A Few Questions for Len Tillem; 'How come I'm callin' a 'Loyah?' Because I can; Thursday Special

Len Tillem, the "Loyah" and an ex-KGO Radio host dismissed by the Cumulus bullies, is thrilled to death right now. Excited and ready to go back on the air, which he will, come Tuesday on ClearChannel's new Newstalk 910 AM, (KKSF-AM-3-4PM)

 So, how you doin?

"I'm doing fine. Thank God I landed on my feet. On Tuesday, I start my program on KKSF Newstalk 910 AM."

You had to be thoroughly shocked about the firing. I mean, you had great ratings and a huge following.

"Yeah, but so what. That's old news."
 How did it go down?

"Brusquely and impersonally. Paul Hosely, however, was thrilled to be firing me."

Some people say this amounted to a massacre, (like me)--you agree?

"It's the dumbest thing they ever did. These network big shots, all of them, are supposed to be very smart and not make mistakes. The Cumulus suits made a big mistake. They are too arrogant. Clear Channel got smart, jumped on me and Gene Burns, and Rush Limbaugh. Now they've got a real talk station. Watch us kick their puny Arbitron rated asses."
Did you ever have a feeling this was coming?

"Nothing personal.  It's show biz."

Having talked to you directly, you seem relatively non-plussed by all of this. Like resigned. Would that be accurate?

"Are you kidding? I'm ecstatic. My new show will be the same, only better. I got my own show on KKSF Newstalk 910 AM. I own it. It's my phone numbers. This is the best thing that ever happened to me."

You think anything, in hindsight, can come positive from all this?

"Yeah, I have a new show and I can't wait to begin!"

Anything else you want to plug?

"Yeah, here's my Facebook pagehttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Len-Tillem/390083741158 Like me a lot!"

"And another thing, come with me to KKSF Newstalk 910 AM, weekdays from 3-4 PM."

"Come for the stories and please, all you weirdos out there, start calling in.  Here's the number ahead of time: 866-LEN-1000 or 866-536-1000."

  3. I've got a reminder in my iPhone for Len and Gene....I love that Len is so positive and I know his new show will be great. I know some have mentioned they are worried about the time slot for Gene but I'm looking forward to listening to him instead of the "stupid" news on KGO or TV during that time slot....
    Can't wait.

  6. I cant beleive the local media has no outrage at Beane's destruction of the A's...both local sports stations are quiet and apologetic for those oppressed billionaire owners of the A's. Susieganda is just noticing the A's didnt get "maximum value" ! ya think Sue?!
Beane even has those local blogs paid off..some dont even mention the trades!

  7. I adore Len! Everyone needs to have their head realigned about the law and legal system by Len. Plus he's warm and hysterical. I love when he calls out the bozos.

I can't wait to listen to him again! Welcome back Len.

  8. Who is Paul Hosely?
This guy does not sound very friendly.
Is he a KGO veteran or part of the Cumulus crowd?

  9. Agree with the 9:43 poster above.
The local media has always given Billy Beane a free pass.
    His moves are never questioned.
The local media, in particular the print media, treat him with kid gloves. The is true with the SF Chronicle (Susan Slusser) Is anyone surprised?
    He is afforded rock-star/celebrity status.

  10. I'd love to listen to the Law-urrrr and of course Gene Burns on 910 AM, but 910 does not come in well in the South Bay. Not sure if it is a transmitter location problem or just not enough power.

Anybody know if the station owners plan to upgrade the signal coverage to include the South Bay?

Also, does 910 AM offer hourly podcasts as did the former-lead-station-in-the-bay-area KGO?

  11. Why doesn't KKSF grab up the other hosts and just plain put KGO out of its misery? Money?

  12. I like how Len is both positive and detached.

May he enjoy it as long as it lasts, especially at the lukewarm outfit some lovingly call the "Fear Flannel."

  14. I just love Len Tillum too - his show is highly addictive. He says it like it is and he has a great sense of humor. Can't wait to listen to his new show. KGO is cleared from my radio's memory.

  15. I hope a podcast of Len's show will be available like it was with KGO. I live in Oregon and subscribed to his podcase via Itunes. It was great listening to Len while doing my exercise walks.
