Candlestick: The Stadium Ed DeBartolo Called a Pigsty

 Ah, the love.

Suddenly, it's the Roman Colosseum. Our illustrious media has short memories.

For football, Candlestick Park was fine really and serviceable. Until you had to leave the parking lot. Most of the time the weather was fine. For football.

Baseball, yes, generally it was miserable.

Enjoy the game.

  2. I'm interested in what Rich thinks the news should report on, rather than just being a know-it-all critic.

What does Director Rich think should be the topics of the day?

    1. Yes please Rich, instead of telling us what everyone else does wrong, tell us what you would do!

  3. Good points, typical of Bay Area residents and media. If you like your stadium, you can keep your stadium.

  6. When they blow up Candlestick, are they going to invite former Giants right-fielder Jack Clark to set off the dynamite?????

  7. Candlestick Park is like a relative no one likes. They complain about them their whole life but once they're gone, they're revered.

  8. No one in the media is claiming that Candlestick was the Roman Colosseum. The stories have been about all the memories associated with the old stadium.

  9. We've been treated Candlestick memories from baseball players and football players, but what about the off the field ballplayers who competed there for fifty-three years, the groupies?

  10. So many great memories at that old dump that it's hard to list them all. Right at the top of the list: Dwight Clark's iconic catch vs Dallas in January of 1982 and Will Clark's pennant clinching two run single in game five of the 1989 NLCS. I was lucky enough to be there for both of them!

  12. OMG WTF happened at Candlestick last night??? Don't you just love those on-side kicks? Atlanta damn near won that puppy last night! If I see any more on-side kicks, it'll be too soon!
