Are you Facebooked Out? Friday Super-Size Quickie

So, have you just about had it? Are you Facebooked-out? As Ron Russell in the Bay Area Observer points out, unless you're under a rock, there's a chance you've heard this, that, and every other financial news data on the radar regarding the blue-like people. Wall Street, adore us.

Media hype, overkill, exhaustion, the usual suspects...and lots of new millionaires. Oh, Happy Day.

  1. Facebook can fuck off. So can Suckerberg, the intelplant parasite. And his "citizen of the world" cohort shitbag carpetbaggers.

  2. Facebook is overpriced and oversold as new suckers buys the stock while the founders sell out taking $Billions while the newbies lose totally. General Motors (GM) learned that lesson the hard way and is saving $10 million a year by pulling its ads on Facebook. Warren Buffet says it isn't worth investing in. Avoid this stock at all costs!!

    1. I like Facebook but if they start charging for your page or tatooing all with ad after ad; I'm gone. And that's what is likely wrong with their business plan. It's fun social media as long as it's free...

  3. Yesterday CNN cut into full throttle FB coverage around noon as the selling price was going to be announced. Overkill at its finest. Outside of Zuckerberg, early investors and employees everyone else got egg on their faces. In overnight trading the stock is down to $38.12

  4. I am glad that it is over. How many good news stories were deleted due to the Facebook hype.

  5. Yeah sure, here we go again,... Back in the glorious old days of journalism, no one ever reported such frivolous nonsense.

  6. This must make the Occupy Oakland crowd an angry bunch.
The rich get richer and the Occupy crowd gets nothing.

  7. Rich, How about a few words remembering the work & life of Travus T. Hipp, who passed on Friday, May 18? Well...Travus was a Navy vet who, having become enlightened through experience, dedicated his life to helping the rest of us get turned on to "all the news you never knew you needed to know until right now.".
From Monterey to Silver City, Nevada via the Berkeley coffee house scene, Virginia City's Red Dog Saloon, KMPX with Dusty and Milan, KSAN in its prime, Sacramento's KZAP, the legendary KFAT, KSML-FM from high above Lake Tahoe's north shore, on to the PIG, and over to community radio and the world wide web via Nevada City's KVMR,Chico's KZFR, and Garberville's KMUD. Time to fire one up now with Big Daddy Tom Donahue, Chet Helms, Janis, Lynne Hughes, Laura Ellen, Jeremy Lansman, and the rest of the gang, Travus. You're at peace and in good company now...

    1. I'll add my fond thoughts on Mr. Hipp, who was a steady voice of reason in odd times...thank you for the many calories of food for thought!

  8. People spend way too much time facebooking. It's an unhealthy addiction. Why do all of your 'friends' need to know that you're visiting the Beach Chalet here in the city or playing golf up in Napa? Who the f....cares?

Instead of burying one's snout in a tiny screen while ignoring
the real world around you...put your dang i-phone or
smart-phone away and try having to have a real conversation.

I know it's a novel idea, but hey, you might actually enjoy the experience.

    1. If some nerd in a dorm room can come up with a way to monetize a "real conversation" maybe it will happen. It might just be the next big thing!!!

  9. In my opinion FB will fade out in the next 10 to 20 years, something new will take its place. Thats why no one invested very much yesterday, due to the fact that in the tech world you're "here today gone tomorrow."

    1. Probably a lot sooner than 10-20 years. Facebook is fun but certainly not any kind of necessity. And it is not any kind of tangible product -- just a website to express your opinions or greet your friends.
