What Today Means To Me

  1. Thanks for all those views Rich. I've not been to New York yet. I would love to see some live theatre, both on and off Broadway. The city has a wealth of grand and beautiful buildings. Some buildings, though utilitarian in purpose are still impressive due to their scale or their implied integrity. Monoliths worth having, worth protecting.

Too many dull shoe box buildings being made today, without any Griffins or Dragons or Seraphim Angels on the outsides to protect the buildings from fate's evil whims.

  4. Lived in New York from 1969 to late 71, left and then came back 1 1/2 later. Loved New York after the first 3 months (had mostly lived in small towns before that, in Connecticut and Denmark, I had lived in Copenhagen, but compared to Manhattan it is small town). Use to go to free concerts in Central Park, 5th Dimension and the cast from Hair, air so thick with pot smoke, you could almost just inhale and get a little high. It was the sixties, so much more exciting than twitter and Miley Cyrus. Towers were being build when I lived there, I could look down from Mid town Manhattan and see the progress, unfortunately I never went up in the towers, always meant to, but even after I left and visited never got around to it. The day the towers felt it broke my heart, sat glued to the TV all day. Hope to go back to New York and visit ground zero and see the new building very soon. To 1:58 p.m. yes New York has many wonderful buildings, Grand Central Station (one of my favorites) the NYC Library, the Metropolitan Museum, Penn station I could go on, but will stop here.
