  1. Rich, aren't you the guy who said you weren't worried about the drought because California is right next to the Pacific Ocean?

  2. Brian should be doing talk in st Louis or Nashville. Not an intellect. I know that's the audience but he's just terrible. Already peaked, and that's sad.

  3. I don't listen to Sussman's show anymore, but he does know his weather, or what contributes to the weather. Brian may have been referring to Jerry Brown agreeing with Barbara Boxer, and approving of the diversion of water in Central Valley. Water has been diverted away from the farmlands in order to protect a few species of fish and wildlife. To me, that's a cruel and stupid thing to do. What's the word for people who hate other people? Misanthrope, I think. These folks simply don't give a G-Damn what they have done to the local economies in that area. They want to impress they finanacers and New York counterparts. A lot of needless suffering, all for a damn fish! Maybe the word I'm looking for is 'inhuman'.

    1. Those fish ends up on a lot of tables and provides jobs in other communities. The water flows into the SF bay clean out a lot of pollution from the CV. A lot of water use in the CV is still unmetered, and the idiots you weep and wail over have been building golf courses watered by primary water. Word for you is selfish.

    2. Humans can adapt, and find other methods. Fish cannot. Once their ecosystem is destroyed you have a hard time replenishing the fish itself, which can cause many other problems.

But I think it's cool that you're simpleminded.

  4. Sussman is mentally ill. What's sad is being mentally ill today is the fastest way to get a spot on radio or TV. It's "Network" writ large. Paddy Chayefsky was a prophet.

    1. I think you're right.

I don't listen to Sussman's radio show, but years ago he called into Scott Ferrall's show (when Ferrall worked in SF). Sus ranted and whined about how overrated and undesirable the Bay Area is. If he hates the place so much, then he has to be nuts to live here!

    2. As the conservatives always say "if you don't like this country leave". Maybe he should follow his own advice.

    3. He's not mentally ill. He's a moron, a wannabe.

The reality is, there's not much of a market here for real deal conservative radio. Think Bill Handel. Think Roger Hedgecock. Think Mark Davis.

It's the Bay Area. It's liberal. It can afford to be. That's really what it's all about, guilty folks with too much money and too much time on their hands who think they can endear themselves to the Creator by trying to convince the world that two and two really equal ten. They want to save a world that doesn't need saving. The Bay Area attracts a disproportionate number of those people so this is just how it's gonna be. I don't even fight it anymore. Life's too short. If and when the money ever runs out or goes away, the problem will go away.

  5. All these people that 415 Media hates: Sussman, Owens, Radnich, etc. are all entrenched bay area voices. You don't really have to like them or agree with what they say. They are here, they have their own followings, get over it.

    1. It's true. They're here and they have their fans and that's it.

I told someone else here that I saw Ronn in person and didn't think he looked healthy. The business has ripped his guts out. He should retire but I have a feeling he's lived beyond his means for a number of years and can't bring himself to give up all that easy money. His life, his choice.

  6. Sounds like Suss thinks Jerry is god. Probably the nicest thing he's ever said about a democrat.

    1. Jerry is beginning to tell his people to cool it on the gun laws. They can see what's happening elsewhere in the country. They read the ruling from the Ninth Circuit. The writing's on the wall. 2nd Amendment rights are increasingly being confirmed (Heller, Macdonald) and if California Democrats continue to stand at the ocean yelling stop, eventually they'll pay for it at the ballot box.

    2. Yeah Jerry isn't going hardcore on the gun regs but Harris is. She's got some program that connects gun registration names with mental health records, compiles a list , then sends swat cops to kick in doors of average folks to confiscate guns. She's not even denying it, in fact told Biden to make it the national standard. I went to a dermatologist last year and the first thing the nurse asks me was "are you depressed, do you feel like you want to hurt yourself?" WTF??? Heard about Harris' program later and connected the dots. Fucking control freak socialists. Who votes for these people?

    3. Uh, people who live in San Francisco and have more money than God some of which was inherited? Yeah, that's who.

Kamala Harris is gonna find herself with statewide concealed carry that she can't do anything about. Heller, Macdonald and the Federal courts are gonna take care of that.

    1. Knock it off! Don't even suggest that in jest. Go away. We don't need that moron down here. We have enough nuts of all colors already.

  9. Hey, if Rick Perry were our governor, he would do something grown-up and responsible like fill a football stadium with people to pray for rain.

