Ronn Owens has been absent from KGO Radio since the day after the election. He's been battling an ailment, sepsis, which resulted in an Owens trip to the hospital last month to get treatment on a bad back.
He was due back on KGO this morning, but instead Tim Montemayor was filling in. Owens posted on his Facebook page last Friday that he was feeling better.
A station source indicated to me that his condition has worsened and that he's in significant pain. We wish him a speedy recovery.
UPDATE: 5: 47 PM PST
Owens posted this on his Facebook page on Monday afternoon:
Just got readmitted to the hospital this afternoon for a couple of days so that doctors can give me what they describe as two "super shots" for my back and leg pain which intensified over the weekend. They're optimistic this will fix the problem, so I'll hopefully be back on the air toward the end of the week. Thanks again for all your kind words and good wishes. They're much appreciated! -
