Cumulus KNBR/KGO Shenanigans You'll only get here at 415 Media

From a very reliable source at 55 Hawthorne, home of the lovely Cumulus people:

As I've indicated in the past, when a Dickey brother visits the offices, "bad things happen."

To wit: from the source:

"A few days after his, (John Dickey, COO) visit in June, the Human Resources Director, Stacey Haysler, had her contract terminated, she was out a day or two after she was told by Bill Bungeroth.  That means there is no HR in the building!  In San Francisco of all places, where employees have the most rights in the country."

Complicating matters further, according to the source:

"No one at 55 Hawthorne was told about any of this. The reason we know now is because this past week three, (3) employees made complaints to HR about Jared Hart, (KGO assist. PD, producer), and had to ask who they make the complaint to!  It was all regarding the same incident.  This isn't the first time Jared has had employees file HR complaints about him either."

Gees, what a stunning surprise. Here I was thinking Jared, the boy wonder and producer of the Ronn Owens program, has issues with some people.

*MONTE makes up rumor--

Tim Montemeyer started that rumor himself about a job in Chicago. He wanted Bungeroth and Paul Hosely to think other people wanted him. Now with the change of Merlin Media's talk station in Chicago back to music, he looks like a fool. Maybe Bungey should move him into the sales dept. where he can meet up with lots of people and network. Plus, he can tape his illustrious "Giants Insider" report--what brilliant information we learn from that hard-hitting three minutes!

  1. I was listening to Radnich go on and on at how great and wonderful Bob Fitzgerald is. Raddy sort of avoids the truth. Although after all that Bob loving he reads an email that said 5 minutes of talking about Fitz is 6 minutes too long.
And you would think that even Bob knows he's hated..he has no twitter or blog or..well,He's as far as he can be from the public's opinion. We all know KNBR screeners earn their pay on his show...The caller "delete" button is replaced every month...wear and tear.

    1. It's pretty clear that Uncle Cranky can't stand having to abide Fitzgerald during Cranky's airtime. Cranky plugs the segment by saying something like "coming up is a real quick five minute shot by Fitz from the Olympics...." He's practically pleading with the audience, "please stay tuned, I'll get this dork off the air quickly, they're making me do this...."

I can't blame Cranky in this case. What is the BLEEDER thinking in inflicting Fitzgerald on the audience when they've got two free weeks without him? Plugging the Olympics doesn't help the station, does it? I don't see how it can. And the segment can't possibly be doing anything for Cranky's show.

    2. Radnich AGAIN going on and on about what great talents Fitz and Krueger are. He did say "I'm getting emails saying how much better the show is,more calmer without Larry"..lol..Raddy,always hedging his bets, playing both sides.
Raddy knows that the first opportunity Larry has to be sole host or Fitz to somehow nab Radnich money if Raddy is gone..they will. SO stop with the phony testimonials..the bay area knows very well Fitz and Krueger are rats..they have proven it.

    3. The one thing Radnich isn't,is humble. So all that "Larry saved me" is just more weasel like talk.

    4. Cranky's compliments of Fitzgerald are the epitome of backhanded. Today, early in the show, Cranky 'praised' his colleague by saying 'wow, you give Fitz a game to call or something to read and he's smooth, he goes right through it! No jerkiness, he's not giving his opinion...." (That's not a verbatim quote, but he definitely did use the word 'jerkiness.') I don't know if Fitzgerald appeared on the show today, so I'm not sure if that was Cranky's version of a plug.

And what was the deal with Cranky's relentless yelling? I only heard about the first 15 minutes, but without Krueger, it seemed that Cranky felt the need to shout the show like he was a carnival barker. Too much coffee or something.

    5. Radnich new thing is too praise his buddy's like they are saints with thick fake sincerity..Then go back to bashing Bonds with lies. For years now Radnich like Gospel has said Bonds was hated by teammates "But I understand because his father drank"- more Gaga,of the Raddy mean streak slur disguised..And the truth my friends? I haven't heard anybody but Radnich claim Bonds was hated. Every time Radnich has asked an old teammate..they say the opposite. On his own show former MLB players tell Radnich he has it wrong. And Radnich and his hate of Bonds-driven by the fact Bonds didn't play Raddys interview games, goes for his revenge every few weeks, despite the facts that say the opposite!.
Its just more of what makes Cumulus just a scuzy shitty, network.