  10. Whether or not Sussman has a show doesn't make him good. It's what's available. If you've heard the show 2-3 times you'd know the guy isn't overly talented. He's a lightweight who reads the conservative press/nonsense. If I have heard him 10 times that would be a lot. Yes, he's on the air, but no one is looking to syndicate that guy, or pick him up in other markets. I'm guessing whomever put him on the air saw him as someone who could tap into the conservative market, simply, lack the ability to command a big pay raise, and wasn't the type of person who was going to go much further than he has. Nothing more, nothing less. Brian Sussman gets fired from KSFO, and he's not moving to LA, NYC, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, or any place else that matters. He got lucky, and this is where it ends.

    1. I came to that conclusion about six months after we moved here.

What do I really miss? Gene Burns, John Rothman, Bill Wattenburg and what KGO used to be. When we moved here six years ago I thought it was the most professional talk format radio station I had ever heard. There was a smoothness to it, sounding like someone had been at it forever. I liked it. A LOT. I thought KSFO sounded amateurish. My wife and I are conservatives and we liked Lee and his guests but KGO was the blowtorch, the big boy. Ronn once had David Westin on his show and I was engrossed for the whole time, never moved the dial. That's radio, or at least that's what it's supposed to be and occasionally still is...if you get lucky.

  11. Brian Sussman is a nice man who doesn't really believe in all that nonsense he espouses. He just realized that he wanted to be a radio talk show guy, not a TV weatherman, so he figured the quickest entre into radio would be to take an extreme right wing point of view on an SF radio station. In his mind that would stir things up and he'd have an instant audience. Believe it or not, Sussman is actually a hard core liberal Democrat who loves Obama and just likes to sound absurd so that he can get an audience. While it worked for awhile, the novelty has now worn off. We used to have a guy years ago in the 1960s who worked at KNEW here in the Bay Area named Pat Michaels who did the same thing. He would come on the air and go into some diatribe about "communists in Marin City," or "flat-chested women, with their hippie attire and their micro-mini skirts." He was very funny, but like Sussman, Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, and all of the other right wing screamers, he couldn't be taken seriously, because he didn't believe half the tripe he was spewing. But he got ratings for awhile!

    1. If Brian's really a liberal Democrat and is making all these appearances at conservative functions just for the buck...let's just say he's shallow and disingenuous and leave it at that.

    2. I really doubt that Sussman is a liberal, granted there is some showmanship in most hosts, but I doubt he could do this show, make speeches and write books, if he didn't believe in most of what he says. Off air he might not be as nasty as on air (unlike Savage who is the same unpleasant person off and on air), but if he was a liberal someone would "out" him. Melanie Morgan when she was on with Lee, sounded like she couldn't stand being in the same room with a liberal, except she was married (is) to Jack Swanson who is liberal. As for Limbaugh, Hannity and Savage I honestly believe they are all true believers.

  12. I couldn't agree more I miss Gene, John and Pete Wilson, it wasn't always about agreeing or not, I didn't always agree with Gene, he could at times be very conservative, but his arguments was always well thought out, well presented and delivered with a certain amount of class, and respect. I'm soooo sick of the screaming and ranting of Savage, Sussman, Rush and Hannity, they don't all scream and rant, but the repeat republican talking points. Savage phrase "I can't take it anymore" is so overused and old, if he can't take it maybe he should quit. Ronn is still a good interviewer and he gets good guests, yesterday he had Michael Cordoza on and I thought it was a very good hour. KGO was known as a very unique, quality local station until Dec. 11 cumulus destroyed all that. You hit the nail on the head, it was the blowtorch everyone was a professional, nothing was taped, everyone was on the top of their game. Too bad it is gone.

    1. Gene's politics weren't important. When it came to food and wine he knew his craft and was a complete professional. You could hear it. If I was in the car on a Saturday morning, I listened to him. Period.

I think that business tears up the body, sedentary with so much stress. Ronn and others who've sat in a chair for decades on end are all having health problems. I think it killed Gene and Lee.

  13. I listened a little to Sussman this morning, Katie is getting worse, she barks most of the time, her voice is so unpleasant, it sounds like something you could cut iron with. When she is reading it is better, but why she has a career in radio I do not know. Even if KSFO does not pay much, can't the find someone who sounds better.?

    1. How Melanie Morgan and her Husband must cringe when they tune-in to KSFO and hear Katie's awful barking voice and all the silly unprofessional whistle and bell distractions.
Melanie had a beautiful voice, was worldly and interesting...nothing like this Katie!
