Bruno Cohen to replace Longinotti as GM at KPIX

Bruno Cohen, a broadcast TV vet with Bay Area ties, (he worked at PIX under the Group W regime in the 70's and 80's), has been chosen to replace ousted KPIX GM, Ron Longinotti, a story published here first.

Cohen, who comes to the Bay Area from WBBM in Chicago, is set to begin work next week at 855 Battery.

Check back later for some analysis on this move and others on the way. We have several theories and ideas.

  1. I believe Bruno Cohen was also previously the News Director at KPIX around 1990 and has been climbing the CBS Executive ladder every since.

  7. Bruno was the young, hip and genius news director who made KPIX a leader from the late 70s to mid 80s.

He operates in a different world today but you couldn't ask for a better steward for KPIX and clearly he's happy to be home.

  8. All of you at KPIX who make big dollars, do not do a lot of Xmas spending.

  9. Most of those news readers are so full of themselves. They acted like they really care about the public. The problem is that the audience believed that these news readers really care.

If you only hear what they say about "the victims" and "the audience" during the commercial time and off-hours.

Some of them are from trust fund families. They bought their way into the business. If these people were actors, they would be sleeping with film directors and producers. Being stuck in the news biz, these people sleep with the cameramen, the news directors, the news producers and each other.

I could name the list. But it is totally unnecessary at this moment. The mighty Rich knows what I am talking about.

    1. I'm not sure where you work, but it isn't KPIX... I actually have very few complaints about the on air talent. My issues are with the complete failure of management at the station. RON WAS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICE BERG. We have 9 managers for 8 reporters.... Are you freekin kidding me! Talk about over paid for doing nothing. Dan hired all of his cronies from KRON and they have systemtically killed the station. No direction, no vision, not detailed oriented, endless mistakes repeated over and over. Failed, flawed, and misguided plans that produced nothing. Good riddance to a bunch of worthless, ineffective leaches on the backs of some talented hard working employees.

    2. I do too. You're speaking the truth about most of them, although there are a few good ones.
