Like this Saturday, at the top: Patrick Warburton, that's right, the hysterically funny "Puddy", from Seinfeld will talk turkey with me straight up at 8 PM.
The best thing about Pat is that he's a cool guy. Funny, irreverent, genuine, and that's in addition to his show biz wares. Warburton is also the star of the CBS series, "Rules of Engagement." You might want to listen on Saturday.
*In the 10-11 PM hour, Ed Robertson, from TV Confidential, will talk with me about 1970's TV.
On Sunday, a power-packed program:
We lead off at 8 with syndicated talker, Alan Colmes, From 8: 30 until 9, I talk with my good friend and KQED "Forum" host, Michael Krasny. Then from 9- 9: 30, I'm pleased to welcome to the microphone, Santa Rosa Press-Democrat sports writer/blogger, Lowell Cohn.

Don't forget that Warburton is also the voice of Brock Sampson on The Venture Brothers - one of the best shows on television.
ReplyDeleteand he was the tick
Deleteand rich needs to talk to him about that brilliant show and why the aholes at fox cancelled it
Rich, I'm glad you're promoting your new radio talk show, "Lieberman Live," here on your blog. I'd be concerned and would wonder why if you didn't. You've got some terrific guests lined up for next weekend. A great follow-up to last weekend's debut.
ReplyDeleteSide note: Gil Gross will be off this Friday (no Rhoda, too!). Filling in for him will be Joe Getty and Jack Armstrong live (not a "best of") from 3-5 p.m.
Thanks for the heads up. I usually don't bother on Fridays due to the insufferable Rhoda. Now that I know the morning clowns will be on I won't tune into 910 until Monday.
DeleteYou're welcome. Rhoda, who regularly joins "Cabinet Man" on Fridays on 910 KNEW, is "insufferable." So is Jack Armstrong, half of morning zoo crew "Armstrong & Getty," with his irritating voice and constant rants. He's tightly wound. Keep that guy away from coffee! I'll be listening to KQED for solid and dependable news programming instead.
DeletePatrick Warburton was in a great little movie with Sam Neil called The Dish.
ReplyDeleteDamn.
ReplyDelete70s TV too. National or local??
Appointment radio indeed!
If I can't listen live, I'll be going straight to the podcasts. Great line up, Rich!
You'll find the "Lieberman Live" podcasts here (just as I did).

So you're having a radio host from a different station on your show? Quality stuff, Richard. What happened to your diatribe about the monologue?
ReplyDeleteI guess your show can't be worse than Michael Savage's tonight. He has spent half the show reading from his own book and reading press releases about his own show. Cumulus has to be so happy.
Haha! I was going to write the same thing. Savage spent most of his show promoting his show in NY and DC, it reminded me of Rich's recent self promotion. I wonder if Rich will spend the third hour promoting next week's show!!??
DeleteA lot of people can't stand Michael Zwerling (aka MZ) and his mother for their conservative politics, which is fine, but KSCO 1080 and KOMY 1340 are a few of the remaining independently-owned local radio stations that haven't been gobbled up yet by the giant corporate conglomerates that have stifled innovative local programming, which is destroying radio. I give MZ kudos for giving you a chance. All the best to you with "Lieberman Live!"
DeleteDefinitely "quality stuff." Rich has lined up terrific guests. "Lieberman Live" is not to be missed. He's already off to a great start.
Delete"Lieberman Live" is not to be missed.
DeleteRich, I think you've already plugged the show enough.
wow-you are lining up real guests..not WFAN's sloppy seconds like the KNBR shows.
ReplyDeleteIn response to your inquiry about monologues versus guests, I think you're in a unique position to enlist and offer guests that we won't ever hear on any other radio talk show. I'll love listening to live conversation between someone of your media background and someone like Alan Colmes, for example. It's like the times when Ronn would have Spencer Christian as a guest. It's always fun to find out about the off-air interests and proclivities of our local and national media personalities.
ReplyDeleteJust my two centavos worth.
