im not gonna attack the on air talent...will leave that to you
i will attack the plants sent from the atl though
oh, and if anyone posts...I AM NOT A PLANT and then goes on to say that the kgo massacre was a simple biz decision, despite all the evidence to the contrary....sorry, you are a plant
damn...i really miss the early days of the net, when the media companies put their interns to the task, and those kids, trying to prove their worth, came up with really brilliant stuff
Until upper management sees where this goes ratings and revenue wise, nothing we say or do will make any difference.
The nice thing about PPM is that they get results very quickly. Let's see what changes happen in a few weeks once the numbers start rolling in. Predictions anyone??
I can remember years ago when KCBS 740 went to a talk show format. They could not beat KGO 810 news talk. KCBS then returned to all news. Is it possible that KGO 810 will go back to news talk if they are beat up in the ratings? If KGO returns to news talk, they will do it with low cost assets from other stations in their company. Either way, it is a win win for KGO management.
It was a business decison and I am not a plant. It might be a disastrous decison but the idea was to save money through producing an inferior product at a much lower cost. This is as American as apple pie. If you watch television, surely you've noticed. Kardashians, anyone?
Response to 5:22 PM: Shut your pie-hole. You are clueless. With the influx of comments daily for every report Rich posts, that alone tells you he is not a Social Pariah. Get a life (I know, out-dated cliche, but still wanted to keep it semi-polite?)
I don't know Ronn Owens, nor am I a "plant", but exactly what did he do to infuriate so many? I've heard all the dancing-on-the-grave stuff, but somehow I doubt a seasoned pro couldn't have pulled off a company-approved lament for his fallen colleagues without damaging the exec's who made the decision. Why he was even forced to go on the air that day, anyway? And, seriously, why do you call him "Lowenstein"? He's been Ronn Owens for a really long time, as long as you all have been listening to him. If you didn't approve of the newest Woody Allen movie, would he then suddenly be referred to as Alan Konigsberg? I won't go for the easy anti-semitic angle here. Just wondering.
@6:09 your Kardashian reference gave you away Rat-snitch! I thought you didn't read "little blogs". Go back and keep reading Ebony and Jet as show preparation for sports talk you bloated bum!
I AM NOT A PLANT.... And it was a business decision... A REALLY bad business decision...
But If I was a plant... I'd be a fern or a redwood or something.
Richie, we luv ya and you've been like gold for the past two weeks but you just don't do the comedy well. Admit defeat and then come back strong with more insider KGO stuff, sir!!

When will they start slashing at KNBR or KSFO?

Meanwhile, Rich still has no show and is unwelcome throughout Bay Area media. Social Pariah? Print that biz card

I hear Christine Craft's word style - not a plant - unless she is trying to save her job.

ReplyDeleteA good joke.
ReplyDeleteRich, Why do you have such a hard-on for Ronn? ... Things come and go ... Face it. KGO is gone. Long live the memories. ...

"Throws his colleagues under the bus"? What proof does anyone have that Owens engineered this?
ReplyDeleteStick to the facts: a bunch of pirates boarded a sinking ship and killed most of the crew. One guy survived. That makes him the villain?

ReplyDeleteIf he had one ounce of integrity he would have walked and taken his sleep train schtick with him.
