KGO issues Erroneous Press Release on 49ers Broadcasts; Gonzales will stay put at KPIX, but in Different Time Slot

Nice of KGO to put you a press release announcing the station will broadcast the 49ers games for the 2012 season.

Only one problem: The press release is wrong.

In fact, KGO will broadcast only games where there's a conflict with Giant's games on flagship KNBR and The Bone. (107.7 FM). (Like this Friday night's pre-season opener).

Needless to say, a Niner's official was not pleased when I asked about this "news." Caught off-guard too.

*Contrary to speculation that she might be leaving the station, Roberta Gonzales will, in fact, more than likely be going nowhere and stay put at KPIX. Probably in a different time slot, and possibly more time outside the studio doing field work. She will not be doing the 5,6 and 11 PM weather reports at the CBS O and O. (Paul Deanno starts late August).

KPIX, a source confirms, will more than likely issue a press release today, (Monday), outlining the situation. About time.
