Well, I told you Limbaugh's ammo was pre-meditated.
Let's go back in time and see what I mean, specifically.
Rush: "They thought I was done." Actually, not really; as I wisely concluded, Rushbo, my take all along was pretty simple you knew exactly what you were doing.
Oh, sure...maybe the rant was a little extreme; after all, calling a woman a slut. Insinuating porno analogies. Advertisers leaving en mass. Your syndicate cancelling spots up the ying- yang, but you, Rusho, got back into the public news domain, the center of the water-cooler dept. and truth be told, you did it without any really God-awful collateral damage.
A summation: Limbaugh's legacy will forever be cemented one way or the other. If you love him, and a lot of you do, then you have no issues with this ferklempta. If you're Media Matters, then you hated him anyway and this only reinforces your stance. No rocket scientist needed here.
Rush really doesn't give a damn and can you blame him? He's got gazillions in the bank and mucho speaking engagements beckoning even when the sun sets. So, he won't be invited to the Super Bowl, who gives a rat's patoon.
At the end of the day, (Gawd, I hate that cliche) he wins. It's really pretty simple from here.

ReplyDeleteI would be defined by many reading this as conservative; however, I don't like the way Mr. Limbaugh demeans people, refuses to believe scientific evidence regarding climate change, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as fiscal issues are concerned, conservative values would seem to dictate that taking care of the poor and oppressed is the best guaranty of security in a society.
One could argue that conservative values would seem to generate an intellectual realization, if not an emotional impulse of compassion, that caring for one's brothers and sisters forms the fundamental heart of any society.
What I hear from so-called conservative talking heads is just the opposite. The venom they spew will only result in their own destruction if they do not wake up.
Thirty million unemployed will not stay silent and nonviolent forever. Add to that all the soldiers who will be unemployed and we may have a situation akin to what is taking place in The Russian Federation and Eastern European countries: an ugly resurgence in societal upheavel that is only just beginning.
Yes, shame on those responsible for putting the soldiers out of work. We need to invade more sovereign countries, keep our boys workin'!
DeleteKind of a mean-spirited reply 8:47 to the post by 7:49. The point is that the soldiers coming home are not able to find jobs when their service is done. Doesn't sound to me like 7:49 is advocating keeping these soldiers working as soldiers. But there are no jobs when they get home - for them and so many others.

What's it all worth in the end? His value to a better world is nil. Actually minus. Why is he a drug addict? Drug addicts don't become drug addicts because they are satisfied with their lives. Spewing hate and ugliness five days a week takes a heavy toll. I don't envy him for a hot New York second.

Rush is the king of the media. He makes more money in one day than most make in a year. And all through the joys of the free market. Unlike the laughable Media Matters, which is propped up by Soros money.

ReplyDeleteIf Climate Change is so real, why did the scientific group lie about the underlying data? And, did you recently read that the glaciers aren't melting - more Junk Science! (Fewer data points at lower elevations gave us false data.) Taking care of the *truly* poor? Fine. But why should we create more poor, and create more entitled individuals, and rob them of their liberty? Anyone who has had children knows that soft parenting can create entitled, dependant, needy children.
Your twice hinting at violence is the surest sign that you are a progesssive (liberal).

Apples and Oranges. Maher is on cable, is a comedian, and didn't attack a private citizen. Palin is a public person, and became that way when she ran for office. Limbaugh attacked a private citizen FOR THREE DAYS, asking to see her sex video tape, among other things. No comparison. Obama should keep the dough.

Who voted against Civil Rights in the 1960s? Pushed for us to stay in Vietnam (1 million Asians and 58,000 Americans killed) for nine long years, and tried to stop passage and then overturn the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, two of the most significant pieces of legislation of the early 1970s?
