupid that you can't understand Radnich's sarcasm and can't even interpret what he's saying correctly.

If you don't like him, don't stalk him. And please don't assume anyone else is interested in your disoriented thoughts about Radnich.

  5. What is your prediction with KRON newscasts and Gary when they move in with KGO??

  6. I agree on the time change "Daylight savings"..for what? The longest days of the year are in summer, adding one more hour has what point?..

    1. The schools control the daylight saving time crap. NO Hawaii or ARZ and they do just fine...

    2. One of the biggest boosters of lengthening Daylight Saving Time the last round was the National Chamber of Commerce. This is all about business hours and money...not about schools or summertime. Cold...hard...cash.

  7. Some "OT" sports questions...

Who will finish the season with the better record, the Giants or the A's?
How far into the playoff will the "Dubs" and Sharks go?

  8. How much longer are we going to be forced to watch KGO's weather casters on the roof when THERE IS NO WEATHER GOING ON?!?!? It dumbs down the weather forecast trememdously. Even when the weather might justify an outdoor TV weather hit instead of putting their people live at Ocean Beach, KGO still chickens out and sticks them on the roof where you really can't discern much regarding the weather in the first place. Someone tell KGO's News Director that this stunt has worn out its welcome. And, yes, it most indeed is a stunt. It doesn't enhance the forecast. If anything it undermines it.

  9. Where did you get your suit?

  10. Why are SO many people at ABC 7 SO unhappy? Is it because of News Director?

  11. Hey Rich- I have a question. Why does Radnich always take cheap shots and low blows at people he works with or who work in his industry? Is he that insecure? It's not necessary is it? I think it shows the man's insecurity. But this is a guy who not lony ago was trolling the Tenderloin of San Francisco for 'Chicks with sticks,' so I guess we shouldn't be at all surprised by anything Raddy does!

  12. The time change thingy sucks. Why can't we just move the clocks 30 mins ahead and never touch them again - something for everyone kinda thing.

  13. Hey Rich, can you answer me a question: What is Amy G. doing on the air and how has she managed to stay on the Giants' TV broadcasts all of these years? Who was the idiot who actually made the move to hire her in the first place anyway? What in the name of god were thev even thinking. Giants fans such as me will always turn down the TV sound when that annoying, clucking hen comes on the air. With her unprofessional, valley-girl voice, and her vapid questions: "So Buster, take us through that last at Bat!" she gives new meaning to the expression: 'On-air Bimbo.' It's a shame, because there are a number of good women reporters doing sports on TV. They should put either Kate Longworth or Mindy Bach on their in her place if the Giants insist on having a woman on the air. It's embarrassing to have her on, and I can't imagine she gets a lot of positive response from the public, because everyone I know who is a Giants fan can't stand her! I also happen to know that Krukow and Kuiper cringe every time they have to send it down to 'Amy G.' What a joke, huh?

  14. Any update on Heather Ishimaru? I liked her and I hope she is recovering.

  15. I also want to know if there are any updates on Heather Ishimaru. I think she is a good reporter and I am hoping she is recovering well.

Also - what's the deal with Brent Cannon? He started out years ago as a co-anchor on KNTV with his wife, Laura Garcia-Cannon. She continued on as an anchor in the mornings and I thought I heard that Brent took a behind the scenes job at KNTV. Yet I heard him last night on KGO radio, filling in for the evening guy (who's name escapes me at the moment - sorry!!). So is Brent going back on the air?
