The real deal and the posers

They stand tall and transcend the business. They're good enough that they will not be bullied nor intimidated by their bosses, even if they have a seven-figure salary.

They have morals and never waver an iota on what's right and wrong. They will never kowtow to management at the expense of their colleagues. Never.

They are professionals both on and OFF the air. They don't sell out their conscience and thus become tools. They don't suddenly embrace a fool's heart for the sole purpose of keeping their job; beyond that, they make it a point of doing their job without openly kissing the behind of such an outward shill, the proverbial company snitch. That's what a poser resorts to--there's posers and then there's the real deal.

The real deal has eluded the arena. They hardly exist. But those that still read the handbook are out there--they're just in the minority. But they're there.

These are not especially good times. In these times though, character is revealed. And when everything is going great, it's easy to be one of the good guys. Nobody's watching. But truly, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Character. What a word.

Indeed.

  1. The Corporate World. I don't miss the games, the TPS reports, and the co-mingling with brown nosers. The good don't survive. I'm sure its not any different at KGO.

  2. What if the company snitch is also the poser? Brown nosing the "management" in order to save themselves. Brown nosing because--well, they realize "management" has zeroed in on them as the company snitch and they are now trying to cover their butt.

Something to consider the next time you talk to your source at KRON 4, Rich.

  3. Character made me resign in disgust because of an unethical publisher. Lying about circulation was just one of her offenses, among many.

Character got me unemployment for the past three years, except for my small business that is struggling.

    Screw character.

  4. Jon the crowd Pal...! There are lots of us out here who have been lied to, downsized, and thrown aside because these bloodless cretins who run these corporations don't have any loyalty to anything but the almighty buck and their precious shareholders.

They say: " Screw their workers! We can replace them with young, dumber and cheaper....!" And you know something...that's what they do. How do you think twits like fatty-Fitz and 'Pauley' Mac and Kate Scott survive on KNBR? They're tools who suck up to Lee Hammer and Bill Bungeroth and the rest ofthe Cumulus jackals!
