About the Radio Show: A Note To the Readers of 415 Media

To do the type of show that is 100% professional both in content and technical purposes, we came across a number of obstacles that need more time to work out. Most have to do with making the remote host set-up compatible and without any of the "gremlins" that are an unfortunate constant in the radio biz.

We could short-term the process and the end result would sound crummy. That's not fair to you or to me and so we're going to work that out and hopefully re-launch soon. I say hopefully because when you're at the mercy of the high-speed gods, time is a commodity and they work on their pace and not yours.

Furthermore, we have some creative and time elements to work out but that's mostly the small stuff and not a big issue. The owner has told me he wants my content and I believe him. That said, we're in a holding pattern. The show and content remains the same and the intent is to give all of you the very best product put out on the air at KSCO.

In the mean time the blog will be up...as always.

And I'll give you the latest on the re-launch date and any other significant news when it becomes available. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support and readership.

    1. My thoughts exactly. What's with the lawyerly vagueness? Did John Rothman write this for you Rich?

  2. Can you drive down to SC on Monday morning, stay four nights at a pals house, come home on Friday (traffic nightmare, but....)! Would be a pain in the ass, but at least you'd be on the air.

    1. I do think that Rich's unfamiliarity with Santa Cruz is a minus although I catch his show often. He competes with a pretty good guy on a sister station from 1:00 on and that guy is smart and local. However, Rich is funny and has common sense and he got better with time ( until some recent shows where he seemed aimless) and of course the masturbation comment was gross.

  3. Simply put: you aren't willing to drive for one hour down to Santa Cruz.

    1. As far as rich has let on he lives in Oakland from the hat I would say in the Piedmont area. Driving to the station would be 2 hr drive in the late am and 3 hr drive in the afternoon.

    2. Is Rich riding a bicycle down to SC? It takes one hour. I know because I drive back and forth between Oakland and Pebble Beach often. At most it takes one hour down to SC unless there's an accident. It'll take two hours from Oakland to Pebble Beach, sometimes less.

    3. I don't know how fast you drive and where exactly you live, but from University Ave onramp in Berkeley to Ocean Ave. in Santa Cruz (end of freeway) is 80 miles. To KSCO studios would not be that many more miles but quite a bit of time. Hard to imagine Rich could drive it in an hour especially since speed limit on hiway 17 is 50 mph much of the way. And it's highly unlikely that you wouldn't hit pockets of traffic somewhere along the way, no matter what time of day you drive.

  6. I find it odd that professionalism and technical quality are suddenly important to you since both were lacking for the seven months you were on air. Additionally, why make a premature announcement when details had not even been worked out? Why is your KOMY slot over? They simulcasted every KSCO show today. There's more to this than you are letting on. No wonder you were crying like a baby on your last show. It reminded me of Jesse Jackson's crocodile tears when Obama was elected. Those were not tears of happiness, rather they were of self-pity. When you disrespected Billy Sunshine as well as most KOMY and KSCO regular callers I knew your days were numbered....per usual you'll hit the censor button. There's no hope for you big fellow!

  7. I see the drunks in the RL hater club beat me here. So question to the naysayers why is Savages move taking three months? With the general state of radio today this is not a big shock.

    1. Hey Foggy Logic, stop making excuses for Big Vinny. The announcement was made on KSCO that the new show would start 10/7/13. There was a big uproar by many listeners. Suddenly last week Big Vinny started talking about "obstacles" and "logistics" as issues. If they were not ready to launch then don't make an announcement! The Savage example actually proves my point. It takes a while for changes to take place. Btw what a thin skin you are Rich! Removing the anonymous option for 24 hours. What are you afraid of!?

    2. There's a lot more to this but you're right and I'm sorry. My bad.

  9. Sooooooo (long and drawn out followed by a pause) ...... that said (with emphasis) ..... (clears throat) Rich, we're all adults here. Tell us what really happened. Don't insult our intelligence with fluff. We'll stick with you no matter what. Michael Zwerling? Meh. ... Not so much. Mazeltov.

  10. Why can't Lieberman just give the straight story about what's going on here instead of a bunch of BS.