  3. KRON hasn't had an official HR person in years. There is a woman who is supposedly an HR representative, but last I heard she was unavailable to the employees unless they were being informed that they were being placed on probation, threatened for some reason or fired. AFTRA really needs to get off their ass and fight for their people once in a while.

  4. Haha the Tim Monteminor news is hilarious. I was initially shocked Chicago wanted him, but I guess I was hoping against all reason it was true so we could be free of his show. Darn!

  5. BTW, The Hayward Ace hardware store was built in 1900. And was once a gym used by heavyweight champ Max Baer. Even still, its been a hardware store since 1950.
I just happen to run across that...

  6. The KNBR app can't stream their radio broacast on the iPhone. The message says that the stream is not compatable with the device. Great job over there Cumulus! When someone does want to listen, they can't. Stop bungling around and get Damon Bruce into primetime on 680 already!

  7. So Rich predicts Monty is going to Chicago, is proven way off base, and now claims Monty made up the rumor himself. In other words, Rich is claiming his source is good, and that it's close to Monty, so because the information is wildly inaccurate it doesn't really matter.

    Interesting.

Truth is Monty has no leverage at all. He could go to Chicago and no one would care, except the poor people in Chicago. Monty has no play. No host at KGO has a play to make.

  8. Monty is god awful. He falls for all the right wing talking points. The worst part is that there is something about his cadence that gets stuck in my head and then *my* inner voice sounds like Juice Boy. I wish KRXA had a decent weekend lineup.

  9. Monty is terrific! His conversations are always interesting and down to earth (we all can relate to him).Rich, I think you personally should ask Monty straight up because you know what they say: Talk is cheap. (go directly to the source before you dish :))
    Peace!

    1. Monty is terrific? I think not, his subject are for the most part interesting, but he doesen't know how to set it up (listen to some of Gene Burns old shows on u tube), he does not have a great vocabulary, uses "pissed off" too much, makes him sound juvenile. I can't relate to him. he is not firm in his opinions, I often feel he does not really think the subject through, before he offers an opinion.

    2. One of the purposes of talk radio is to play devils advocate. Many times we are guessing what the outcome will be of a story, thats where the radio audience chimes in. (Thats why Monty is effective!) He is willing to hear all opinions, whether they are his or somebody elses.

  10. Monty? When he gets going he sounds like Don Adam's as Tennesse Tuxedo..or Maxwell Smart. Just as a Maxwell Dumb.

  11. Amazing to me how many people listen to Monty (or any of the others on KGO) anymore. I mean it's not like you miss something important if you don't listen. Granted, listening to the radio provides background noise, but for me quiet is preferred. STOP listening and these folks may all disappear and we'll get 24/7 "news" Yippee!!

  12. Yo Paul Hoseley/KGO guru: I think Kim Foster is the best, I wish they had her on the morning news along with Bret Berkhart. Both
are the industry best, hands down. That would be a terrific match in the morning. We want to hear something Fresh in the morning.

  13. Monty is the best! He belongs right up their with the oracle, Russ Limbaugh! But I love that woman you call 'the witch' who's on the weekends. She and Kerel are a hoot! Hey people, it's called
ENTERTAINMENT! And I find KGO's current programming very entertaining, don't you!

    1. 9:43 AM Again, neither Monty nor Maureen is that entertaining in my book,I consider them both rather shallow, compared to Gene Burns and John Rothman. Besides I don't listen to talk radio to be entertained for the most part, I listen to learn and be informed, and hopefully to hear a host and callers who are more intelligent than me, or who has a different view, so I can look at an issue in a different way. I guess part of Cumulus' strategy to appeal to the lowest denominated works to a certain degree. I will never become a fan, and I'm sure I have quite a bit of company. As for Candace deLong, I use to love her as a guest on Ronn's program, and have seen her on TV as well, however I just don't think she has what it takes to make a great or even good talk show host. She is boring, which she never was as a guest, and she does not get many callers.

  14. I think they should give Candace DeLong's show more hours, she is
    great!
